    The Blenko Amberina decanter is an absolute treasure! You certainly scored with that piece! A similar 15 inch decanter recently (July 16) sold on EBay for $430.00! In my opinion, it wasn't as pretty as the one you found.

    Love the crewel embroidery with the butterfly. You can tell needlepoint as it is worked on a canvas and every stitch is the same, even the back ground, it will be totally flat and the canvas covered. Crewel is worked on fabric using many different stitches and you can see the fabric background. Crewel is much more common to find because needlepoint was more expensive to buy the materials and to have it stretched and framed, I have done both in the past....wish I'd have kept them.

      If you would like to see shipping videos by an experienced 20 year eBay seller (Karen has only done a few), check out TheNICHELady (Danni Ackerman). Go back to her 2020 videos - she had a shipping video every week … VERY helpful!

      I've watched resellers pack and ship the small items, golf clubs, the heavy cast iron, or the t-shirt in the poly bag. It would be beneficial to me and I'm sure to others to learn how pack the large MCM glass decanters, pitchers, vases or vintage glassware. Please help.

    • @FlaNative3
      @FlaNative3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cyndieocallaghan173 TheNICHELady has done lots of large and delicate items in her shipping videos. Shipping cost keeps going up, so those large items may not sell for enough to make it worth your while (higher ship price often means lower item price). For the large MCM glass items, you need small and large bubble bubble wrap/cushion, packing peanuts and BIG boxes. Don’t list it for sale unless you already have the packing materials. One reseller I know always double boxes glass items, but that is a lot of work and they don’t have any videos on it.

    • @FlaNative3
      @FlaNative3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cyndieocallaghan173 For example, vintage glassware (same for most any glass piece): each piece should be wrapped in 2-3 layers of small bubble wrap. If something is very delicate, also put one or more layers of large bubble wrap. Then put the pieces in a box on a layer of packing peanuts. There should be 2 inches or more of clearance on all sides for the peanuts to cushion the glass (the USPS can be very hard on boxes). The wrapped pieces can touch as they have 4 layers of bubble between them. Cover with peanuts until the box is a tad bit over full. Then when you close the box flaps, the peanuts should hold the items snuggly. Make sure items can’t shift during shipping - I hold the box closed (no tape yet) and SHAKE IT HARD! If you can hear the items move AT ALL, add more peanuts or something to fill space. Paper doesn’t pad things well enough and it’s heavier then bubble cushion and peanuts. Hope this helps.

    It’s so exciting to here about your new boyfriend. What a wonderful business selling games. My husband and I love to thrift together. We are in our 12 th year selling on eBay. And the best dates are thrifting dates. Great haul ! Love the vases. I found a tall green vase made in Italy with a topper. The man was asking $5. He told me Jeanie had escaped from the bottle and he no longer need for it. Lol. Looks like you might have an I dream of Jeanie vase too. I love your beautiful home. Our home is decorated with all thrifted items. We are in a small country home now. But we used to live in a large home in the suburbs. Everyone thought I spent a fortune on our home. But no , it was all thrifted. I ran ads locally and sold off as much as I could before we downsized. You can always make money and increase your income by selling what you thrift. Even if you use an item in your home for years before selling. Thrifting can change your life. It’s so much fun. Always new things to learn about . That’s why I love watching lavender clothesline. Hi Karen, just a helpful hint about wallpaper, you are so right not to buy open or unwrapped wallpaper but also with multiple rolls it’s also important to make sure that the batch numbers match up. This will mean that the paper was printed in the same run so the colors will match accurately with the rolls. You might want to mention that in your listing description. Cheers, Pat😀

