Not at all Kendra, sometimes I struggle picturing the image coloured. When I can’t picture the colours in my mind I try to pick one element I can colour even if it’s just grass or trees and then as I go along I pick colours that will match. So instead of looking at the page as a whole just pick out elements 😁

After watching your flip-thru and review of this book, I pre-ordered it from Amazon U.S. for $14.99 and it should ship April 4th. I really like a lot, if not most, of the pages in this book; which is rare. Sometimes when I buy a book, I end up only liking a few pages in it, but not this one judging by your flip-thru...TYFS!
Hi Cheryl, I feel the same. There’s maybe one or two pages I don’t feel like I’d colour, which is rare 😁
@@MyColourfulCountryLife I hope the U.S. version has decent paper in it. We (U.S.) seem to get the subpar, lightweight paper and the glue bound books, instead of the better quality paper and stitched bound books. I could always print it on better paper if I need to. The pricing sounds crazy. I pre-ordered it back in August from Book Depository for only $13.41 US. The strangest thing is, that when my book shipped it came from Australia, instead of from the UK. I think the book is beautiful!
We have a distribution centre here in Australia so I don’t know why it’s so expensive for us to order lol

I received mine in the US yesterday from BD. The paper change breaks my heart. I’m using Black Widows on my first page and it’s just not as smooth of a glide. On the other hand, I agree with you...COL is my favorite all time book, and this book appears magical like COL. I’ve enjoyed NM, but not in love with it like COL.
Did you purchase the US copy or the UK? I’m wondering if the US copy has better paper?
@@MyColourfulCountryLife I got the UK version from Book Depository. I love the sewn binding the UK version has opposed to the glued binding of the US version. I’m wondering the same about the US version! If the paper hasn’t changed in that version, I will for sure get a second copy.😅
Yeah I agree, the stitch binding is so much nicer. The paper in the UK edition is still great quality, it’s just thin. I’d say it’d be an issue maybe with markers or watercolours but the book is single sided so I think even if the US edition has the old thicker paper I’d still prefer the UK edition.

I'm excited for this book to come out at the end of the month, it's so pretty. The UK edition is £27.98 on Book Depository and £9.67 on Amazon. Not sure why it's such a different price, I have noticed things being expensive on Book Depository recently though.

It is a beautiful book, I’m sure the price hikes must be a shipping issue and prices increased to cover their “free shipping” lol
@@MyColourfulCountryLife I contacted them about their recent price hike and they said it is an issue of supply mainly as the supplier is increasing the prices so they had to increase it accordingly
Ah ok. Interesting that they’re the only ones upping the prices though. Also if they’re affiliated with Amazon, would they not source the same suppliers?
@@MyColourfulCountryLife I agree. It is odd that no one else increased the prices like they did. Perhaps the answer I received was a general answer. Funny they sell much more expensive than Amazon. Well, I won't be buying from them with these insane prices.

I like the illustrations and I pre-ordered the book, but I am not too crazy about the really dark lines in each picture. I have the same problem with her mandala book. I love the Circle of Life book.
The lines remind me more of Circle of Life. I did find they seemed darker in Nature Mandalas or maybe thicker 😊

Yeah I think that’s why I love her work so much. Although the illustrations are quite different there is a similar vibe. 😁

Hi hun, In UK we have a shop called The Works and this book is selling for £6 which I believe is €10.99 Australian Dollars? Is this conversion right if so there’s a huge difference isn’t there. So to any of your UK subscribers check out your local The Works or go their Online shop to get your copy for £6 - They are also selling Kerby Rosanes Alien Worlds for £5 with free delivery. Hope this helps you guys save some money as Amazon prices are going through the roof on these books xx cheers Ness

Ooh ok, I’ve heard everyone talking about that book, I keep meaning to check out a flip through 😁 I like RJ’s work his illustrations are so cute. It is Amazon paper though. The only thing that puts me off buying all of them is that they have doubles of each image, so my books will never be fully complete lol
@@MyColourfulCountryLife I totally get it. I thought about that too. Some people like the double pictures for different reasons, but the paper quality is the most frustrating. I would rather pay more for better paper. It's like having a nicer canvas to work on you know? But still, in my humble opinion, Hanson is a nice addition for a coloring book library. Yeah I agree, I have his Forest Song book which is my favourite and I bought his Christmas book last year but didn’t get a chance to colour in it over Christmas 😁
What an amazing book. I don't order from The Book Depositry, I find they are a bit pricey. Amazon Australia is good enough for me. If you wait long enough you can pick up so pretty good deals. TFS💖

I pre-ordered mine on Amazon for $16.08 (including tax). I don't know why it was cheaper for me, unless I got a good deal for pre ordering it. But anyway, it says it's not released until April 4th and it will be delivered on April 6th! I can't wait! I just got Circle of Life but haven't had a chance to color in it yet!

A LOT of UK editions of coloring books have doubled or tripled recently. I can’t figure out exactly what is going on….is it shipping? Or is Amazon (who OWNS Book Depository) squeezing buyers to US publishers that they have deals with? I want to know if the UK book has sewn binding? Paper quality? vs US versions. Honestly, I’m in the US but I almost always buy UK editions of coloring books to get the sewn binding and better paper. But the price difference is now horrifying!
Prices of UK edition on Book Depository is just insanely high! UK edition is the preferred one due to the binding
@@mazinya The pricing isn’t consistent though. I’m in the US and the pre order for Kerby Rosannes’ Alien Worlds is 14.04 for the UK edition, and 16.47 for the US edition (both are USD prices). Definitely a WTH thing for me!
Ooh yeah good point! I usually check both sites and another Aussie site Booktopia and go with quickest delivery and most reasonably priced. I’d say the US is most likely still glue bound only but I’m curious to the paper quality.

My "problem" with her illustrations is that some of the things are hard to understand what they are so it makes it difficult to know how to color it. But the illustrations are amazing. Very Kerby like
Yeah I get that. I find breaking down the elements to colour one thing at a time starting with bigger elements helps me to figure out what is what 😊

Karen, what is your opinion on the thick black lines of her books? It definitely helps with shading but do you feel it is too much? Does it bother you?
I think her style or illustrations look really cool with the thicker lines. My personal preference though is for finer lines, I find it easier to colour and get the picture to pop 😁
Why all the new books have liq quality paper. I thought the publishers would have looked for better papers now. I fear the next books will have amazone low quality paper.😔
I don’t know. I’m assuming it’s related to cost or maybe lack of materials. But I don’t know. I love the paper in Kerby’s other books. The paper in itself still works the same with my pencils. It’s just thinner
