Greetings Elias....It is True... it is very difficult to reach critical decision makers of a company when it comes to selling a patent. The best way for them to steal your invention is, immediately after your presentation they will tell you that "our in-house team is already working on it"... That's when you realize that they stole it on the spot.
That is possible. However, keep in mind that many company are continually working on new products, so it’s quite possible that they are working on something similar. It’s best to protect yourself with a patent application.
@matomeamos7275, if an inventor will follow the advices suggested by Elias Borges @PatentToronto, the inventive idea is not stollen, but "donated" to companies with detailed descriptions, videos or other prototypes. Never never patent on patent office, if you do you will pay the attorney like Elias, you will pay all the fees, and then you will pay every year other fees for 20 years, and within 20 days from filing your ideas the competitors will use the invention by infringing IP rights, and the inventor can not pay on litigations?
@@PatentToronto all companies want to improve and produce better products, but all their products are on the market. A new product is easy being distinguished. When someone with new inventive ideas will prepare all what is recommended on these video, and disclose to a company, they know very well to adopt the new idea without paying a penny. I say never go to a patent attorney, never patent and pay fees, but fight to find partners who produce less competitive products and want partner to compete on the market. Then if an inventor know the real reasons that many companies fail on pilots or field pilots, and know and the solutions, then let the companies fail, contact these companies, propose for partnership and if they want technological solutions they do not know, they must PAY on trust the pretended inventor. Consider all oil companies around the world for example, haw many field pilots have they tested and failed loosing million dollar each or billions dollars combined. A simple example is CO2 injection or water injection or other injection on conventional oil reservoirs or unconventional oil reservoirs. If I know the challenges like all these companies do, for EOR technologies there is no need for each other, but when I know to solve the challenges using my "technological idea" then they need me to solve and save billions of dollars and produce billions barrel oil. Do I need to prepare all documentation and disclose to the companies? If I will do this mistake, this will benefit all companies, and the same is and if I will work with a Patient attorney and patent the technology. Never, never do this, and never prepare any complete material on files on computer or even on paper work. Work and destroy every hard copy, the inventors computers or even offices are target.
What an interesting video. I have done most everything suggested in this video and have found you to be correct in your analysis. I suggest you use a business directory and search for companies that might be able to manufacture the product for you. You could try metal fabricators.
I have an invention that is currently patent pending. It’s an awesome idea for a medical supply company to invest in! I just don’t know how to get it in front of the right person and how to even contact one. Sincerely, Denise Liebig
Your first step might be to find a business directory of medical supply companies/manufacturers. Search for business directories - then when you have one you can find suitable marketing targets. Directories will list the contact information for the various key executives in each company.
Interesting.. i created something you can adjust on a boxing bag and it tries to hit you back randomly everytime you hit it, and its fast.. it doesn't sound impressive, but.. the way it attacks back is totally random thats the beauty of it.. an excellent sparring tool, a awesome way to stay fit, or loose weight. it can be challenging for some people because you have to be able to move-hit fast, jump around etc.. and it's small, doesn't take any space.. but i can't even find manufactures of that source, any sporting goods companies most of them i found were in china, have no idea where to look.. how to find the right people to present my demo
If there are no companies that would be interested then there is another option. I would suggest finding investors, building a team of developers/marketers who would be part owners in the business and seeing if you could launch the product directly to the public.
How can I find the companies directory's data base can you give us a link to find it or look up companies to sell your idea and I do have it patent pending. I don't have the finance's to proceed in my startup

