I have a story for this song... Basically, A young girl was beloved by all those around her because of her beauty and innocence. Everyone wanted her on the throne of the oppressive kingdom in hopes she would save them but what they didn't know is this was what the king had planned all along. He had wanted to keep his daughter as naive and innocent as possible so that he could control her and the kingdom. On her 15th birthday, the Princess is betrothed to a horrible man 30 years older than her, a friend of the king. Upon discovering this, the Princess refuses and challenges her father only for him to tell her to 'keep her pretty mouth shut'. So the Princess tries to run away but the king anticipated this and locked the kingdom up. Then the Princess got smart and decided that she'd go along with her father's wants, after all the moment she's married she's Queen. She marries the man her father wants but soon both men realise that they no longer have any power of the girl. She outrank them and has them imprisoned for treason. Thus saving her kingdom. A story to go along with the song. The tyrant king's wife gave birth to a stillborn, so he secretly traded one of the maid's newborn children with his. Sadly, the queen died during childbirth. She grows older, having no knowledge of her true heritage, raised by the maid who is her true mother, and every night, while tucking the princess in for bed, the maid sings her agnus dei as a reminder to always be kind. But the king notices how close the two are, and fears the maid will reveal his secret, so he has her assassinated. The young girl is devastated, and without the maid's guidance is paraded around in front of a kingdom soon to be hers, but as she grows into a teenager, she begins to resent it. And because she resents it, she becomes very mean and spoiled. Eventually the princess turns the people against her with her horrible attitude, and is kidnapped by her true father who tells her who she really is. She becomes angry, she knows everything now. Including what her 'father' the king did to her nanny, her mother. The kingdom is on lockdown, the king is frantically trying to find his daughter, all the times he told her to be nicer to the people flash in his head. A few hours later, she walks up the steps to the front door of the castle, and into the throne room, ready to confront the king. He orders everyone to leave them alone, and the princess blows up, yelling at the king. He slowly gets up from his throne and grabs her face, telling her to watch what she says, and if needed, he could always find another heir. He locks her in the dungeon, telling the guards she's been brainwashed. Days pass, and the only one to even slightly talk to her is the serving boy who brings her her meals. While trapped, she reflects on her life and starts singing the song her nanny, no - her mother, would sing to her. It attracts the serving boy, and the princess tells him how she regrets being so horrid, and how she would change it all if she could. The serving boy helps her escape, and she runs to her true father, who is the leader of the rebellion. She regains the trust of the people and trains to be a warrior. A year passes, and the time has come. The final battle to usurp the king. The rebellion army marches towards the castle, with the intent of crowning a new queen, for even if she has no royal blood, the people were now on her side. The rebellion meets the royal army in front of the castle and there's a bloody battle, with losses on both sides. But while the princess is fighting with her people, the king is hiding in his castle. The princess clears a path in and sets put to find him. When she goes into the throne room, he's sitting in his throne made of the bones of enemies, and he tells her she won't be able to kill him, for he was her father and raised her her whole life. She thinks back to all the times he yelled at her for doing the slightest thing wrong, and how he mercilessly beat her for not being good enough. How she was taught to never cry, for it was a weakness. The princess narrows her eyes and with a growl, comments "watch me." Then follows a swordfight, which isn't much of a contest between the old king and the young princess. She runs him through with his sword, and whispers in his ear "probably shouldn't have been so mean." She's celebrated for killing the dictator king and becomes queen, as he had no living family. She makes her own throne, out of the king's bones, and as the crown is placed on her head, she smirks. "Straight for the castle." She thinks. ~Fin~

It's also sadly, (albeit a tad ironically) accurate once you consider all of the potential physical and mental/psychological trauma that Loki would have gone through/been going through due in no small part to Thanos. I think in this sense, if we did indeed put Loki as the song singer/narrator, it would cause the last line in the song to be ..... bittersweet. It's bittersweet because, for Thor, he's literally losing the only other family member he had left. Not to mention the fact that, he'd be forced to witness his brother's death a second time. However, at the same time, Loki can finally be somewhat at peace with himself. At peace with the knowledge that for now at least, his brother is safe.
@@kfox773 that was ✨deep✨ and so true. His trauma goes far deeper than we originally thought in the Avengers once you actually put the pieces together. The mental strain was far from desirable, even for someone like Loki.

