Crosscode deserves its own video, it entered in my top 10 games of all times. It gave me that feeling of playing a great Snes game in my childhood. Finished with 70h of gameplay without the DLC
It is so good oh my god, it’s just the sega cd terminator game but with the pacing of a metal slug game and has some really good dark humor, it’s on everything too it even has an iOS port lmfao
In this video, it took SNESdrunk exactly 10 minutes and 30 seconds until (after a very long hiatus, I already thought he doesn't like that game anymore!) the mention of "Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball"
I used to read through the box scores in the newspapers and put the lineups into the Griffey games and play the season for hours and hours. There is nothing wrong with Griffey-addiction.
I recently discovered a hidden gem myself on the Switch. It's a game called "Astebreed," and rarely anyone ever talks about it. It's a shmup/action game where you control a mech similar to a Gundam, and the stages constantly change from vertical to horizontal. Plus, it has an interesting story. It usually goes for $20 on the eshop, but I got it for $5 when it was on sale(plus, I had some coins so that dropped it down to $1.35). I give this a solid recommendation to anyone who likes Shmups or Mech games in general.
This is such a great format, promoting so many games that are forgotten or not currently in the public consciousness. It's a great shopping list. Please do a sequel this topic down the line!
I have that collection and re-played Final Fantasy Adventure and did a blind playthrough of Secret of Mana, but I'm taking a break from Mana games for a little bit. How does Trials compare to the other two games? I have a feeling I'm in a controversial camp that actually likes FFA better than SoM, but maybe that's because I didn't have a second player with me and I liked the darker tone of FFA's story (or maybe because I kept unfairly comparing SoM's themes and spritework to Chrono Trigger's and lamenting on the rather simplistic dungeon designs and janky battle responsiveness...)
The Talos Principle is a masterpiece of a first person puzzle game that goes on sale for $4.49 every month or so. I describe it as a mishmash of the Portal games, The Witness, The Matrix, and somehow Super Mario 64, with ancient historical settings and a deeply philosophical story told largely through found texts.
The Talos Principle absolutely blew me away on the Switch. It looks gorgeous on the console and the puzzles are legitimately mind-expanding; I've never seen any other game do what it does with puzzles. But the glue which holds it all together is the narrative, the setting, and the philosophy. If you choose to engage with it fully then you will find yourself pondering for minutes and minutes which answer to choose in a dialogue tree, challenging your own knee-jerk arguments and deeply held beliefs. I was quite shocked at one point to realise that I had argued myself into a contradiction, wishing that I could turn back time and not have given the reply that I did in the beginning. But I had meant it at the time! And all of this from the people who brought the world Serious Sam! The recent sequel on PC is also a joy, although it loses a bit being much more explicit about everything.

I recommend the Switch version of the original Phantasy Star, which is great because it includes a badly needed automapping feature for the dungeons. I also really enjoyed House of the Dead: Remake, it was great with Joy-Cons. Neon Abyss is also really fun, it's a roguelike side scroller bullet hell dungeon crawler that is surprisingly fun and addictive.
Can't recommend Chained Echoes enough - JRPG style gameplay with throwback vibes but some brilliant modern spins on yhe mechanics, plus incredible art and music, and the narrative goes places i didn't expect.
Romancing Saga 3 is definitely my favorite of the Romancing Saga trilogy. Fun gameplay, interesting story and world, and quite a few background games and mechanics to discover.
I was really surprised by how much I loved Katana Zero. Side-scrolling action-puzzle game, but it's high-lethality and fast-paced like Hotline Miami. Huge vaporwave track. You play as a precognitive assassin who uses a katana and your attempts are your character viewing the future to see what would work, in this bleak cyberpunk future. There's some branching story paths and secret bosses, unlockable hidden weapons. Great time.
Bro, THANK YOU for making this video. I love hunting for indie games on my Switch and hate having to look them up on Steam to see which are worth a damn. Love your channel, and keep up the great work!