Very interesting! Thanks for this information. If you present an NDA to a company, what makes you sure they don't "steal" your idea? What if the company just tells you that they already have worked on this idea or a similar one, and therefore are not interested in yours? Also, can your idea be a lever into that company for a job, eg. in R&D? Are companies interested in "inventor type persons", or do they prefer people with relevant education, like in engineering?
The NDA gives you some protection in that it makes it possible to sue the company for breach of contract if they try to steal your invention. If you sue them and you have a good paper trail and can prove it’s possible and reasonable to believe that they stole the idea from you, then they have the burden to prove they got the idea before they met you. It’s not ideal, but it’s likely just enough protection to discourage them from stealing your idea.
For your second question. The bigger the company, the harder that is. People in R&D generally have an engineering degree and a track record of outside the box thinking. Assuming you don't have that degree, it's very hard to get them to take a chance on you. Showing them your outside the box thinking with your invention is a good start, but likely not very deep. The last thing they want to do is have to spend a lot of time training you on everything else. or getting you up to speed on understanding their ERP or MRP types of programs. CAD software, etc. Smaller companies, absolutely. Seen it happen a few times.
@@PartDistribution sure, it's not easy. But there's a slim possibility for the right person. If I'm that person, I don't know. But its worth trying for someone if he has the talent and dedication that makes him stand out. Thank you for your answer :)
@@_Viking I would say to increase your chances, start watching youtube videos on those categories I mentioned. Just to familiarize yourself with the terms they would use when asking if you have ever worked with them. If nothing more than to show you know what they are talking about when they say ECO. Even if it's to say you have never worked with them but are reading up on them in your spare time. That looks really good. You might also apply to a lower level technical position there. Like test technician, possibly quality assurance. You don't always need a technical degree for those, and you get on the job training and a solid chance to prove yourself fast.
Me Borges May I sincerely thank you.! I was so pleased and indeed very excited to find your Chanel. The way you explain this very complex topic Was extremely very easy to understand and covering in a very basic understandable manor, I thank you once again. May I ask. With regards to a new invention idea that I have. Kindest Regards. Andy.
I have invented a product which I just stated selling online. When you say ....pitch to a small company. What size company do you mean. The ideal company for my product is a 50 million dollar a year company. Is that considered small enough to more easily get "Into the board room". Thanks Tom
It’s subjective. It’s potentially easier to communicate with the management of a smaller company. A 50 million per year company sounds like it’s borderline between small enough to be easier to approach and too big to easily entertain inquiries from independent inventors. Good luck.
Very informative video. Thanks alot...But for folks like us not in the USA or Canada. It's really hard to get our goals accomplished. Do you have any idea for overseas inventors?
You don’t have to live in the United States to file a patent application in the US patent office. It can be done online through their website at USPTO.gov. Also, you can file a PCT application and designate multiple different nations. Good luck.
That’s a good question. A lot can be done to produce a marketing video using 3D CAD drawings and CGI (animation). There are some free software tools available like Blender. They do have a steep learning curve, so you might want to partner with someone who could handle that end of things.
Can you help me get into a company. We been selling it for a couple years people like it fast and easy to use. IT is fully patented for a couple years . Its called Plumbing stabilizer 3000
Hopefully, you have filed for patent protection before meeting the company. Also, you should have the company sign a confidentiality agreement (aka NDA) before meeting them. Those measures will give you significant protection.

Do you have a list of product/inventions that are now in the market place. I challenge you to name one success, I am finding that the world in pro "I will take your money" people!
I’m a patent lawyer/agent. You can go to the US patent office’s website and search for patents where I was the patent agent if you want a list of inventions where I obtained a patent for the inventor.
If you know the CEO personally this might work. I’ll be creating a video specifically on how to present your idea to the CEO of a company. Look out for that.
I have an invention that can prevent lots of car accidents happening every day. I have tried to contact some companies and the more I tried, the more got frustrated to be able to contact the right people in the companies. Have you any contact with any company in the automotive industry? My invention can be applied to any kind of vehicle but it is more useful for trucks and trailers. I am open to share any profits of the invention with you or any other person who can help me present it to the right people.
Thanks for your message. I can’t provide you with any contacts in the auto industry; however, I will soon be working on a video about contacting decision makers in a company and that might help you.
You should detail your invention in an inventor’s notebook and keep it secure and safe. Then, formulate a marketing plan/strategy. Don’t tell anyone your idea without having them sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) first.

If you sue them and you have a good paper trail and can prove it’s possible and reasonable to believe that they stole the idea from you, then they have the burden to prove they got the idea before they met you. It’s not ideal, but it’s likely just enough protection to discourage them from stealing your idea.
@@PatentToronto thank you for your reply That makes me a bit more confident when I present my idea to a company. Great info :)
Sir thanks for such an informative video,I have an idea of an automatic
Toy gun which is unique in the market, how can I sell this idea.
I will be posting more videos on the specific steps I’ve seen people use to sell their invention. Watch for those.

