this song really hits me on a deep and personal level. me my brother and my friends are always getting stoned and other shit in our backyard and it used to be fun and we would all get along, but eventually everybody started paying more attention to my brother and kinda just left me in the background and nobody really talked to me or paid attention to me anymore. I was always being ignored and pushed away. these lyrics are so amazing and I'm so in love with them

I’m in 9th grade and I had a best friend.. but she started to talk a lot with this girl.. they were a lot alike and it got to the point to when I tried to talk to her she’d ignore me. I don’t know what I did to get that.. I’m basically just walking with them and just saying nothing the whole time. Watching them laugh like I used to with her makes me want to go back to the good times. This is basically very relatable especially “cause nobody seems to ask about me anymore and nobody ever cares ‘bout what I think”

When I was in elementary school I had a friend who I was really close with but after a while we started to drift apart. Now It's always awkward to see each other. We barely even make Eye contact any more. It's best to move on and find others that care for you.

This song is really special in its own way, its lyrics is just amazing, I can't even find words to describe how fascinating this song is, it is really unique and definitely my favourite song of Halsey.
When I was in about 2nd grade I was so.....care free....it felt like everybody loved me I prayed every time i got up and when I went to bed. I moved to a new school in 6th grade....that's when everything went down hill. I turned invisible, it felt like...I was "fading away" Every day they would find a flaw with the way I looked. There would be some days where I would overeat and some days I would skip meals...I was even having suicidal thoughts.I also stopped praying I didn't see a point anymore. I moved out of that school but I still struggle with my self esteem....wondering if they actually like me. But I'm trying to get better. Thx for reading all that

When I was young, I used to be able to actually initiate conversation, please people, do what they want me to do, be who they want me to be. But as I grew older it just crashed. I kept failing, I developed depression and anxiety, couldn’t talk to people anymore, I hated myself. I changed. It was like I’m a star that just died, something that people pitied, before I was completely forgotten. I never felt like my parents loved me anymore, they’d always complain about my grades, why I have no major achievements. And I just couldn’t say anything. I’m just sitting in the corner, wearing a mask of a smile, but screaming “help”. But no one ever rlly listened. I lost all my friends because of my depression. They said I was faking it, I was an attention whore, as if they know how it feels to lie awake at night, thinking it would be better if you were gone. And now I’m just here. Nobody notices me, nobody cares. “And I’m faded away, you know I used to be on fire” I want to relight that fire, I want to be normal again, rise like a phoenix from the ashes. I try to be strong, but it hurts. The wings I try to rebuild just melt again. And yeah. Sorry for the story, I just wanted to get that out of my chest, even just here.

It spoke to me bc I've been dealing with self harm for years since I was 12 and now that my mental state is stable I've been clean from self harm for almost a year. I'm so proud of myself honestly bc I'm 21 now and if I can fight depression, then so can you!! Stay strong beautiful/handsome cause you are worth it!! I love you❤

I used to be really popular before I went to highschool everyone loved me and my brother was also popular. We used to be called the twins or the pine twins due to our favourite show Gravity Falls and how much we are so much alike the twins on that show anyway so we moved to highschool and my friends ditch me an I'm just passing. My twin doesn't have to worry about that because he is an A+ student always has been he's got good friends and mine just ditched me I only have my anime friends who I'm super greatful for but we rarely see eachother anymore. My mother calls us the left and right side of the brain,my twin being the left being smart and athletic and I'm the right with all the personality and colours. I love my brother and I always will but it hurts our 13th birthday is coming up and I'm surprised I made it to 13 I was contemplating suicide when I was just 11 so I'm scared what if I don't make it to 20...

I know I'm late, but you will make it through. I'm turning 22 in two months; a little under ten years ago, I tried to kill myself. Even though I didn't succeed, my brain was flooded with ways to try again. Every single day was a struggle not to give in or give up--I had to set asinine goals every day (like, finish level X on a video game, or finish two chapters of a book I was reading) to make sure I stayed alive.
I got through it; you will too. I wasn't the strongest or most determined person (I would actually say I was fairly weak-willed), but I managed to keep myself alive.

As far as English-speaking countries go, secondary school (roughly equivilant to America's high school) begins at the age of eleven in England; Australia begins secondary school at 12.

Hey don't worry. You'll find people who appreciate one day. I know it. And till then just be happy . I know it's hard sometimes ( more like all the time ) when you are so used to feeling sad or mad . But being happy is easier. Or at least that is what I heard people say. I haven't tried out yet but sometimes when I'm with music the pain disappears it is like magic so good. Do it. Well since we're sharing sob stories: My best friend used to call me pretty often, but a new girl joined the school (about 3 months ago). She's been hanging out with her more so than me lately and now I have to call her to communicate outside of school. Yesterday we talked for about 12 minutes after *I* called *her* before she said she would call me back. She didn't call me back. This is the third time this has happened.
I can definitely relate to this. It’s happened to me back when I was in high school. It hurts to feel like you’re being replaced and I’m sorry this is happening. This isn’t right and those who do that irritate me, to be honest.

About two years ago I was in a very toxic relationship that made me actually turn anorexic. I went from being 190 lb to 95 in a matter of 4 months. I finally left him when he cheated on me and I went to the hospital to get help but This song reminds me of everything that relationship did to me and it makes me remember why I can never go back to being like that. Anorexia and a shit alcoholic boyfriend made me a shadow of myself.

I use to lead a very active lifestyle but when I turned 28 I found out I has multiple chronic illnesses. I put on a lot of weight and have barely been able to get out of bed. I used to be the party animal, wild and crazy, young and fun. Now, I lost all my friends because my body is in so much pain I have to take my walker every time I leave my house. I am broken and I will never get fixed.

A few years ago a lot of people I now that diagnosed with Depression... I've been through a lot of hard things and when I was a kid I was told I had depression but I always stayed strong and was denial of being upset or needing to take meds.. Recently I've started falling apart, everything I thought made me strong turned against me. My friends are leaving cuz of what I'm turning into. Idk who I am anymore 😂😭
