      It’s the same with English. People should be taught English English, because it’s more complex, and better respected. Yet a lot of teachers teach American English which is basically an abbreviated version, less complex spellings, less nuance etc.

    • @TienNguyen-wv1ys
      @TienNguyen-wv1ys 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Saying chao only is leaving it very hanging. Similar to saying hello to something invisible. Not useful. You should chao someone. I.e add a pronoun of the person you are directing chao to. E.g chao Ong --> hello sir.
      If you simply want to say hello without directing to a pronoun , so that would be less personal. Use xin Chao.
      Always remember if you directly address someone then it will come off as more personable more amicable and relatable. But the less words you use then it will come off as more tersely more cut more rude infact even. Hope this helps.

    Beautiful video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.

    • @TienNguyen-wv1ys
      @TienNguyen-wv1ys 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are 3 distinct accents being the north , central (hue region) and south. These are accents since the spelling is still the same but the way people pronounce in those regions will be different. The northern is more pure and like the spanish spoken in Spain Europe. The south is more relaxed tone similar to the spanish in the Americas. The middle(hue) accent is so unique and different even vietnamese finds tricky imitate. If you ever study Spanish you probably find that studying the Latino type Spanish is much easier then the spanish spoken in Spain. Thus I find the southern vietnamese accent is the easiest to work with.

    I'm a 57 yr old american who as a military brat could speak fluent German as a child. I learned basic Japanese when I was I Okinawa while in the marines in 1986. In 2014 I meat a vietnamese lady online. She moved here in 2016. In 2017 we had a son in spite of our age she being 42 and me 52. He is very bilingual and talks shit to me in vietnamese. So here I am. Vietnamese is hard to learn because of the voul pronunciation. I live near houston.

    Hello, "teacher"! You need pay much attention to your pronunciation on "hissing sounds". Final "s" of a word is so important in teaching a language for new beginners. For instance: words, wants, churches, weeks, potatoes... Thank you !

    I still don't understand the hỏi accent mark. Sometimes I hear people just lower their pitch, but others have explained that it sounds like a question mark (lower pitch, then raise pitch).

      I actually don't agree with Neoflare bcz the hỏi tone is pronounced the same in the North and the South. I have a video for practising tones. you could check it out on my channel.

    Just use "Hello/Hi" instead of "Xin chào" or "Chào". "Xin chào" is in the teaching book only, native speakers rarely use them in real conversation. "Chào" is normally used in a sentence instead of using it alone to say hello to someone. "Chào" can still be used alone when you want to say "Hi" but for most Vietnamese when you say "chào", it's more like an-awkward-don't-know-what-to-say hello.

    Some words are left out and translation is close but not exactly accurate. Accuracy and explanation is very important to foreigners , especially a language like Vietnamese
