In the 80's words like "vintage" just didn't apply to anything from the previous 3-4 decades. These items were just 'old'. I always loved Vincent Price. If he is in it, I will watch. But I have to take exception to his daughter saying he had relations with men. Had Mr Price wanted people to know, he would have told us. That is a very personal thing about yourself that should remain personal if that is your choice. In his era, his beliefs would have been to keep it secret and it wasn't right for his daughter to open her mouth when what he allegedly said could have been just a statement of acceptence to make her feel better about herself because in his time it was taboo to most people. No one knows if it was true or something she said to make her book boom. It would have boomed on Mr Price's name alone. Very good video by the way.

Somewhere in there was an hour-long comedy show about her life in Connecticut. I don't think that 9ne lasted long. She had some great celebrities as guest stars. For Boomers, Lucy was a staple we grew up with. We got it. We loved it.

While not an _exact_ match for a vampire from eastern European folklore, the _Jiangshi,_ or "Chinese Hopping Vampire" shares enough similarities to be classified as a vampire subspecies-- kinda like the Reapers in Blade 2 would be, imo. The _Jiangshi_ of Chinese folklore are reanimated corpse bound in funeral attire and thus-- silly as it sounds to us Westerners --move around by hopping, with arms outstretched like a stereotypical movie zombie. These creatures hunt at night and feed off human life-force called Ki (or Qi, or Chi) rather than blood; but during the day the hide in coffins or dark places... As I said-- not _exactly_ the classic, European vampire, but eerily similar, imho. Cheers all! 🙂🙂🙂
Gotta stop a MMonroe when it's said she "died if a drug overdose"... yeah right. Her death was way too politically shady to be just a simple o.d.... she got lots of help.
Thomas Noguchi, the coroner, was either absolutely incompetent at that job or was paid off a lot. Who "loses" samples that are taken at the coroner's office? That's ridiculous. Keep in mind that he is the same guy who did the Natalie Wood autopsy, which was also a really shady death of a relatively young woman. Marilyn died in 1962 and that guy was STILL the LA coroner in the 1980's when Wood died. That he kept that job so long while being such a lousy coroner should make people wonder about a lot of other people who had the misfortune to have that guy determine their cause of death. Who knows how many murderers were never punished due to his actions.
I still find sadly amazing that Bill Cosby is publicly dragged and the streaming companies and networks will not show The Cosby Show... BUT... There is NO mention of Stephen Collins from 7th Heaven (who not only played a father of seven on the show, but a Reverend & community leader), that is streaming right now on Paramount!
They should be paid restitution with formal apologies. He mentioned "opening old wounds" about why he didn't apologize to all these underage girls that he abused. Trust me they are not also "opening old wounds" they usually are " wounds that never heal". They should still be paid restitution for damage done under Marsy's LAW!
Buddy Ebson was in the movie in one take of the song just after the tin man was first found on the song going to see the wizard they couldn't take the take out so you get to hear buddy Ebson voice there
It's Ebsen, the title of the song is "Off To See the Wizard," and while Haley of course re-recorded all the Tin Woodman's solo singing, they never even considered re-recording the group singing.
The original vampire has always been Nosferato and this movie was released well before even Bella Legosi's version which was a talky movie. Original version of Nosferatu was a silent movie. Nosferato was also he original vampire and all the other vampires who followed, including Bella Lugosi who looked like a Pinky's aUp Butler dressed in his finery, were imitations of the original. Nosferato was not a good looking dude. However, he was the Real Deal. Often imitated but never duplicated imitation is one of if not the most highest compliment. Spotted the fact that Bram stoker's book Dracula came out in 1897 Nosferatu lens and authenticity that takes away the sleek and slick sophistication of Dracula. Nosferatu don't play, he gets down to business right away. In the movie Salem's lot from the book of the same title, when the vampire is revealed he looks like the vampire in Nosferatu. He NottA-Be-Pretty.