There's been several fun games I discovered; 3D Platformers; >Toree 3D >Toree 2 >Toree's Panic Pack >Corn Kidz 64 >Lunistice >Spirit of the North 2D Platformers; >Freedom Planet >Freedom Planet 2 >Dust: An Elysian Tail >Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack >Mark of the Ninja: Remastered FPS; >Ion Fury Fighter: >Rivals of Aether Racing; >Horizon Chase Turbo >Hotshot Racing SHMUP; >Radiant Silvergun >Ikaruga >Crimzon Clover World Explosion Sports; >Windjammers >Windjammers 2 Other; >Pinball FX >Pinball FX3 >Pinball M >Star Wars Pinball >Lethal League Blaze >Skatebird >World of Goo >Corpse Party
I would like to add Meg's Monster to this. Anyone who likes short, emotional, easy role-playing games will have a lot of fun with this title. No need to thank me.
Your list has so many games I play constantly that I thought no one else ever played…my heart is melted. I literally play “Slay the Spire” and “Bad North” almost every single day as my calming down games
Have you tried Monster Train? Of all the Slay the Spire derivatives, it’s by far the best one. The 3-tiered combat differentiates it just enough from StS to make it worth it.
I felt like I knew most of the games in the video so, here's a few recs that I think most people here can appreciate: Barrier X (HIGH-SPEED arcade game similar to Thumper) Battle Princess Madelyn (Nice Ghost's and Ghouls clone) Bomb Rush Cyberfunk (Jet Set Radio 3) Ender Lilies (Beautiful Metroidvania) Gal Guardians Demon Purge (Similar to Castlevania) Infernax (NES style action platformer) Megaton Musashi W (Mecha Action RPG) Moon Remix RPG (English version of an obscure PSX JRPG-like) Slave Zero X (Amazing 2D hack and slash) Super Cyborg (If you like Contra you need to try this) Hong Kong Massacre (Hong Kong Action Movie in game form) The Denpa Men NEW (Sequel to 3DS RPG series) Tormented Souls (Nice Resident Evil and Silent Hill style game) I could be here all day listing games, the Switch is the best!
Battle Princess Madelyn is tough .... Very wonderful love letter to Ghosts n Goblins ... Hong Kong Massacre is very much worth the 3⁹⁹ you can often find it for ... Let me add 198×, The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa, and Korg Gadget ^~^
I love these kinds of videos. I do have a few suggestions for some hidden gems on Switch: Mad Rat Dead- A cheerfully morbid rhythm platformer where you move to the beat of your heart. #Blud- A Zelda/Earthbound style adventure titled mixed with Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Billy & Mandy hijinks with an art style reminiscent of late 2000's Cartoon Network. Cobalt Core: A card based deckbuilding rouge like that has you managing a ship in a single axis battle system. Citizen Sleeper- A tapletop rpg visual novel hybrid that has you trying to survive and resource manage on a space station. Them's Fightin' Herds- An animal based 2D fighting game with plenty of charm and simple, but deceptively complex fighting mechanics you can master at your own pace. Umurangi Generation- A first person based photography game in a futuristic dystopia with loads of style and character. Tunic- A Zelda like, but with some lite souls mechanics and smartly put together hidden secrets that recreate the feel of NES Zelda without the condescending cryptic nature. Rain World- A survival side scroller where you play a slugcat trying to live. Very deep in mechanics, ai, and controls. Haven- A romantic couples sci-fi rpg where you try to survive in a derelict planet together that's simple to pick up and play. Neon White- A speedrunning shooter that tasks you to play for the best score possible while teaching you about speedrunning through gameplay without telling. Hyper Light Drifter- A post apocalyptic naturepunk playing similar to A Link to the Past, but much more free form in player choice on where you start and how you upgrade. Wargroove 1 & 2- A medieval-esque grid based tactical rpg in line with similar gameplay to Advanced Wars. Owlboy- A sidescrolling adventure game that sees you playing as a mute owl trying to save his dying floating landscape from falling to abyss. Gorgeous sprite work and a gut punching story in a few places. Downwell- An arcade style rogue lite platformer where you try to survive going down a well to progress as you fight monsters. Overwhelm- A crude, minimalist 2D sidescroller in line with Virtual Boy visuals that has you fighting in a sort of boss rush type game, with the catch being that you are incredibly vulnerable. Carrion- Metroidvania mixed with The Thing. ...That's my sales pitch for it, and it's every bit as creative as you can get with this premise. Killer Queen Black- A simple, but deep Joust type scoring game where you play as a team to compete against other workers to score the most points. It's not on eshop anymore (online servers died), but the physical should still be floating around if you're into local multiplayer games. Gato Roboto- A bite sized Metroidvania- but you play as a cat. Minit- A Zelda-like but the catch is you play in a minute and have to restart from your last save point each time. Night in the Woods- A story focused platformer where you live the life of a 20-something college dropout with very fleshed out characters that captures the feeling of loneliness and anxiety of a directionless 20 year old. Demon Turf- A cute pseudo 2D-3D platforming hybrid that has you fighting in turf warfare with other demons. Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition- A remastered port of the PC point & click game from 1997 that has you playing as a separate Blade Runner disconnected from the events of the movie. Dex- A 2D cyberpunk sidescrolling rpg hybrid with deep gameplay mechanics. Thief Simulator- A first person open world stealth game that let's you master breaking and entering homes to steal as much as you can under certain conditions. Starlink: Battle for Atlas- A simple space sim with a lot of Ubisoft open world staples- but in space and additional Star Fox content exclusive to the Switch version. Chex Quest HD- Kid friendly Doom with a cereal mascot. Cult of the Lamb- A rogue like dungeon crawling cult building sim that keeps growing with each new update that's come out and now has 2 player local co-op. Sol Cresta- Hideki Kamiya's last game at Platinum Games that's a shoot 'em up. Astral Chain- A very overlooked Switch exclusive from Platinum Games that's about futuristic cyberpunk police fighting inter dimensional beings using other captured one's to fight back.
Thank you for this. It's tough to figure out which games to buy, there's so many choices. This kind of video is really utilitarian and customer-friendly. I've added a few of these games to my wishlist. Awesomesauce!!
I would like to recommend UNSIGHTED, that game is pixelated awesomeness and has a unique time mechanic that adds pressure to your playthrough to avoid any characters dying off, you can also toggle it off for a different experience if you like as well 👍🏼
The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince and The Cruel King and the Great Hero are some of my favorite gems. They're simple games, but the atmosphere is great and the stories and art SUPER endearing!
I should really play King and Hero sometimes, Princess and Prince was an unexpectedly sweet story even if the whole game was a big escort mission but man-the backlog is vast and I usually play these REALLY big RPG's that takes me months to clear, so it's not always easy to sneak in something smaller... is it as platformy as Princess and Prince, or is it more like an RPG with turnbased battles?
I would highly recommend "a short hike". You play a bird that tries to climb a mountain on a Island. It as great game mechanics, a cute story and a lot of charme!
Thank you sooo much for keep the game titles on the screen while you talked about them! Wish every channel did this! This was my first video I watched of yours and subbed right away
To toss a couple games into the ring for a future sequel: Gunbrella Astalon: Tears of the Earth Wolfstride Vernal Edge World of Horror The only Switch/console exclusive stuff that I can't get on Steam are things like Unicorn Overlord and 13 Sentinels by the developer Vanillaware, who for whatever reason, refuses to have their games ported to PC. Also, in the same vein as the remakes you have at the end of the video, in that they're made by bigger publishers but overlooked: I tried those Famicom Detective Club remakes . . . they're really quite good for quick simple graphic adventure games/visual novel style games. Fully voiced and everything (though Japanese exclusive audio). I definitely feel like that genre's an acquired taste, and I know I'm only ever in the mood for that style of game occasionally, since usually I want my games to be more active as I'd rather just watch a show or a movie if it's more passive and story focused, but these ones worked for me anyway, and I think a lot of people sleep on them.
Hey! I would like to recommend Bloodless (Launch OUT, 10th). Its like Zelda (Links Awakening) + Sekiro (parry mechanics). The art is something between Neo Geo Pocket and Game Boy Color. Its gorgeous.
Great to see another post and love the style of this. I enjoy finding new games on my switch because it's so versatile, I often find myself with a few minutes to play it, so needless to say it's great to find new games for the console. Post the seconds video soon!
I'm such a fan of this channel I'm glad you're doing more content and branching out into other nintendo consoles. I love the switchdrunk and segadrunk segments, here's hoping to see Drunk64 or cubedrunk for games that feel close to the classics on SNES
happy to see Huntdown on the list. a real gem of 2D action, one of the few games i ever 100%ed. perfect SegaCD-style voice acting, too bad the name doesn't stand out.