    I only just started today's video, but what a beautiful decanter.!
    This is probably strange for you, but you and I are friends (even though you may not know it) 😉. We meet in my living room approximately three times a week while I have a glass of wine and learn from you. I started watching you simply for learning but now I just enjoy your company and continue to learn from you. Today I ended up doing a life-changing thing. (Well at least a business model changing thing) and the first thing I thought was that I wanted to tell my friend and mentor about this. Alas, that's not possible in reality but I wanted you to know that I was channeling you all day today as I accidentally stumbled upon a wonderful experience and ended up picking $640 worth of beautifully curated vintage items… This was after editing three or four times and leaving many of my favorites behind to be very careful. As I was editing and as I was choosing I had you in my head and in my heart coaching me the whole time. I heard you say things like, "this Sweater is so special… The equestrian detail with these horses is just adorable and I thought of all the keywords that you would say about the obvious quality of the gorgeous knit and you and I did this together; we did this most of the afternoon and I ended up with a beautiful set of items to list. Thank you for helping me and for being with me today in this beautiful first time vintage haul for me. 💕

    Bought the Nike Wildhorse (9.5) sneakers. Since it's a holiday weekend, and you may actually be taking a day off, please don't be concerned getting my purchase shipped ASAP. I would prefer thinking you enjoyed yourself :) My purchase will get to me in due course.

    Hi Karen, Yes picking up smaller items was something I decided to do last year. Sometimes I break my own resolve and go backwards. I am happier when I stick to my rules. I chose a size and a weight limit and a $ amount that would be outside of it. So, I try to stay under 1 pound and under 12" for hard goods and it must bring me $40 NET at least. I try to stay under 1 pound and must fit in a padded flat rate envelope for soft goods. UNLESS, it will NET me over $75. I did buy a super cute pair of Free People brand new clogs...no box. I bought them for $9.99 at thrift shop, I sold for $80.00 plus ship. It took me about 6 months to sell at that price. I was happy with outcome but that was an exception. Like I said, sometimes I forget my own rules...then I kick myself later. I don't have a lot of room like you do and I never organized my space first - sure wish I had! So now, trying to do it afterwards is near impossible. The only thing I can do is keep following my rule until I can move all my inventory out to my deck, install my shelving I bought and then move it all back in and it will be organized. I live in the northwest and we are beginning to run out of good weather...meaning soon the deck will be continuously wet and I'll have to wait until next summer. So, maybe think of setting some rules up with some exceptions built in and good luck! Oh, PS. I am listening to "the 4 hour workweek" by ferris on youtube as well. Its an audiobook and I am 1/4 way through. Lots of good ideas about limiting distractions, focusing on whats important, 80/20 rule, etc. I recommend it.

    I picked up a Starbucks tattoo mermaid Ceramic tumbler with the lid at a goodwill for $2.99. I sold it on eBay for $75. Some of those Starbucks things are outrageously priced. But I'm not gonna complain! Cha-ching! 😁

    The who buys a roll or 2 of expensive wallpaper question: I could see where buying a roll to make a repair (damage from kids, renters, or a window left open for the rain) or deal with a room remodeling (shift a wall, door or window) in an existing pattern, could save you the time and labor to re-do an entire room, would be worth it. Also, many foyers and small bathrooms only need a roll and if the pattern you need/want is discontinued, eBay is the place to buy.
    It's the same mindset that allows me to sell New/Old stock discontinued hardware. If I have an unopened pack of curtain rod end, finials or drawer pulls that have not been made for years, a person wanting to match a pattern looks on eBay. Cheaper, even with shipping then changing out several other window rods or all your cabinet hardware when one breaks.
    They just tend to be long tail, depending on their original popularity.

    Hi, thank you for solving my coffee problems Karen! I
    I will tell you why people want a ceramic travel mug: because the metal coffee mugs make coffee taste bad. The acidity of a good espresso is lost in metal containers, plastic containers loose heat and thanks to you now I can look for Starbucks ceramic travel mugs.
    I have resorted to using tall glasses to put my coffee for the drive 😆

      Thank you so much for explaining this! I have a travel container that is a name brand that is crazy expensive, can’t think of the name at all, but I use it for everything I drink because I’m always spilling things. But I am going to try my coffee in a regular ceramic mug and see if it tastes different! I am a potter so I make mugs ALL the time and have many! Thanks again.