I always thought it was a mistake to make a vampire movie without fangs and music. Recently, 1931's DRACULA has been re-edited with music. Much more watchable.
If Hollywood has decided that the word " Actress " no longer exists why is " Best Actress " still a category at the Oscars? There should only be categories for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
You said Buddy Ebsen wasn’t in the Wizard of Oz?!? Although he didn’t play the Tin Man, he was in the film as one of the Wicked Witch’s guards. He is the one that gives Dorthy the Witch’s broom.
The one who gave Dorothy the witch’s broom was actor Mitchell Lewis, after the makeup mishap Ebson did not return to play any part in The Wizard Of Oz, However his original voice was still used singing We’re Off To See The Wizard after the Tin Man was found.
@@hardlines4 you are correct. I remember seeing a documentary on The Wizard of Oz where they erroneously credited Ebsen as the character who gives Dorothy the Witch’s broom. But, according to IMDb, it was in fact Mitchell Lewis. Thanks for the info.
He was original tin man but silver makeup made him sick. I have the dvd with bonus things and their are clips of Jed Clampet( lol kidding Buddy Ebsen) . They have him singing tin man songs audio recordings.
@laura gardner. Yes, actors generally were much better then. The great ones we have now (over 60 in age) came up the old system where they made SO MANY films while learning that they really learned their craft. Now, the “stars” are more “personalities” than really good actors and true movie stars.
Know something messed up about Hitchcock? When he first started getting into film, one of the first things he filmed was documentaries about Holocaust survivors being freed from the camps.
What's bad about that. The world needed to see it to believe it...especially the German people themselves. I was born there in 1954 and many Germans refused to believe it really happened. It must NEVER happen again.
Well, people can "read' a lot of themselves into movies, but Maria: A Closeted lesbian-- that's pushing it!! Sure, Broadway's Maria, Mary Martin, was a not so secret anymore lesbian married to a gay man-- and many lesbians may like Julie Andrews, but to pin that sexual identity on to Maria herself, is ridiculous. The real Maria married her Captain, as captivating Julie Andrews marries hot Christopher Plummer in the movie. And, by the way, would be nuns, are forced to cut their hair super short so as to not have vanity and fit into that wimple. I guess everybody views movies through their own "special lens."
Whoever put this together should be fired for bad journalism. It's one thing to list facts - it's another to say "This one was weird because" or whatever. Good journalists don't list judgements - they just give the facts and let the audience decide. Also, a lot of this is a real stretch, and some of it's just outright guess-work. If you want to know the facts, go do your own homework, people...
I live in New England and we do have a lot of beautiful places. It’s not hot everyday I live in Massachusetts and I visit there all the time. A lot of nice people don’t want winters but it’s nice. Not just winter but we don’t have too hot days or too many cold. It’s 72 degrees one day and 39 the next. It is a nice place to live.
Sounds lovely...I am in S.C. and it's muggy, hot and too sticky to be believed and winters aren't too cold and very few freezing days though some mornings are and will warm throughout most days! When did Sinatra's career start faltering in the 50's. It was without a doubt his best decade as a artist. Mostly because he could refer to himself as one for the first time in his career. He made In The Wee Small Hours in the 50's. It basically is credited as.being the first concept album and it was the moment that people started taking him seriously in music.