LOVE THIS! MORE PLEASE! Dude I've been watching you seriously nearly ten years. You make some of the coolest content on youTube plus you always hope I have a good day. I notice that and appreciate it. ❤
Hey snes drunk love your channel !!!! Hopefully you can get back to making videos more then once a month. I'm a long time subscriber to your channel. Miss how you'd always upload new videos every week. Hopefully you can get back to that. You got the best channel on all of TH-cam! Keep the SNES and nes and genesis game reviews coming :)
@@nickwest932 That game is even free on GOG. It's a late 90's low budget PC action RPG, and it's pretty fun. Pretty juvenile though, be prepared for some humor that's clearly aimed at teenagers, but with a name like Dink Smallwood I guess that's not too unexpected. Also I hope you're not fond of ducks...
Great video. I really enjoyed the change of pace. Ya know what else is good that could have fit in this list? Blossom Tales 1 and 2. Simple yet super tight and fun little action/zelda likes. Very well made. 👋
Great to hear some love for Goblin Sword, I've played through it numerous times. Another game is Chasm, a lovely little metroidvania. It's often on sale and I would highly recommend it (so much I bought the LRG Physical!)
One really nice thing about modern consoles (although I never held one) is that you can play new games that look like 35 years old games (Odallus) and easily switch to something more in tune with the modern graphics, like Thomper.
One racing game that's absolutely worth checking out is Super Woden GP 2. The races themselves are a bit like R.C. Pro-Am, isometric and powerslide-heavy, but it's structured like the old Gran Turismo games with a tons of (unlicensed but clearly modeled after real) cars and tracks, all organized into a bunch of different events and disciplines. It's all the work of a single dev and is only $13, HIGHLY recommended.
Great video! We need more of this! Some games I think fly under the radar I think are great: 1) The Ascent (Cyberpunk Action RPG) 2) Everspace 2 (the Freespace game we never got) 3) Legend Bowl 4) Sunday Rivals 5) Lonely Mountains Downhill (a relaxing mountain biking thing) 6) New Star GP (I play this more than modern F1 games) 7) Prodeus (damn good FPS) 8) Thunder Wolves (a really dumb but fun over the top helicopter action game)
"Overlooked jaspers" I like it haha. Another great newer deck building roguelike I can't say enough about is Balatro. It's basically deck building poker, but the way you can use passive joker cards, consumable tarot cards, suit conversions, and more to completely change the way the game is played is absolutely genius. Definitely give this one a try if you're even remotely a fan of the genre, poker, or both!
There is a fun homebrew demake of Overcooked called "Supercooked" for SNES. Right up your alley, homebrewdrunk. A lot of care was put into that version, its pretty nice.
Romancing SaGa 3 mentioned, i am happy! I'm really curious about the RS2 remake coming out in October. The original and remaster were both brutal difficulty wise, but there's something in that one I really liked, despite the fact I have yet to finish any version 😅 i wouldn't call the SaGa series a hidden gem per se, it's more of an acquired taste, but it's one i developed a taste for in recent years and while I haven't dug too deep in the two black sheep of the series (Frontier 2 and Unlimited, also the only two who have yet to receive a re-release, remaster or remake) I haven't been really disappointed in any of them as they all bring something interesting to balance their negative aspects. And i know, even among fans of the series you'll find people who will disagree with me. I don't have the nostalgia of the series because it took over twenty years for it to click with me, so I have an open mind for the flash-game-ish ones like Scarlet Grace and Emerald Beyond
My only experiences with SaGa are Minstrel Song and the intro for RS2, I'm looking at how many more of these games i could play on Switch and get choice paralysis.
@@LakituAl Romancing SaGa 3 and SaGa Frontier remaster are both good options. While still challenging, they are both easier because sidequests aren't affected by the number of battles you fought. They also both have a money exploit that give you an opportunity to buy better equipment and increase your chances of survival. I know some will consider this cheating, but the fact they didn't remove those exploits from the remaster makes me say it's fair game.
Thx for this. Just picked up the official expansion pack to get old snes classics and while a lot is familiar, there's a ton of obscura in there. A video on hidden gems and/or what not to waste your time on in the packs would be greatly appreciated, puttin' it out there. Or even what the hell is going on, in some cases.
Cool, added to my wishlist. The accompaniment to Slain that was mentioned is Valfaris; better game with a full NG+ system to find new and cool weapons. Great final boss as well!
