I have no idea how hotashi does that very in your face intentional bloodrage and I wanna learn how to add it to my roster of mixups but when ever I do it the tactic blows up in my face.

you just gotta make sure you leave your opponent high enough and not drop the combo so the bloodrage blasts them away. At point blank it's good old strike throw oki. it's not "optimal" but very little is optimal in hotashi's nago in regards to combo damage and blood management cause "optimal" nago is p boring.
