I was hoping for a bit of variety in Sorceries too. Just having the same handful of attack spells feels a little lacklustre with the sheer amount of tools you have with Incantations.

Missed that Rellana's twin moons has a third follow-up attack that deal quit a bit of additional damage
It's slightly different from the video in the way it looks too. Must've been tweaked upon release
Also the splash damage range is super short, I understand it shouldn’t be has OP like Rellana but come on
@@armani6194 For 72 int it should actually be op...the Dragonlord spell has a unreactable aoe at the start...i fail so see why mages can't have something good too...and while they are at it, fix stars of ruin to have any use in pvp......either double up the duration of the attack or cut in half the range but give back the aggressive tracking......

Yeah, incantations have always been way cooler. Even in base game. Which fucking sucks cause i wanna be a badass wizard, not some lame-ass priest

Yeah one of the faith incantations literally turns you into Gilgamesh from Fate. I do like some of the finger sorceries though. The double moon sorcery is just...dumb.
Most of these spells look like they can go through walls. Imagine a microcosm popping up from your feet and you can't even tell from which direction it was cast from. At first I thought the Nails were useless. Looks like they have very good stance breaking potential. They're mostly AoE area denial spells. Best one used to be the Zamor one. Now Gravitational Missile lets you walk around while it attacks for you. Also, I seen the Miriam Vanishing has very good s on recovery. You're probably still in s at the starting animation of something like Giant Hunt or Square Off.
Miriams also seems to go through enemies, so you can probably through an enemy to their back and force them to turn around or attempt a back check. Meaning you can set up frame traps. Honestly pretty cool.
I used the Miriam's vanishing against commander gauis, works very reliably against his charge attacks
Everyone talking about how the sorceries looks bad, I’m just like: IS THAT A FUCKING BLACK HOLE??
Id say all of the regular blue spells lack luster but the others were pretty damn sweet.
That was the only exciting spell to me, the rest lacked innovation.
I love both gravity sorceries but I wish they added at least 1 more to have 3 at least instead of just 2

Idk, thorn sorcery seems to be a viable option now. It may not be as meta as the shard and rock but it's a change of scenery for sure.

@@jag9872 a mix of both. It prox bloodlost real quick and hit like a truck. Plus it's almost unavoidable. Recommend using it with Maternal staff as main hand and Thorn staff as offhand.

Lol, you know impenetrable thorns is an aberrant sorcery(gets buffed by all the stuff that buffs them) AND is the most OP and broken spell in the game rn, do you? It will get massively nerfed ofc, but rn aberrant sorceries(well, this one at least) RULE!

not gonna lie the new incantations seem better than the sorceries for the dlc...
The incantations in this game have always been more flashy, while the sorceries are more pragmatic. Incantations let you pull the wrath of the gods out from you buttcheeks while sorceries are like pulling out a glock - not flashy but they get a job done and are cheap.

incredible how almost no one knows that holding the attack button you can hit 3 times with the double moon sorcery lol.
Isn't Rellana's Twin Moons a three hit spell? The last hit is the player striking the ground.
I found Gravitational Missile on 4:51 to be the only good sorcery added on this DLC. Looks underwelming at first, but if you aim it to the ground it will explode instantly giving a pretty neat AoE attack.
And it pvp its perfect , not op but quite flexible

I don't see how they're underwhelming the more basic looking things like Glintblade trio are stuff I've always wanted to see in the game.

Why is the animation different?
Rellana does 3 aoe attacks and the photo is different too.
I still dont know if the fingers is supposed to reflect spells, defend attacks or attack closing enemies. Is hard to land that spell

Something odd bout your Rellana's Twin moons, your footage shows the two moons dropping but not the ground slam at the end like she does, and I know its supposed to do that cause it does it like that all the time for me , unless I get caught on terrain/ walls or pushed out of the spell by enemies.
Rellanas twin moon has a third attack when used with the moon sceptor. That's really cool.
I'm pretty sure it's bugged because I never get the 3rd attack. I just get the 2 moons and that's it.
Currently using carian regal sceptor
Seems like Mantle of Thorns and the Lightning Ram AoW will make a neat combo.