@@bigduke5902 Lol. I absolutely love games _like_ Crosscode but when I tried it out I kinda hated it. I found the writing really obnoxious and derivative, and wasn't a fan of the over-emphasis on puzzle-solving as opposed to combat. It's very stop & start, definitely not for everyone.
It's a fun game but I found the game to be punishingly hard. I had to turn it down to the lowest damage and highest HP to survive and slowest puzzles to actually be able to do them.
I'm really looking forward to another relaxing SNES or switch music compilation based off of some of these games! There are some absolute bangers that would put me right in study/work mode.
Awesome video! I'd say about 50% of these suggestions are right up my alley, and a few more caught my interest. I'll be checking a few of these out. And sharing the video with my friends.
I have Slain, Back From Hell, on my XBox One. It's like a combination of Castlevania, and Ghost and Goblins, with a darker theme and definitely worth the price. It's seemingly always on sale, and I picked it up for like $2.50. Can't buy much for 2 and a half bucks these days, let alone a game that's a solid playthrough.
I friggin loved Crosscode, I got about 120 hours out of it. The story, music, gameplay, everything about that game is great. Also really liked Trials of Mana. Probably one of the most faithful remakes I've seen. Even the shopkeepers are still doing that weird dance they did on SNES. The only thing I dislike about ToM, is that it didn't have 3 player coop, and the ai is kinda dumb sometimes. The hardest difficulty makes them invincible though lol.
CrossCode is one of those games that I really liked at first, but got too busy with side quests and whatnot. It was almost overwhelming and I ended up quitting during (or after?) the ice dungeon. Which I think was only the second or third dungeon.
The same devs who made Slain have also made an amazing Run 'n' Gun platform game called Valfaris, which has a soundtrack by the former guitarist of Celtic Frost & a cool Warhammer 40/ Metal aesthetic.
It's easy to find indie games that are fun for everybody, but hard to find games that are obscure yet uniquely engaging to me specifically. I paid a buck for "Clan O'Conall And The Crown Of The Stag" and while it wasn't life-changing, I loved it for what it was. A breezy Lost Vikings-esque puzzle platformer doing Celtic mythology with a Samurai Jack artstyle
Excellent video! This is a VERY useful list with community comment suggestions that just keep on giving! I'm bookmarking this one. I can only think of two contributions to add here: 1. Try making a second Nintendo Switch account that uses Japan region and switching to that account to be able to check out Japanese indie games. At the very least you can also get the Famicom and Super Famicom emulators to play Japan-based classic Nintendo games. 2. If your Joy-cons are starting to suffer from stick drift, Nintendo will still repair them for free via their support site! I sent mine in and used an 8BitDo controller as a substitute while I waited, and the turn-around time was just a little over two weeks. Oddly enough their repair note stated that they couldn't (or more likely, wouldn't) reproduce the problem although they replaced the sticks anyway, but, hey, my Joy-cons no longer suffer from stick drift!
To me, the most underrated game on the switch has got to be "Jet Lancer". I was truly surprised how much I enjoyed the gameplay, It's a 2D shooter, but I wouldn't catagorize it as a shmup. The game starts you off nice and slow and before you know it you're whipping around the screen shooting down waves of jets and crazy bosses. It might sound like I'm describing. any of the bunch of shooters on the switch, but there isn't another game like it.. Can't believe no-one talks about that one. oh and probably the second most underrated game, in my opinion, is the racing game "Slipstream." This is unabashedly inspired by "Outrun" and it's my favorite racing game on the switch. It feels like a classic arcade game and has just a great sense of speed.
The devs that made Odallus are the same that made Moonrider and Blazing Chrome. They also made Oniken, which also well worth checking out and goes on sale pretty often.
Chained Echoes should be placed up there alongside CrossCode as turn-based bang-for-your-buck counterpart. Modern masterpiece - emphatically recommend!
Cross Code is an excellent game. I would highly recommend it. I would also recommend Gravity Circuit. Fantastic game that goes on sale on the eShop from time to time. If you like Mega Man at all, you gotta play this. Hades is a great game as well. I picked that up for 10 bucks and I have been playing the hell out of it recently. But I feel like everyone already knows about Hades. Dave the Diver was a lot of fun, while still being a very relaxing game. My son and I got addicted to that game for 2 months straight. It's not for everyone, but we loved it. And finally, I will mention Fight N' Rage. It's an old school style beat em up that flows really well. If you dig those kind of games, then it's worth your time.
