I'm currently at 109,3 hours and 11 imprints and I'm still not bored because every time I get a new Imprint everything gets a little bit easier and faster. Also great video :-)
Forget that i have 500 hours in MPN, all achievements finished, 20 imprints, 2 extra arena characters, and i even finished both campaign with a friend, boy does he love to look cool, and not care about his stats
@@birbbirdbrid1149 playing arena far too many times, but if you want to be specific, try and have fun in arena, create the S.Q gang (hank, sanford etc) by buying the armor and stuff that they use in the story modes, somehow this is fun, i have no ideas anymore because i have about 25 imprints and I’m bored, heck even multiplayer isn’t that too fun to me now because some parts for multiplayer are broken and you are only limited to move due to the screen being, well the screen PS: don’t do the steam remote play, its far too laggy to be enjoyable, I’d recommend using parsec or you could do couch co op which is what i do, thanks frien
I had plenty of fun catapulting myself down the stairs with a ragdolled charge attack. I guess it could be used to shave some seconds off of a speedrun, though the home base would be the only good place to use it in.
you can also ragdoll to get unstuck! during the earlier days of the games release, getting stuck on the rails on foundry was a pretty big issue for some players, myself included turns out, ragdolling can pop you right out of sticky spots like that!
To be honest the "not switch weapons on their own" for the AI buddies is actually nice (at least for me) because whenever I run out of ammo, have broken weapons, or need a ranged attack I switch over to that character and still have ammo or weapons in good condition.
This game was a Time Sink for me, +300 Hours, However with that said, I was a Beta Tester who got to play the game when the Story Mode was being worked on, and the Arena Mode went through 3 rebrands(third one being what we currently have). Before I talk about my stances of the game, I'll say I only got into Madness completely after finding Project Nexus Flash and then watching Krinkel's animations, I grew up with Thing Thing and Bunny Kill beforehand. Technical aspects of the game, the AI buddies are braindead due to the coder of the game making them dumbed down so they don't do all the work for you as this was something various beta testers said was a OP aspect prior to the dumbing down(I just liked going rambo mode, because the first rebrand I experienced was basically Noob but with *EVERY* ability at the time). The ragdoll thing you talked about is something incase you get stuck somewhere, as my experiences in the beta had many points where you can get stuck even over the most menial of spots. In the early full release of the game, I 100% the game on Singleplayer(Yes, playing Madness difficulty for all Story Mode and Arena Maps, and slaughtering +50K Victims) and you can definitely beat the game as a single player, and if you're a masochist you can go back and redo the story on Madness after beating it on Hard. Story Mode: My favorite of the two because of how grindy the Arena Mode was prior to release(+250 enemies in the last two waves on Slaughter Time) and was soured for me because of that. It's genuinely good and I like going from room to room killing enemies like an actual MC animation. The dialogue made this so much better as well, with the voice acting being top notch(FYI, live action Hank from the trailer and Deimo's voice actor in the game are done by the same guy), and being humorous at times. Arena Mode: Where my soured experience is going into swing. I'll preface this now; the mode is still good, and to many, it is better. But during Beta for me it was anything but that after my first imprint with Noob(access to all traits except tier +3 skills like bullet deflection). Because the problem with it was that Melee became a horrid playthrough when staying staunchly with one core skill weapon catalogue(N51 was where I had to use guns for the Melee Imprint; who has a weakness to Ranged), but it was during beta and most of the issues have been ironed out. But Acrobatics on the other hand was seriously underwhelming, as the weapons that benefit from your Acrobatics doesn't get any better beyond the first two thirds of the game. Overall, I say the game is worth the $25 for a Hack n Slasher, plus the soundtrack is a killer, much like all the other songs from the animations and PNF.
I honestly feel like this comment is more concise and detailed than my actual review, even if it mostly focuses on the beta. Thank you for the insight for what this game is like to 300 hour vets!
Fun fact I actually joined madness combat due to a recommendation from a friend on school. While I had found it on my own my friend told me more about the series. Which at this point was on the 6th installment.
Beung able to complete this game on all madness difficulty and get that achievement was really satisfying. And being able to see such a review well made like this is just as satisfying. This games needs more attention!