100% agree with you!!

I remember Margaret Hamilton on Mr. Rogers!
I grew up in Downey CA...and there was a whole neighborhood of munchkins! Little houses and all...swear!
Eric Underwood class of 81 Downey High School California
i lived in huntington park for a time where in downey?
When I was in Junior high our History teacher shown us Nosferatu and it was creepy the first time seeing it
Wonderful video! Thank you.

I will forever believe Peter Lawford knew what really happened and helped hide the truth.
Maybe he had "no choice" beacuse of the Kennedys, but it haunted him for the rest of his life, I believe..
Sure he did. That's a given.
He always seemed like a very malleable person who'd take direction and have no thoughts of his own. 😕
Don't forget to mention "Leave It To Beaver."
Another Beloved T.V. Show.
Grunge, Jerry Maren, of The Lollipop Guild, who gave Dorothy’ spoke English. He was in an “Our Gang”/“Little Rascals” Short called “Tiny Troubles.
I had the Good Fortune to meet Margaret Hamilton in the 1960s she was doing Summer Stock and I was doing summer stuff we became very good friends she was a wonderful wonderful lady she never got tired of being the wicked witch she always signed everybody's autograph with www she still has scars on one leg and one arm from that they weren't big they were barely noticeable but she said it was the worst thing that ever happened to her. Glenda the Good Witch played by Billy Burke had a beautiful dressy crew and I'm made it was given the Star Treatment oh Maggie told me she had to make up in a chicken coop I don't think it was really a chicken coop but that's what she said. Anyway I miss her she was a good friend when I needed one
What a cool story!! I love reading comments like this. Thanks for sharing!😉
Cheers all! 🙂🙂🙂
Thanks so very much for the folklore lesson. Really super interesting!
Just goes to show, you learn something new every day (Well, if you're lucky). 😉
I am a straight man and I like the Sound of Music. There must be something wrong with me
@@jimhealey-si1gkthere is not a thing wrong with having common sense and enjoying good music and please enjoy your life! You are doing fine!
Gotta stop a MMonroe when it's said she "died if a drug overdose"... yeah right. Her death was way too politically shady to be just a simple o.d.... she got lots of help.
Bless her heart. She was used by everyone in her life.
@@SuperZytoon She used a few people herself; she wasn't the doormat that some people want folks to think she was.
Margaret Hamilton was also the maxwell coffee lady
I can't believe the Hilarious House of Frightenstein wasn't mentioned.
The lion costume is amazing
The movie was a cinematic masterpiece way way ahead of its time... period.
I used to watch Wizard Of Oz all the time.
Great show... Burr was brilliant ❤
Margaret Hamilton really scared a lot of kids including me when first seeing this.
Then you'll love knowing she started as a school teacher.
My sister is still a little frightened of her!!❤
I love McNear on Gunsmoke radio show for contentious Doc Adams and I think Milburn Stone adapted to being exactly like McNear’s portrayal.
In the early radio episodes Doc Adams' character is more than a bit dark and twisted.
Awesome of Joe DiMaggio bringing roses to Marilyn’s grave. Wasn’t he the one who beat her up a few times during their short marriage?
Very nice 👌
If Hollywood has decided that the word " Actress " no longer exists why is
" Best Actress " still a category at the Oscars? There should only be categories for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
They will also soon stop using the words male and female
You said Buddy Ebsen wasn’t in the Wizard of Oz?!? Although he didn’t play the Tin Man, he was in the film as one of the Wicked Witch’s guards. He is the one that gives Dorthy the Witch’s broom.
Co-rrect..he even got a line.
They have him singing tin man songs audio recordings.
back when actors were badass rather than entitled.
@laura gardner. Yes, actors generally were much better then. The great ones we have now (over 60 in age) came up the old system where they made SO MANY films while learning that they really learned their craft. Now, the “stars”
are more “personalities” than really good actors and true movie stars.
These are all great movies with different ranges. They are all Classics.
Margaret Hamilton was absolutly BRILLIANT in that role. She made that movie
one of the Munchkins worked with my uncle in the 60s and 70s in Marshalltown Iowa. He was also the Philip Morris boy in ads.
Clark Gable was just so gorgeous
Blimey, I haven't even watched this and I'm wanting to give the poster a talking-to.
people related to her character was the message, calm down
Whoever put this together should be fired for bad journalism.
Angela Cartwright she played Penny Robinson on Lost in Space
Good name for your channel.

We're gonna make a classic, no matter how many actors we maim/kill/eviscerate!
The Tin man was NOT a robot
I live in New England and we do have a lot of beautiful places. It’s not hot everyday I live in Massachusetts and I visit there all the time. A lot of nice people don’t want winters but it’s nice. Not just winter but we don’t have too hot days or too many cold. It’s 72 degrees one day and 39 the next. It is a nice place to live.
Sounds lovely...I am in S.C. and it's muggy, hot and too sticky to be believed and winters aren't too cold and very few freezing days though some mornings are and will warm throughout most days! I prefer Helena, Montana and miss all the coffee shops and home made bagels at one shop in particular as they offered real turkey breast and avocado on their menu and it is so yummy with their fresh brewed coffee ☕️!
The Sound of Music was based on a true story and I have a problem with a few of your statements about it!
Everything they said about it was stupid/wrong
When did Sinatra's career start faltering in the 50's. It was without a doubt his best decade as a artist. Mostly because he could refer to himself as one for the first time in his career. He made In The Wee Small Hours in the 50's. It basically is credited as.being the first concept album and it was the moment that people started taking him seriously in music.
maybe they meant his film career? Wasn't he blacklisted?
@@themudpit621 ... although Frank was on Hoover's list of "supposed communist", he was never questioned by anyone (the House of Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), J. Edgar Hoover, Joe McCarthy ... nobody) and to answer your question ... NO Frank Sinatra was never blacklisted ... IN FACT, he helped to bring down the blacklist in 1960. As far as his movies ... they certainly WERE NOT on the way out, Ocean's 11, Robin and the Seven Hoods, Von Ryan's Express, Tony Rome, The Manchurian Candidate were just some of the 20 (YES TWENTY) movies that he was a part of JUST during the 1960's
Orson Welles was absolutely correct his nose was too small for his face. He was a very smart guy.
Grace Kelly very beautiful always.
I’ll get you my pretty, and and your little dog too!
One of the scariest moments in the movie!! NOT Toto!! 😱
