@@virtuaguyverify I live in Central NC and have taken plenty of deer with rifle and a couple black powder. The reason I haven't ever taken a deer with a bow is pretty interesting, actually. I got a bow for my 15th birthday and spent 3 years practicing with it. I got good, and I mean GOOOD at slingin arrows. I could stack 5-6 inside a 20 oz. soda bottle at fifty yards all day long. At that point I was 18 and felt comfortable going hunting the next year with my bow. Then one night someone kicked in the door to my parents' house and stole everything in the garage. They got a Honda generator, a riding lawn mower, my mountain bike, and my bow. It SUCKED. We didn't have any photos of the bow so the insurance company wouldn't pay for a replacement and at the time we weren't the most affluent people in the world and couldn't afford to get a replacement. I finally got a replacement bow about a year and a half ago as a second hand bow from a friend of a friend who upgraded his. I've been practicing again and working on my aim so hopefully in the next year or two I'll be ready to get in the woods with some arrows again. So hopefully in the next year or two I'll be able to punch this ticket. We'll see.

Became a football coach and never got to hunt with the bow because gun season would open up about the time football season ended. Retired three years ago and just now started shooting a bow again. I’ve killed two in the last three years and I’ve hooked again.
Isn't it nice when a plan comes together, I was wondering about all the branches in front of you it looked crowded but that was a perfect placed shot. It sure stunned that doe,she went down quick proof of a good hit.

Great idea tanning the hide! I picked up a road kill spike a few weeks ago with the flawless hide in mind. He went to the chickens and critters and the hide is in the freezer.
Always good when it goes from boring to exciting in a flash! Congratulations! I’m now in the situation where I don’t want to go smaller than the 8 I got 3 years ago, after switching from bow to muzzle loader for that shotgun season, of course, it was a 25 yard chip shot. 🤷🏼

How do you feel about the thumb grip release compared to index/finger release? I've started bow hunting since 2020 and only for a month per year since our rifle is open most of the time. I use the finger release and wanted to try the thumb but don't know if it is a good investment. Thanks if you can help guide! To anyone and to Kaitlyn who help.
Lol the doe dance in stand. Dog and i walked up on a nice 12 pt. In grass. He just got up. Looked at us. And walked off. Thats when i saw he was blind in one eye. Got in a fight. You just keep on enjoying the hunts. Ill keep enjoying your hunts to. 💏