Another Crusade - It's basically a spiritual successor to Super Mario RPG, but everyone is a puppet like Geno and Bowser is a real Dragon. Super funny, makes several jokes towards Super Mario RPG, and just feels great. Lots of great jokes with the protagonist being mute instead of silent. "What am I am Italian Plumber? I can't jump to the roof of a building" "Why are we taking the dangerous mine path? If we didn't, what kind of RPG would this be?"
My favorite hidden gem is Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon. A puzzle rouge like with all sorts of fun little trinkets to play around with. playable bosses, hats that customize your experience, set aside bonus challenges, etcetera.
It’s great to see a switch games recommendation video from you! It would be nice if you could make a video about action/real-time RPGs just like the one you got for the SNES.
Great style of vid man... I think we all take your word/opinion on EVERYTHING, so it's basically a 30 game "OH I GOTTA CHECK THIS ONE OUT" suggestion list... I def would love more of this kind of thing. I think u did it for Steam too once or twice, no? Well regardless, I'd love to see a Steam one, and definitely some more, uh, "play this game any way you can" SNES DRUNK specials too.. Ps, as a goof, do a solo title video on that amazing 5 star,,video game industry changing American classic, Steven Seagal is The Final Justice or Ultimate Weapon, or Pile of Walking Crap or whatever that GEM was lol... the death bellow is the stuff that makes you quote The Sandlot and say "legends never die"
I highly recommend "For the King". It's something of an RPG-meets-board game that has a bit of a steep learning curve to start, but becomes unbelievably fun once you get the hang of it, especially in local multiplayer. "Super Blood Hockey" and "Death Road to Canada" are also superb.
I saw the thumb included CrossCode and came running!! Such a great game! Needs to be talked about much more!
Crosscode deserves its own video, it entered in my top 10 games of all times. It gave me that feeling of playing a great Snes game in my childhood. Finished with 70h of gameplay without the DLC
Nah fr. It's in my own Top #15 favorite games of all time and that's saying quite a lot considering that I normally don't give games high praise
Huntdown is such an awesome game, I wish more people talked about it
Game Sack
The trailer got me hooked to buy that game. It was like a grindhiuse movie or something and it was so funny.
I stumbled onto it on Steam and played through most of it with a friend. Such a great game.
It is so good oh my god, it’s just the sega cd terminator game but with the pacing of a metal slug game and has some really good dark humor, it’s on everything too it even has an iOS port lmfao
I love that game. The bosses keep kicking my ass though but the setting, humour, simple but effective gameplay all scratch a certain itch.
In this video, it took SNESdrunk exactly 10 minutes and 30 seconds until (after a very long hiatus, I already thought he doesn't like that game anymore!) the mention of "Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball"
🎉 it makes me smile every time. SOMEHOW it's mentioned.
Will they ever add Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball to Switch Online?
I used to read through the box scores in the newspapers and put the lineups into the Griffey games and play the season for hours and hours. There is nothing wrong with Griffey-addiction.
I missed you Brother.

I agree about HOTD Remake. That game gets SO much shit but it's honestly not bad at all and regularly goes on sale for like $7. 🤷♂️
Where have you gone Snesdrunk!? 1 month gone.. dang we miss new content 🎉 hope all is well!?❤
Love seeing Bad North on the list. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with that game. The soundscape sets such a foreboding, ominous tone. Very cool.
THUMPER MENTIONED!!! If you like Thumper listen to the band Lightning Bolt, the bassist for Lightning Bolt does the music for Thumper! Theyre amazing
The soundtrack is so good while also being so different from Lightning Bolt (but just as violent).
Can't recommend Chained Echoes enough - JRPG style gameplay with throwback vibes but some brilliant modern spins on yhe mechanics, plus incredible art and music, and the narrative goes places i didn't expect.

Second. This game absolutely blew me away. One of the most engaging, self-contained experiences I've had with a game in a long, long time.
Bro, THANK YOU for making this video. I love hunting for indie games on my Switch and hate having to look them up on Steam to see which are worth a damn. Love your channel, and keep up the great work!

