Rarely do we find such a knowledgeable and competent man willing to devote the time to produce an excellent tutorial on a Samsung tablet to help the average man in the street. Thanks a bunch for making one of the best videos on Ebay.

No long intro. No annoying background "music". Excellent speaking and enunciation. If only everyone that posted tutorials did so with the same degree of excellence as you do.
    Excellent video.

This has got to be one of 'THE' greatest tutorials/strip downs I have come across and also used. Your pace is great, the sound is clear, the voice is calm. The instruction thorough and accurate. the video is explicit and without fault or flaw. While I have replaced the battery before, the deep dive to replace the lcd screen on one of these is a first for me. The transplant was 100% successful and the patient lives again. This would not have gone to a repair shop but would have been scrapped so another little one for the planet as well. Thank you for posting this up

Even today where tech as evolved so much over the years I still get many of these in to repair. This is by far the best most informative instructional video to date covering the galaxy note 10.1 series and refer to this whenever i'm unsure about anything.

can you help me? how to fix all black screen. i dissasemble and put in new case and then the screen was all black even i charge it it's always black and the side's of screen just a little light poping around.

Check the flex is correctly inserted in both lcd and main board and the pins are undamaged.
It could mean the lcd has become faulty and would need to be replaced . My advice is to search for a replacement lcd in it's frame or replace the tablet completely. I do sell refurbished and repaired models of these on eBay but I don't normally ship abroad

    Fantastic video. 10/10.
It was the first time I ever had changed a notepad screen. Total success.
I disassembled and replaced the broken digitiser for only £8 when my 6 yr old daughter used my galaxy note 10.1 n8010, as a trampoline lol.
I was going to just remove the digitiser but thought it was safer to remove the screen first, incase I scratched or cracked it, costing more money.
This was a brilliant step by step video. I would not have attempted it if I had not had this video running as I performed the repair.
(I even used a hair dryer with direction nozzle to soften the double sided tape, as there was less chance of melting the plastic surround than using a powerful heat gun lol)
It has saved me a fortune, if I had brought it to a screen repair shop I'm sure they would have said the screen needed replacing as well etc etc

THANK YOU!!!! I dropped my Note 10.1 (Off the top of my car, with no case on it), and fortunately, it didn't harm the screen, or the function of the tablet, but I knocked my whole frame and back out of alignment, and I could not get them back in alignment....UNTIL I watched the video, and did this within 10 minutes. THANK YOU!

It is hard to find videos of someone who really knows their stuff and not a hack where you can ruin your stuff. The way this guy handles the cables and everything, you can tell he knows his stuff. Great instructions.

The tutorial is nothing short of excellent. I'd dropped my Galaxy Note 10.1 N8010 and had distorted colour initially. The tutorial showed in detail how to remove the back cover, which i would have struggled to do without damaging the unit. Later in the video it clearly showed how to disconect the leads and in my case it was the screen video leads that I had to check. Having removed both ends of the lead and then re-connecting, replacing the cover, my tablet is up and running good as new. I did have to uncheck inverted colour in the settings;accessories. I've saved a minimum of £60 re Insurance excess or maybe £100 in a repair shop. Thankyou LE55ONS.

I have no words to explain how this video saved my day. I am feeling myself as a galaxy technician. Awesome awesome help!!
No body tells (may be nobody knows) how to fit the ribbon connectors on Galaxy tab. My tab's touch screen was not working. I watched many videos, read many so called expert forums but all in vain. Technician asked for $80.00 to repair. But after watching this video I dissembled my tab, insert the ribbons properly; magic happened; it's all good and working Awesome!!

Tnx ..fixed my son's broken screen following your good instructions. Removed first the small cover and the 3 screews. Then losen the back-cover, used the plastic knife as you instructed, then remove power plug by twist the plastic knife below the rightmost black cables. Turned the pad around and used the heat gun and a knife and worked around the broken glass. Use tape to reduce glass to mess around and protect fingers and your eyes! TNX a lot for good instructions!

Thanks so much for this tutorial. I dropped my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 earlier this week and I wasn't sure what to do. I didn't want to pay for repairs since the tablet is old, so I thought I would take a stab at it and repair it myself. If I screw it up, then I would just buy a new tablet. Luckily that wasn't the case!!! Your tutorial saved this grad student a nice chunk of change!

+Dry Bonez I actually didn't use the heat screwdriver because I was able to put things back together with no issue.

Dude! You rock! This is the most awesome DIY video i have ever come across. And I am a big time DIY guy so i have seen many. Your description of how to disassemble / reassemble was flawless. Thanks for describing each and every part - it really helped. Your video and audio quality is top notch. Even your simple suggestion on using a platic knife instead of metallic tool was brilliantly thoughtful.
My 1 year old kid dropped my tablet. Screen colors went awry and hundreds of horizontal lines appeared. I opened the tablet as you described (upto removing the docking station, just before you broke the plastic locks - I didnt open the display section) and I think the display ribbon cable was a bit loose from the drop. I just put everything back together and voila!! Its working perfect. $0 on parts or labour. And I throughly enjoyed this. Feels great to DIY and see things work out well.
Thanks a TON for this video. Keep making more of this.

Will be nice to know how to do this so I can use my battery more freely without fear of ruining the device for the future :)

incredible tutorial/walkthrough!!! I've never worked on small electronics before. just an old desktop computer once many years ago (clicked in a stick of ram) that's all the experience I have working on electronics. So to make a long story short, an any crawled inside between the digitizer and LCD and then died there. drove me crazy having that directly in the middle of the screen, I couldn't stand it a minute longer so I quit using my tablet over a year ago because of this. then I decided I'm either going to get that damned ant out of there or get a new tablet, so I figured why not hit a few forums before you give up on it. so I googled "ant under screen galaxy note 10.1) and to my surprise I found someone else who had the exact same thing happen to their note 10.1. I read the thread and there was a link to the video in it. I followed the link and watched the video and at first i thought nevermind, it seemed very daunting. but instead of giving up, I ordered the tools I needed from Amazon and waited a couple days and when they arrived I just dove right into the project with the guidance of this video (of course) I made sure to keep things organized and in order as I removed each piece, I would also write a brief description about that particular step. just as I began removing the glass (my last step) my internet quit so I was left to reassemble everything on my own..... thankfully I kept notes on this extremely detailed video and was able to work my list backwards and put it back together successfully. sans ant! I charged it for a moment and hit the power up button and the screen came one, then the sound come thru, and everything seemed to be great.
I would've junked this tablet since it is older tablet, and had a dead ant and all. But since I was able to get the correct tools and and use this video, I was able to fix it! I think I might go ahead and root it too and it'll become a daily used tech device.... thank you so much saved me a bunch of money and I do like this tablet so I didn't want to trash it, just yet. so thank you very much for making this walkthrough!

Thank you for such videos. was able to get my 2014 edition note 10.1 working by simply removing and placing the LCD cable more securely. Couldn't have done it without such videos. Though of course i had to fill in certain blanks but this video was of great help.