The way you explain this very complex topic
Was extremely very easy to understand and covering in a very basic understandable manor, I thank you once again.
May I ask.
Are you still answering questions via Your channel
As I would very much like to address a question/situation to where I am at at present with response from the Brunswick Corporation. With regards to a new invention idea that I have.
Kindest Regards.
Andy.
Yes, I answer questions if the answer to the question is not too long.
I am a key chain inventor, and where can I sell my invention?
Id like to sell my idea, i have absolutely no money.... is that possible?... this idea is VERY simple yet valuable
Same here, money is problem, but hope you have patented it
Hai this is Dalwinder S Sidhu, I have patent to sell. Please hint me out where to start with Thanks
I have patent for sale. Can you help me out in that. Thanks
Good luck.

Thank you, Elias for your expertise .
Is there any professional website of companies who will by my idea ,where can i sell idea and i satisfied with them about my idea ...!!!
I have idea on a new game who do I contact
Could I hire you? I’m in Tennessee
Good luck.
How can I license my product without a prototype?… I have a non provisional patent
That’s a good question. A lot can be done to produce a marketing video using 3D CAD drawings and CGI (animation). There are some free software tools available like Blender. They do have a steep learning curve, so you might want to partner with someone who could handle that end of things.
Thank you
How and where do you apply for a patent??
At the patent office of the country you want exclusive rights in.
I have invention for Amazon Kindle but i have no contact mail or detail so please guide me .
I suggest you look through my website for further information- www.borgesrolle.com
Sir, I am from India, so please guide me to license my invention that is free energy engine

@@PatentToronto ok, thankyou
Can you help me get into a company. We been selling it for a couple years people like it fast and easy to use. IT is fully patented for a couple years . Its called Plumbing stabilizer 3000
For insurance reasons I’m not setup to provide those services at this time; however, I’m making more videos on this topic. Stay tuned.
Whats stoping a company from taking the idea.
Hopefully, you have filed for patent protection before meeting the company. Also, you should have the company sign a confidentiality agreement (aka NDA) before meeting them. Those measures will give you significant protection.
Hi Elias I want to sell my idea, I have application project, with UI design, with logo and company logo trade mark done, I am looking for investor, help me

I’ll be releasing more videos soon, including videos on raising funding and approaching companies to sell/license your invention.
What if you know the CEO's home address and send your idea there?
@@PatentToronto Thank you very much. I'm looking forward to watching your upcoming video.
I have an idea product
I have something so amazing will change the further from business and for the people all over the world
I have two ideas for inventions
You should detail your invention in an inventor’s notebook and keep it secure and safe. Then, formulate a marketing plan/strategy. Don’t tell anyone your idea without having them sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) first.
I have a concept that I truly believe will change the scoring system of both amateur and professional boxing. Forever removing the human factor from the scoring of international, Olympic boxing, and professional boxing.
That sounds exciting.
I've heard: get a provisional patent then present it to companies for licensing. 🙏🏼✨🕊 Thank you Elias for your channel
Btw inventors: I downloaded the free version of fusion360 - learnt how to use it from TH-cam tutorials, bought a $250 3d printed and created a working prototype. It took 1 year of many trial and errors.
If you have a burning desire and lots of preserverance, you will succeed.

If you publicly disclosed your invent more than a year ago, then it may be too late to get patent protection for your invention. I suggest you contact a patent lawyer/attorney/solicitor local to you and discuss the situation with him or her. Good luck.

That is unfortunate. Send them an email or two.
I avoided them, had my reasons 😅
Hello, my dear, in fact, I am a student in mechatronics engineering, and I have a development idea for a water pump that is more efficient than its predecessors, but I live in the Middle East and I did not find anyone interested in my project. I wrote to many companies abroad, but they did not pay any attention to me, so I wish I could reach to European or American country. Note that I have a greater chance to meet those who are interested in my idea. Thank you 🌹

The wow factor can apply to how well executed your invention is. Even products which are intended to perform ordinary or mundane things can be very impressive if they are well designed and well executed.
