Waterfowl hunting is seriously addictive. Nice to see someone get into it for the first time. My best piece of advice for any rookie waterfowl hunter is that hunting in a spot where they already want to be is far more important than being a great caller, having lots of decoys, etc. Good luck, and have fun!

That right there was really cool Kaitlyn! Trying the call for the first on camera was so funny, its nice that you're not afraid to be real, love it! Don't worry you have enough appreciative viewers that you don't have to comment on the haters, keep up the relatable content and many more will subscribe!

Congratulations! Enjoy it, it’s the most fun you’ll have especially going with friends.
    A few tips though-
Try to keep your face down or use face paint. You’ll have a lot of eyes looking at you, and it’ll stick out like crazy. We run into that issue taking kids hunting a lot haha. Also, if you think you’re leaking them enough, give it a bit more. And 3rd, leave a landing pocket in your decoys, like a “j” with the hook of the j where you want them to land and the long end acting as a wall so they don’t go past you. And don’t be afraid to move decoys if they’re not responding the way you want, a small change can make big results.
Just have fun, and I’m looking forward to watching the learning process!

Really awesome to get into this on your own volition like this - great content and nice hunt (congrats on two beautiful honkers). Couple of things to suggest: 1. Often people lead geese by too much (may explain the misses - if you have a tactacam or shotkam they can be helpful for working that out, otherwise use the wad path), 2. Make sure you pattern and your choke is right for the sorts of distance of shots you are taking - these weren't in the easy decoying range, so if you were under-choked that might mean you just arent getting enough density of shot on target - Canadas can be tough.

Been goose hunting for about 10 years now. Few tips.. SCOUTING IS EVERYTHING. Be where THEY wanna be not where YOU want them to be. More decoys is usually better (silhouettes are cheaper, lighter and work just as good ), 2 shot is better than BB, use layouts in shorter fields and A-frames in fence rows, brush and tree lines, birds will LAND into the wind so set up accordingly, and as a beginner try to let them land so you can shoot the first one on the ground and have easier follow up shots as they slowly jump up. And yes the birds were a bit too far. If you gotta lead them more than the tip of their beak then don’t worry about shooting them. Love seeing people get into it but I gotta agree with the others.. crack is cheaper and less addictive so be careful 😉

That's freaking awesome. Everybody has to start somewhere but most people too worried about looking cool on TH-cam. It's refreshing to see some humility on here for a change haha. My experience with wing shooting is that if I'm missing...99% of the time I'm not leading them enough. Once I started shooting skeet pretty regularly it helped me work on getting my lead better. Goose are a different story though because they are a lot farther than ducks/dove so I definitely don't have any experience with that! Good job and congrats!

Knockin' em down no matter where they roam, thats awesome!! I think the best teachers are the animals themselves. I've listened to turkeys in the spring and greatly improved my calling game, I'm sure geese are no different

Haydel's called are awesome. Made on the opposite side of North Louisiana from Duck Commander. About 90 miles apart. Been friends with Rod Haydel for years. They make a deer grunt that I love. It has soft flex tube on it so it can be played like an instrument. You inhale on it instead of blowing on it.

Goose hunting is a blast! Fun seeing you so excited on a new hunt. When shooting at a fast moving target, it helps to keep your barrel following the flight path when you pull the trigger and continue to follow through after the shot. I find it helpful to remind myself, until my target stops neither should my barrel. With practice one will be able to shoot surprisingly well with just eye hand coordination, hands following with the eyes. This helps prevent misses and keeps your eyes on your target if you need a follow up shot. Thanks for sharing! 🦢

For geese a goose flag is your best friend better than a call. Hide well and flag at them some they should come on if you are on the X like you mentioned in your video watching them come into your field! It’s fun to watch you blow in the call reminds me of my wife and sisters trying to blow on my calls lol! For ducks definitely buy a mojo. I’m gonna suggest to get a dove mojo they are way cheaper and work just as good
