Thank you! I appreciate that! Of course, crashing is part of it it’s just parts lol rebuild and keep going especially when you do something stupid like go full negative into the ground! I hope you get some good flying weather soon! Take care bud!
This is just what I was watching for. When you know what to look for it's obvious that it's performing better than the m4 as I mentioned before I want that exact setup. I am getting better and I may fly on 70% for a while. I doubt I will ever need more than 80% with it. I know some good helicopters are coming down the road but I will never be good enough to need it. Thanks I'm good to go!
Never say, never! You will get that good one day to enjoy all models. And! You don’t need to be a snack 3-D pilot to enjoy all the new models that are coming. They get better and better and fly better and better every day. The Venom is fantastic! Such a great flying Heli!
Quick question Jeff, setting up the iKon in my DX-9 Black, what should I assign for aux2,(channel 7)? My options are inh, throttle,rudder,aux3,aux4,gyro,governor,R Knob. I have my gyro gains on f-mode sw. would like to use the governor function on the Hobby Wing 200 esc, as well. Thanks in advance for your time. Nice flying too! Did the same, twice, with my S2!
Thank you! You would assign that in the channel assign menu on your transmitter. If you watch my icon set up video, it will be the same with your DX9 as my IX14 or 12. You’ve just assigned it to whichever switch you like. You could definitely still use the governor function in your hobby wing. I run it in the iKon, but both works great. You can also get full telemetry with your DX9 as well!
Surprised your head bearings and feathering shaft were good. I had a similar crash and all the bearings were notchy and the both shafts were slightly bent.
Both shafts where perfectly straight and all bearing where good. Normally if a bearing is notchy you can pull it out and clean in alcohol as most of the time there notchy from dirt or loctite or in a bad case they have to be replaced.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Jeff my experience has been that if you break blades chances are high you have bent shafts and notched bearings. Glad to hear that yours were good.
Great flying and wow, it's snappy on IU2! Noticed a roughly 5° nose right snap the moment you put on throttle hold at about 6:12 . As I mentioned a few videos back, my 470LP does that too, but it's more like a sudden 15°. I think you mentioned to decrease overall tail gain to get rid of that, right? I haven't flown this year, today would have been the first day - got everything ready and all and then the rain came down 🤦♂😀 I recall from last year, on spool up the heli shakes at a certain rpm, but as I push through it, it smoothes out. Could this also come from to high tail gain? My 470 feels very nervous but at the same time extremely precise in the air.
Thank you! Yes it’s very responsive in idle up 2! Does that is because of the torque being released off of the main rotor. You will want to set your hold gain (in your gyro menu in the radio) to a higher gain until it holds straight when putting it in hold mode. Shaking on spool up normally from blades to lose or a tight head. Try tightening the main blades and see if it goes away.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Thank you. Since, I noticed a crunching sound while rotating the head by hand and the tail shaft slider seems to wobble. Spooling up to low rpm inside the house shows that the tail vibrates like crazy. No wonder I can't set the gyro. I guess it's time for a new tail shaft, tail bearings, main shaft bearings and a new belt. I flew this thing 10 times maybe and I never crashed it.
Very rugged little helicopter. I was honestly very surprised at the damage. A Blade crack a link cracked and broke a plastic Servo horn. No damage at all to the canopy!
Maverick is on sale right now, 30% off. SAB June summer sale seems to have been extended. Unfortunately despite its size the dark color scheme makes it a challenge to see, have momentarily lost orientation a few times. Or maybe I just need better glasses 😂
I’ve almost pulled the trigger on it quite a few times. I’ve been trying to hold off to save a little bit of money and finish a few other bills. I got going on right now lol the comet has taken all of my money this far! 😂 I was worried about the color and orientation of the model.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 No the Color was a real problem for my eyes. As the Genesis parts all fit the Maverick I switched it over to the green and had a Maverick boom painted to match because I wanted it still be an 800. No missiles though. No problem seeing it now. Still have all the parts so can switch it back anytime. 30% off is hard to resist when you’re a heli addict. Kraken 700S 3 Blade bought but no time to build. Winter project I guess.
I would say they’re about the same for build time and quality. I think they’re better in the fact of direct drive for sure, and better tail performance than the 470.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Thank you for the reply. I recently got the Align 450 after years and years of not having a heli. My old one was Century Falcon 50 nitro. I do like the fact Goosky is direct drive perhaps when I am ready for a larger bird with 600mm blades I will look at getting a Goosky. Peace!
Top tic toks old lad , awesome flight love your attitude to crashing 😁 glad the weathers dryed up raining here in England take it easy buddy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It is definitely a nice little heli. Mine is flying just as nice with the SpiritGT installed.
That’s great! I’ve never flown a SpirtGT FBL but hear great things.
You reccomend s1 for a newbie? I fly fpv and planes. Been practicing 9n the sim a bit as well
Love it! Definitely for the more experienced pilot. Loving my PnP version a lot. 🧙♂👍
The PNP version is great! Fantastic Heli as well.

What is better by your opinion Goosky r4 or omp hobby m4 ?
I’ve got a full video coming soon on both but my choice between the two is the RS4 Venom!

Thank you! It was a good inverted crash!
If you put a Hobbywing esc on it what size would you go with?
@@nanoswithabackbone232 I would run the Goosky/hobbywing ESC. I believe it’s a 60 amp and bolts in the frame where the stock Goosky 70 fits.
are you running a gov or just a flight throttle curve?
I’m running the built in Goosky Governor.

So the big question Jeff, this or the RAW 420?
420 raw without question.
@@57heeler I have the 420 and I put some Rototech Ultimates on it. Super awesome machine.
That is a tough one actually. I would still say RAW 420. But for the money the venom is better. But of course, nothing flies as great as SAB!
Rugged little machine, inverted crash with minimal damage.
Any damage at all to the canopy Jeff?

Build a SAB Maverick.