He not only put himself through mental and emotional torment, but more than likely physical torture as well. We saw that he could take a beating, and still somewhat keep a straight face in Avengers after literally getting "Hulk-smashed". But considering just how horrifyingly strong (with and without the infinity gauntlet) Thanos is, I can't help but feel as though it might be highly likely that Loki experienced it first hand. I have no doubt that Loki would've felt cornered with no way out. But considering just how clever and sly Loki is, he certainly would have been able to force himself to keep going through just sheer willpower alone. Thor would have probably gone looking for Loki, regardless of whether he showed up on "Midgard" , I feel like Loki's whole focus during Avengers was "Get brother to focus on me; then hopefully ..... come out of this alive."

A few hours later, she walks up the steps to the front door of the castle, and into the throne room, ready to confront the king. He orders everyone to leave them alone, and the princess blows up, yelling at the king. He slowly gets up from his throne and grabs her face, telling her to watch what she says, and if needed, he could always find another heir. He locks her in the dungeon, telling the guards she's been brainwashed. Days pass, and the only one to even slightly talk to her is the serving boy who brings her her meals. While trapped, she reflects on her life and starts singing the song her nanny, no - her mother, would sing to her. It attracts the serving boy, and the princess tells him how she regrets being so horrid, and how she would change it all if she could. The serving boy helps her escape, and she runs to her true father, who is the leader of the rebellion. She regains the trust of the people and trains to be a warrior. A year passes, and the time has come. The final battle to usurp the king. The rebellion army marches towards the castle, with the intent of crowning a new queen, for even if she has no royal blood, the people were now on her side. The rebellion meets the royal army in front of the castle and there's a bloody battle, with losses on both sides. But while the princess is fighting with her people, the king is hiding in his castle. The princess clears a path in and sets put to find him. When she goes into the throne room, he's sitting in his throne made of the bones of enemies, and he tells her she won't be able to kill him, for he was her father and raised her her whole life. She thinks back to all the times he yelled at her for doing the slightest thing wrong, and how he mercilessly beat her for not being good enough. How she was taught to never cry, for it was a weakness. The princess narrows her eyes and with a growl, comments "watch me." Then follows a swordfight, which isn't much of a contest between the old king and the young princess. She runs him through with his sword, and whispers in his ear "probably shouldn't have been so mean." She's celebrated for killing the dictator king and becomes queen, as he had no living family. She makes her own throne, out of the king's bones, and as the crown is placed on her head, she smirks. "Straight for the castle." She thinks.

It's also sadly, (albeit a tad ironically) accurate once you consider all of the potential physical and mental/psychological trauma that Loki would have gone through/been going through due in no small part to Thanos. I think in this sense, if we did indeed put Loki as the song singer/narrator, it would cause the last line in the song to be ..... bittersweet. It's bittersweet because, for Thor, he's literally losing the only other family member he had left. Not to mention the fact that, he'd be forced to witness his brother's death a second time. However, at the same time, Loki can finally be somewhat at peace with himself. At peace with the knowledge that for now at least, his brother is safe.

He not only put himself through mental and emotional torment, but more than likely physical torture as well. But considering just how horrifyingly strong (with and without the infinity gauntlet) Thanos is, I can't help but feel as though it might be highly likely that Loki experienced it first hand. I have no doubt that Loki would've felt cornered with no way out. But considering just how clever and sly Loki is, he certainly would have been able to force himself to keep going through just sheer willpower alone. Thor would have probably gone looking for Loki, regardless of whether he showed up on "Midgard" , I feel like Loki's whole focus during Avengers was "Get brother to focus on me; then hopefully ..... come out of this alive."
