These videos are what separate you from the other reselling channels. Showing the less fun parts of reselling and being realistic with effort/time/ reward. A lot of channels will take you hunting find a 14$ game for 10$ and say they made 4$ in 30 seconds which isn’t true. Respect. Creating your own lane can’t wait to see where you guys are in a year.

Usually the figures are what makes the set expensive especially in name brands like Star Wars and marvel

You hit the nail on the head. Lego reselling is only worth it if you know what to charge and what you’re looking at. Otherwise it takes way too much time to sort and research to be worth it. I rebuild old vintage sets and also sell mini figures, but selling mini figures are the easiest quickest flip for sure. Great video!

I find bulk lego about once a year. My most recent was a bin of late 80's/early 90's lego with multiple complete sets we were able to build.
    My process for bulk processing:
-Set aside partial assemblies and unique pieces for research.
-Sort by types (Technic, bionicle, standard blocks, minifigs, star wars, specialty piece groups)
    -Throw away all megablocks!
    - Complete sets from partial assemblies if possible
    - List unique pieces separately individually or by lot. (unique pieces can bring $20+ each!)
    - Sell complete valuable minifigs. Lot up the rest and auction.
    - List partial assemblies if worth it.
    - List rest in sorted lots by bulk weight. The more you sort, the more your bulk price per lb.
One last bit aside from making money on bulk lego - I get to spend an entire day with my older kids sorting and building. It is so much fun!

That giant orange ship is the Guardians ship. Costs about $200 cdn new and is still available online. Comes with a black brick built stand that it sits on and can pivot.
Also, it is Lego, not Legos. Nice haul!

Rule of thumb, any single overly large or large oddly shaped piece is gonna fetch more on its own than the infamous randomized parts per pound. I just sold three boat hulls for over $5 a piece.

  • @jorejaha
    @jorejaha ปีที่แล้ว +1

I picked up a $100 lot last summer that I listed $3000 out of. Yes Google lens and Bricklink together is perfect. Just dont get caught up in building sets. Sell mostly built sets as spare parts for the set and then with the smaller set segments I lot into like lots. Star Wars, Castle etc.. A few great findable figures are 501st Captain rex, Admiral Thrawn, Raimi Spider-man, Jedi Bob, blue super battle droid, Dagobah Luke. A dream find would be some of the cloud city figures. Lotting up Knights, Forestmen, Wolfpack, Vikings, Classic Space does really well. There are some nice castle figures too like Cas319 cas004 Cas006. I'd say that learning how to sell the parts would be the difference maker for someone who wanted to specialize. In the last 90 days I have 127 solds of Lego only 11 were complete sets followed by 77 parts or parts lots and the rest are minifigures for $4555 total sales. Minifigures were my lowest category of solds.I figure the average wage for assembling Lego is less than $5/hr. (extra money received above parts value/Time to build)= waste of time.

I love lego resell videos like this because with reseller who know what they have just an example of one I’ve seen is where they will separate expensive and cheap minifigs which I understand but then kinda just throw around the cheap ones even though there still worth 10 bucks opposed to me for example I found a bag of lego at value village it had like 6 dollars worth of figures and I was ecstatic because they were cool to me. also just a heads up be carful with the dark red and brown pieces they are way more brittle
:edit you actually got them both at 5:28 it was nightwing and spiderman

Insightful video, great look into the world of lego reselling. Doing the math, if you take out cost of operations and loss of productive listing time. Seems the best route would have been to bulk sell the 90 dollar lot for 7 to 8 hundred with buyer paying shipping. The real value was in the lessons learned and future profits from this lesson. Cool video, thank you.

GREAT episode! More Lego content would be appreciated! I'm sure you know that the unique figures from the larger and more expensive sets will therefore often themselves be worth a lot more. I see a lot of bigger and more expensive sets on eBay sold incomplete WITHOUT the figs and still for a hefty price. Selling the figs separately is definitely a common practice. Clearly, you've got enough eBay experience to determine if it would be worthwhile for your stuff.
Also, note that there are dozens of Iron Man figs so match the legs and torsos carefully. There are very subtle differences in the faceplates on some of their helmets, so match them even more carefully, lol

I bought around 100 mini figs yesterday morning at a yard sale for 10 bucks. I noticed some of them as harry potter figs so I think I did well

Hey guys longtime viewer here and Lego fan. Brickmonkey is a very useful app for identifying and completing Minifigures if you want to match up heads. Looks like a great find.. never know what you will find my last great find was a star wars shadow arf Minifigure in a bulk bin.. easy 150-180$ gl

check the minifigures for cracks in torsos or the legs, that's a no no for minifigure, collectors.
