I'm one of those people who think regular black pepper is hot, hahaha. But, I still watch and enjoy learning about using peppers for making stuff like this. My mom and brother both love the hot sauces/peppery things. So this would be something I'd make them for gifts, etc. Thank you for sharing the process, Jennifer! 💚
This one isn't so spicy. If you make it give it a little try. Of course I know it depends on the potency of your peppers. I just used store bought peppers and even with the seeds in it wasn't bad. 🙂
They are pretty reasonably priced on Amazon. I am about to order a 1 gallon sized one. I love them. Never had any issue with molding as long as I make sure the water in the lid never goes dry.
What is this sharing thing you speak of???? I am an only child, now divorced and we didn’t have kids. I am the living embodiment of the seagulls from Finding Nemo.. MINE…. MINE…..MINE This looks amazing and delicious. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Yeah. If you use a high powered blender its a sauce. My ten dollar amazon special isn't that great lol. It's still very good though, I don't mind it being chunkier.
@@letssummondinner One has to be careful, too much can be too much. Just blended a cherry/cowhorn 2 week ferment. It’s different. I have a bunch of green jalapeños and I’m tired of poppers, lol. I had been told not to use green peppers because it makes it “bitter”, but I think they were misinformed. That’s why I watched your video, thanks btw. Sometimes the vinegar can make it a bit thin, so I add about an 1/8 teaspoon of xanthan gum, which has the added benefit of keeping it from separating as bad. Thanks again, my jalapeños will start tomorrow.
@@choccolocco I think that the vinegar is a fantastic idea. I really like this sauce so I am gonna try it with vinegar next time. I think the acid would be fantastic. FYI it isn't bitter at all.
@@letssummondinner Good to know. I use a cup of brine. One cup white vinegar will do it, two cups will give it a good twang. Sometimes two is too much, better to taste it as you go, as I went with two and it’s a little bit more than I prefer, but the wife likes it. Thanks again for the video.
Great measuring what percentage of salt are you putting into? The water is a 2 1/2 three 3 1/2 for what is the ratio for the salt
2 Quarts of water gets 4 tablespoons of canning salt.
I have jalapeño plants and am so excited to make this!
Let me know how you like it :)
Me too, so excited
I LOVE that pickle jar!
Thank you! It is quite special to me.
Hot sauce looks great!

I love this!! I have some fermented peppers and I’m gonna try it tonight❤️😁
Nice! I hope you like it!

That Chinese fermenting jar is a good tip, I will look out for one

Thanks! You don't haaaaaaaaaaave to share, just hoard it to yourself like a hot sauce dragon lol.
That's more of a salsa than a sauce. 😉

Thanks for watching
I add a bit of vinegar just to make sure it stops the fermentation.
That is totally an option ☺️