The only real issue i have is that the fps is capped at 60 fps, and for some reason the only way to fix it is to turn on vsync. It could use more content and bug fixes but i would look past those
@@TheRealJackNGorwhatever yeah i don't know. Its a real weird issue. My fps with vsync on is very inconsistent too. Changing the resolution or textures doesnt do anything either. It doesnt matter if i set the hz to 240 or 24, it stays at 59fps.

I know I'm 10 months late to the party but, 11:35 there is a use to the ragdoll button. I got stuck in a drawer in campaign mode as Hank and when I press K I got unstuck, basically it's meant to free you if you get stuck in or on something, or what you said in the video.
its all fun in games till you get a fast ninja type enemy that stun locks you till you a. get out of it b. one of the npc's kill them or c. they kill you but ye enjoyable game 10/10
It took me 100 hours before I pulled myself away from arena mode to actually play through the story. Honestly, my advice to newcomers would be to start the campaign, and if they aren't totally sold on the game then just go to the arena. The main game has so many mechanics that it can be daunting to have most of them from the start. You start weak in the arena without a lot of the abilities and the game is balanced for that so you steadily get used to the abilities as you unlock them. You still won't have any clue what's going on with the story, but neither does your character so you dont feel too bad about being out of the loop.
Church and Jorge are underrated madness characters, really wished we could fight them before Gastalt boss fight. Luckily they got revived during the credits after Church & Jorge got annihilated by Gastalt. In my eyes, these two are Sanford & Deimos archnemsis's.

And other where in The tol Center a place for a Helicopter Can land, and meanwhile, you can Do stuff. Open lockers, Hack Computers, Kill Enemies. And Grunts from the Vents also. And other Arenad. And one Prototype like arena, where The Door is one big Slap Mortal And Locked. Also Regular Moud or Dust ground, and Holograms Attack you.
That was About the Arena. Also the HQ Part is Different looking Place. Merc Pilot always wait you To go for Arena, you get from A Green Chamber when you Die. Also bonus for that old Arena, Later shown. When you you go With a Bus. Then you walk the Entrance Stairs. And like arena, Locked Fight some guys on the Entering. And then you Start Job. I remember one time i was in murder time arena stage there was a enemy on a trap door one of my hireling was gonna get that dude until the trapdoor flashed red so he dodged back to a normal floor but he went back in because the enemy was there so the trapdoor opened below him and died and i finished off the enemy that got my hireling fell out of the world it made me laugh lol. i just heard the falling scream and it faded away
Ragdoll has one tactical advantage, going limp gives you invincibility against half mag charge attacks most notably, also enemies can't grapple you in this state.
It might not be a big number in the grand scheme of TH-cam, but that number is terrifying to me. I genuinely cannot believe 700 people think I'm interesting enough to subscribe to.
Buy a lot of throwing axes/knives and farm either Slaughter Time or Sleepwalker. Slaughter time has a lot of weak squishy enemies that go down easy with your throwables, same with Sleepwalker. Use throwables and thrown melee weapons exclusively to get a bunch of acrobatics xp.
One thing that bothered me was that it was only local multiplayer I wanted to play this with my friend but was caught off guard when we couldn't because it was only local
They're all really good tho, The merc can hire enemies, patient is a stand user, and experiment.. Idk about experiment, agent is decent? He has no specials so not really interesting
Buy a lot of throwing axes/shurikins and take them to either Slaughter time or Sleepwalker training. If you just keep playing through Sleepwalker, eventually you'll get 1000 xp for only killing like 20 or 30 enemies a wave. If you only use throwing weapons, that's 1000 acrobatics xp every wave. It just takes a while to get that far though.
my biggest issue with this game, and this is comin from someone who bought beta access in 2017 they removed THE BEST ARENA MAPS. WHY DID THEY REMOVE ABANDONED OUTPOST, AND MURDER ROOM 4 DUDE THEY WERE SO MUCH FUN
I only heard about this game around the time Madness got popular again, but I've seen some footage of what the beta arena mode was like. I'm sure a lot of the maps will be reintroduced with updates but I have to agree, a lot of those levels look way cooler than the ones we got.
@@roiwiez there was a lot of arena maps in the beta, but they were all pretty short compared to the sprawling 13 wave length maps full of content in the current arena, but that made it more refreshing to play on different smaller maps over the course of the game rather than just 1 big map for like 50 minutes. it added a bit more replay value cause if you couldn't beat a map in the arena, you had 2 options and you could try and beat the other map instead. ofc i do enjoy the new arena a lot more cause of the features they've introduced overtime such as unique origins, origins have always been around, and the first few you can get are similar to the ones in the beta, but tinkerer, massive, etc. are so much fun to play i can temporarily relieve myself of not being able to play abandoned outpost.
An update pretty early on after release upgraded the helicopter after completing the contract Fickle Friends, allowing for a total of 5 hirelings to join you on missions.
Thing Thing arena! It was a 2d platform shooter series on a bunch of flash game sites that I used to play all the time. I'm pretty sure it was made as an attempt to ride off of Madness' success, but I loved those games growing up. Unfortunately, with the death of flash it's difficult to find working versions of the game now...