This video is gold. I’m always looking for good indie games I haven’t heard of, so right up my alley. Thanks dude.
Hope everything is doing well. Miss seeing updates.
I felt like I knew most of the games in the video so, here's a few recs that I think most people here can appreciate:
Barrier X (HIGH-SPEED arcade game similar to Thumper)
Battle Princess Madelyn (Nice Ghost's and Ghouls clone)
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk (Jet Set Radio 3)
Ender Lilies (Beautiful Metroidvania)
Gal Guardians Demon Purge (Similar to Castlevania)
Infernax (NES style action platformer)
Megaton Musashi W (Mecha Action RPG)
Moon Remix RPG (English version of an obscure PSX JRPG-like)
Slave Zero X (Amazing 2D hack and slash)
Super Cyborg (If you like Contra you need to try this)
Hong Kong Massacre (Hong Kong Action Movie in game form)
The Denpa Men NEW (Sequel to 3DS RPG series)
Tormented Souls (Nice Resident Evil and Silent Hill style game)
I could be here all day listing games, the Switch is the best!
There quite a few of these i haven’t heard of! I’m intrigued
I do have a few suggestions for some hidden gems on Switch:
Mad Rat Dead- A cheerfully morbid rhythm platformer where you move to the beat of your heart.
Thank you so much for bringing CrossCode to light. A wonderful game.
Thank you for this. It's tough to figure out which games to buy, there's so many choices. This kind of video is really utilitarian and customer-friendly. I've added a few of these games to my wishlist. Awesomesauce!!
I would like to recommend UNSIGHTED, that game is pixelated awesomeness and has a unique time mechanic that adds pressure to your playthrough to avoid any characters dying off, you can also toggle it off for a different experience if you like as well 👍🏼
A Robot named Fight. Classic Metroid as roguelike. Extremely hidden shining gem!!!
It's so good!
Great video. And you showed Goblin Sword. I love this game. And check out Vigil. It’s a 2D souls-ish game that is pretty good.
@@goranisacson2502 Yeah, there's no platforming in King and Hero. Just a Paper Mario-esque RPG adventure.
Another hidden gem is Mad Rat Dead. It's a mix of rhythm and platformer with a well-done art style and a fantastic soundtrack.
I would highly recommend "a short hike". You play a bird that tries to climb a mountain on a Island. It as great game mechanics, a cute story and a lot of charme!
Your content is like comfort food for me. Please don't stop making it
More people NEED to play Okami. It’s one of my most favorite games of all time. Such a unique experience.
Thank you sooo much for keep the game titles on the screen while you talked about them! Wish every channel did this! This was my first video I watched of yours and subbed right away
To toss a couple games into the ring for a future sequel:
Gunbrella
Astalon: Tears of the Earth
Wolfstride
Vernal Edge
World of Horror
The only Switch/console exclusive stuff that I can't get on Steam are things like Unicorn Overlord and 13 Sentinels by the developer Vanillaware, who for whatever reason, refuses to have their games ported to PC.
One of the better curated “scenic route” lists I’ve seen. Thank you!
Wasn't expecting hearing a reference to Braves legend Odalis Pérez well done
It’s in my top ten of all time now
So badass
LOVE THIS! MORE PLEASE! Dude I've been watching you seriously nearly ten years. You make some of the coolest content on youTube plus you always hope I have a good day. I notice that and appreciate it. ❤
CrossCode is like Secret of Mana crossed wuth Golden Sun, in an isekai setting. It's great!
Dick Sportswood has to be the best meme name.
What about Dink Smallwood?
@@39zack what game is that from?
@@nickwest932 the game is named that
Bobson Dugnutt in the comments: 🥺
@@nickwest932 That game is even free on GOG. It's a late 90's low budget PC action RPG, and it's pretty fun. Pretty juvenile though, be prepared for some humor that's clearly aimed at teenagers, but with a name like Dink Smallwood I guess that's not too unexpected. Also I hope you're not fond of ducks...
