Smokey Bear 80th Anniversary Free Camping BLM Land in New Mexico

This was the town of Captan New Mexico 80th Anniversary of Smokey Bear. It's His hometown it has a museum there all about Him. So if You are ever in the area check it out.

Thanks for another sightseeing video, I was born in 1956 I not only remember the mascot Smokey the Bear for the National Forest preserves but the Yogi and Boo-Boo cartoons as well, I don't know why but every time I hear about Smokey the Bear I think of Yogi and Boo-Boo,lol .

I know Smokey the Bear, I was born in 1960. He was on TV when I was a kid helping prevent forest fires and I would see him on all the signs when we went on camping trips with the YMCA. Thanks again for a great video.

Nice. Back home on the ranch I would walk out my front door, look to the south east and see Capitan Gap - where Smokey was rescued after the fire. Your videos making me a touch home sick. And that's just fine. I could be here for an hour or two typing about that area and just be getting started.

Thank you for sharing! You said you have a friend that work camps. Have you ever work camped or thought of work camping? Any positives or negatives about it that you can share with us? I was thinking when I retire that I might work camp at Virginia state parks, my home state, at least once a year to give me something to do. I also want to travel the country like you are doing but only a few months a year.