The ragdoll button is actually good for speed runs as it can make you go further when playing as the massive by doing the charge attack

The only other use I found for the button is during the Gestalt platform escape sequence. You can ragdoll to avoid the oncoming wood planks

It was worth the wait. It’s flaws aren’t too glaring and there’s never a dull and boring moment. In the game. It just radiates charm in every aspect.

You can direct the Ai without much issue, problem is they aren't very good at teaching you how to do that.

What's your method of upgrading acrobatics? I want to do the flips.
Buy a lot of throwing axes/knives and farm either Slaughter Time or Sleepwalker. Slaughter time has a lot of weak squishy enemies that go down easy with your throwables, same with Sleepwalker. Use throwables and thrown melee weapons exclusively to get a bunch of acrobatics xp.

They're all really good tho, The merc can hire enemies, patient is a stand user, and experiment.. Idk about experiment, agent is decent? He has no specials so not really interesting

Any tips to train acrobatics?
Buy a lot of throwing axes/shurikins and take them to either Slaughter time or Sleepwalker training. If you just keep playing through Sleepwalker, eventually you'll get 1000 xp for only killing like 20 or 30 enemies a wave. If you only use throwing weapons, that's 1000 acrobatics xp every wave. It just takes a while to get that far though.

tbh i have maybe 40 minutes in story mode, all of my time with the game has been in arena
my biggest issue with this game, and this is comin from someone who bought beta access in 2017
they removed THE BEST ARENA MAPS. WHY DID THEY REMOVE ABANDONED OUTPOST, AND MURDER ROOM 4 DUDE THEY WERE SO MUCH FUN
I only heard about this game around the time Madness got popular again, but I've seen some footage of what the beta arena mode was like. I'm sure a lot of the maps will be reintroduced with updates but I have to agree, a lot of those levels look way cooler than the ones we got.
@@roiwiez there was a lot of arena maps in the beta, but they were all pretty short compared to the sprawling 13 wave length maps full of content in the current arena, but that made it more refreshing to play on different smaller maps over the course of the game rather than just 1 big map for like 50 minutes. it added a bit more replay value cause if you couldn't beat a map in the arena, you had 2 options and you could try and beat the other map instead. ofc i do enjoy the new arena a lot more cause of the features they've introduced overtime such as unique origins, origins have always been around, and the first few you can get are similar to the ones in the beta, but tinkerer, massive, etc. are so much fun to play i can temporarily relieve myself of not being able to play abandoned outpost.

Wait you can have more than 3 teammates on one mission in arena?
An update pretty early on after release upgraded the helicopter after completing the contract Fickle Friends, allowing for a total of 5 hirelings to join you on missions.

Thing Thing arena! It was a 2d platform shooter series on a bunch of flash game sites that I used to play all the time. I'm pretty sure it was made as an attempt to ride off of Madness' success, but I loved those games growing up. Unfortunately, with the death of flash it's difficult to find working versions of the game now...