Good morning Clyde T. Dog
Great video. I really enjoyed the change of pace. Ya know what else is good that could have fit in this list? Blossom Tales 1 and 2. Simple yet super tight and fun little action/zelda likes. Very well made. 👋
I love this! Quite a few hidden gems I'm going to check out soon! With the amount of games the Switch has, you could make an infinite amount of videos
Amazing as always. I watch these before i drive to work. Great way to start a day
Great to hear some love for Goblin Sword, I've played through it numerous times. Another game is Chasm, a lovely little metroidvania. It's often on sale and I would highly recommend it (so much I bought the LRG Physical!)
Love both of these games!
I appreciated your recommend of What the Golf way back. Got that a couple years ago and really enjoyed it!
One really nice thing about modern consoles (although I never held one) is that you can play new games that look like 35 years old games (Odallus) and easily switch to something more in tune with the modern graphics, like Thomper.
I know there's been times where it was unavailable but Scott Pilgrim versus the world on switch is amazing. Especially the music.
Odallus Perez! Drunk's knowledge of past sports players (in all the big 4 American sports leagues) continues to impress.
What a great compilation, I'm glad I've played a few of them while there're more gems to enjoy. Thanks SDrunk! 👍🏼
CrossCode is easily between my top 5 games ever. Glad to read such nice comments towards it!!
Great video! We need more of this!
Some games I think fly under the radar I think are great:
1) The Ascent (Cyberpunk Action RPG)
2) Everspace 2 (the Freespace game we never got)
3) Legend Bowl
4) Sunday Rivals
5) Lonely Mountains Downhill (a relaxing mountain biking thing)
6) New Star GP (I play this more than modern F1 games)
7) Prodeus (damn good FPS)
8) Thunder Wolves (a really dumb but fun over the top helicopter action game)
SNES Drunk has such a chill channel that can make you nostalgic for new and old games. Best retro channel.
Master Key should be on the next list of this sort. It's the best Zelda game I've played with no Nintendo involvement. Awesome video!
I search through the switch store daily and have for years. I've NEVER known Spelunky 2 was in it. I love your channel man
"Overlooked jaspers" I like it haha.
The Space Ghost reference was top notch and the introduction of Dick Sportswood to the drunkiverse makes this video an easy recommendation.
Thanks for this video! It is just what I needed.
There is a fun homebrew demake of Overcooked called "Supercooked" for SNES. Right up your alley, homebrewdrunk. A lot of care was put into that version, its pretty nice.
Whoa, gonna see if I can get that going after work!
Yes! Rayman Legends is so much fun (especially as it's pretty much always on sale). 10 mins before a Ken Griffey jr reference as well...
Picked up Huntdown at your suggestion (and added a bunch to my wishlist). Awesome game! Bad Boy Bob was great! Ooh, yeah!
Plugging Vividlope, that is all
Great list! Even some really deep cuts I've never heard of, thank you.
Cross Code is the best game no one has played with the exception of La Mulana.
Agreed!
Cool, added to my wishlist.
The accompaniment to Slain that was mentioned is Valfaris; better game with a full NG+ system to find new and cool weapons.
Great final boss as well!
@@osurpless You're going to absolutely hate it. Enjoy.
Awesome list thank you for this, added a few hidden gems!
I'm really looking forward to another relaxing SNES or switch music compilation based off of some of these games! There are some absolute bangers that would put me right in study/work mode.
You're doing the real work, showing us what we missed. Thanks!🎉🎉🎉
That’s precisely why I stopped playing FFVII Rebirth. It was so overloaded with side quests I got burned out.
I can only think of two contributions to add here:
There’s so many lists on TH-cam. This is one of the best.
Shout out to CrossCode. For me one of the best games on the plataform and im not even joking.
I miss your videos. I hope however you are you’re doing well.
Gotta Protectors: Cart of Darkness remains slept on
Cross Code is an excellent game.
I can't jump to the roof of a building"
"Why are we taking the dangerous mine path? If we didn't, what kind of RPG would this be?"
Man, I'm astonished by how good Fast RMX looks & performs on the Switch. I'm not usually a fan of the genre but the eye candy alone is reason to play.
Randomly Odalis Perez was the first autograph I ever got on a baseball when he played for the Braves. RIP.
Glad someone is talking about CrossCode. That game rules. PS I hope you cover the Suikoden 1/2 Remasters whenever those come out :)
looks like cross code got some DLC too! and your right okami is a amazeing game!
Yay Romancing SaGa 3 mentioned! All of the SaGa games are very unique gems and worth playing.