With Rellana's twin moons spell, if you cast it with the Carian royal scepter, it adds a third blow to the spell, in which after the 2 moons hit the ground, the character will descend, stabbing the staff into the ground and producing a third explosion.
Gravity sorceries are nice, the rest ......

What stats are you when you showcase these spells? Is the damage really that low or is your Int just low?
Not optimized for sorc, no talismans or rune, staff was upgraded and int was 72
Really hope in the next game they figure out magic and make it go efficient. The very first spell of the game still does the best damage per fp point.
A lot of the spells look like they are missing or in the spear one not registering a third hit.
Thorns looks good though, possible the best cast per FP one, cannon Mk2 and the big succ might be decent too.

There is a 3rd hit to Rellana's Twin Moon when fully charged that causes you to strike the ground with your staff dealing damage in a wider area, knocking enemies up.
The nail sorceries do massive poise damage, very funny for knocking down a big enemy, lmao

Hopefully nail acts in a way that enemies dont instant dodge it looe with the blade spells. If yoyve never used sourceries its very common for enemies to auto dodge any projectiles but summoning spells they will dodge early and get hit.
Ive been playing as magic and without and magic is far mor frustrating as well as being squishier, having less flasks, more to manage as of resources, and needing to keep tracl of the oder of your spells and different cast times. Im realizing slurcery is harder just now. The easiest possible is raw strength with a pole weapon and a shield, or a shield and a 1 hand wuick attack weapon lile a fist weapon.
Does anybody know if the Rellana Twin Moon spell does the magic debuff and the frost damage??
It doesn't unfortunately. Also no Hyperarmor, so it's incredibly bad.

What I dont understand is why like half or more of the new SORCERIES have FAITH requirements, they also all seem to be meh at best
really hoper there would be more melee magic seem not possible
Moon slam (although they need to buff it with hyper armor) and teleport are still pretty good for that.
Also the finger spell and thorn armor one are literally made for melee.

@@user-rf5pz7vc2bThey might not look flashy but the blink spell and the finger mesh seem like they'd really throw people off in PVP. Plus if the fingers can tank like they seem to you might be able to eat big attacks from bosses.
@@kirbyis4ever I tested them, unfortunately only blink is good. Finger mesh spell has low hitstun and range, so even if you hit someone in pvp, you lose priority... which is so dumb. So you hit them (best case scenario with that little range and no hyperarmor), but you still need to roll away afterwards, because they can mash out of hitstun so early they'll get you no matter what you do. It's so bad, makes me sad. Also, the tracking spells suck hard, you can literally walk sideways and it'll miss.

I wish they added some kind of melee magic like piercer, slicer and magic hammer like in the base game. New weapons and incantations are cool but the sorcery is kinda underwhelming and also low in number
As for someone who don't use either spells or incantations this is overwhelming for me.
the twin moon sorcerery is different in game. the animation is different and you get a third wave as you land
Most of them are for show off. I wish they introduced more useful spells, like maybe glyphs that you could put on the ground or bubbles that could slow down projectiles.. i dont know.. and i feel like some of these spells are just similar to old spells like nails and shards
Agree so much, I too want a trap type spell that lasts for more than 2 seconds after u cast it. The closest thing we have is flame of the fell God (incantation). Even the new finger spell doesn't last long enough to be useful and takes forever to cast.
The Incantations definitely come out on top, but honestly these aren't terrible. They just don't ROCK and I wanted them to really rock, ya know?
hey, so, the new fullmoon sorcery actually has a third hitbox that is much stronger then the first two, possibly only with the fullmoon staff though, havent tried it without that
it involves the player character slamming down into the ground with their staff, similar to what happens in the boss fight

You have Prince of Death staff from the base game. It's the higest scaling staff in the game.
Unfortunately there's no staff for int in the DLC. It's all faith int or arc int.
6:13 I bet they took this spell from the Convergence mod from Dark Souls 3.
