Pro tip: Those Crown Vics will take off harder in Drive than L¹ for some reason......I don't think alot of people know that about these cars yet.
I’ve always called it a clutch start, which isn’t applicable in a crown Vic, but i think that’s still the proper term.
Huge respect to the facility at Indy seeing the potential you and your guys doing burnout contests bring. Pouring that pad for stuff like this in the future shows they believe in what you guys are doing, that's gotta feel good. You can see what people REALLY think when they're willing to get their own money involved.

Anything that could be raced he would build from go carts,riding mowers,dirt track, off road trucks and drag cars. Jack of all trades. But always a blast to be around and always up beat and full of knowledge., he taught me so much about cars and life. It was an honor to be around him. I miss him dearly. I can't even rate them from favorite to most favorite, each one of these guys is so unique and brings something different that it comes through the screen as just guys having a blast, nothing seems forced, each one of them wants to be there, from crunch time getting a car ready as it's getting loaded too sam just endlessly polishing anything with a smooth surface lol

I think the rear spoilers on the Crown Vics was a great idea. Just enough downforce to prevent the fishtailing that plagued the first couple races.

This is why TRUE stock car racing needs to come back.
That already exists in various forms. Such as hobby stocks, street stocks, pure stocks, etc.
That's not true stock car racing.... Back when nascar started, whatever car won the race was the one dealers sold the next day.... You could go buy the same exact car, same motor everything. It is not like that now.
We are all grateful to be able to enjoy the company of Mr. Sam. He is such a wonderful man with an infectious smile full of joy and energy and his life is being extended day by day through his daily interactions with Cleeter and the boys. Thanks for all that you do for him!

You'd legitimately be amazed how much the draft can do at even reasonably low speeds. Even in our Prelude road course car being behind someone can be good for a few hundred extra RPMs on relatively short straights. Judging off the footage it looks like the middle lane is the place to be. Carries the momentum on exit and should be easier on those right fronts.
Draft works at 55 mph, behind semi rigs there is a spot where you will the feel the car bounce around being buffeted, pull closer by a car length with plenty left behind you and there you are in the pocket. Great for extending fuel range for couple miles.
This race has all the ingredients to be the best Crown Vic race yet! Can't wait to watch.
And possibly... the most sketchy. These things are going fast. Lets get it !!! (edit)... He says they are not faster than the FF but it just seems so much faster when watching. Time will tell.

@@dylanrampage9360 I cant remember the FF race MPH but it just looks faster. Fortunately its at a track with the safer barriers. I wish all racers the best and it will be a blast. I cant believe how far Cleetus and crew have come over the years. Such a great story.
I know the F500 should stay home at the FF, but this is probably a better location for it. This track could be all about speed and staying power, and could very easily leave rookies behind. Really curious to see how VGG does. With a good car and low cautions, he's a top 5 driver.

I love racing Crown Vics too. I was a street cop for 30 yrs and a side assignment of pursuit driving instructor for about 15 yrs. I loved hitting our road course with them.

It's cool watching a guy build what could be the next stock car racing series. It's almost like NASCAR back in the good old days. I want to see him try going to an open race format type with like a 30 car limit and the only rules are factory body, engine, and a good cage.
It's almost like watching a new TH-cam series on a behind the scenes look at an established racing category. These dudes took a huge risk and it's panning out soooo good.

Every other form of racing, and most car events, have really (for me) become petty drama. Garrett has brought back fun to car racing, with cars the public can identify with and deep looks behinds the scenes- all real stuff by great people. Grass roots stuff. Keep 'er rolling, Garrett- you have the formula.

@@ryanlamfers8692 , no doubt it does, especially because they can use that concrete pad for car shows or to park emergency vehicles when events are on.
If I owed the track and someone wanted to pour a big slab of concrete and pick up the tab, I would not be complaining.
Just and FYI, IRP is over 2/3rds of a mile, not a half mile. Might not sound like much but it's a lot bigger than Martinsville and Bristol which are a half mile.
Sam is just that guy you can always depend on. Hes awesome i still stand by the idea that he needs his own channel where he live streams himself cleaning up the cars.
Brother, when I started watching you, I couldn’t go to your event because it didn’t exist. You had just supercharged Leroy, and I had just bought my first sports car (a completely clapped 93 500sl I named the mershady). After a few years, cars, jobs, and blown motors, today I can’t make it to the event because I’m going to an auto cross in my built evo an hour out of town. I don’t think you got me in to cars, but damn y’all kept me going through the bad times with them. That’s racing though. Crazy that we’re in the same town today flooring it and doing something cool. You can live life in the stands or behind the wheel, I didn’t think I had the minerals, but following your (and others’) progression has shown me the way. Thank you.

Tire pressure:
Run like 40 psi in the front - 28-30 in the rear.
It induces oversteer and prevents push (understeer).
Makes the car looser.
It's not magic but helps.
From turbo whistles on a vette to interstate shows and races, sending 76mm turbos to fans and just being a general good dude. I'm glad this channel among others gives me the inspiration to build something and have fun in life.

@@54raceman I don't wish it on anyone. Nearly 40 years of watching local racing, you learn a few things. These cars are equipped basically like enduro cars, and the track at Indy is long past the sane point of speed for cars like this.

Running the freedom factory is one thing.... but indy is another lol. You might want to upgrade the cages in them cars. If you put one of them in the wall or roll at 100+ mph you'll wish you had more then a roll bar lol
The bottom line will tear that right front up so the middle to top lane with more banking will help you save the right front

I'd be worried about engines holding up. I suspect fewer cautions, meaning way higher RPMs for way longer.

May want to tell everyone to avoid looping out at all costs. There's a lot of space between the inside line and the wall to get really swapped up and nail it head on. I would encourage everyone wear a hans.
They require Hans devices for all race and burnout contest participants I'm pretty sure. Have for a couple years.
@@SirWilliam84600 hans wouldn’t help in the burnout contest stuff because hans devices only work with a directly head on impact which is rare doing burnouts and without a 5 point harness to hold the hans device down the hans device does nothing
Imagine the liability insurance Cleetus must have for these drivers safety.
That's what the waiver is for. I'm sure it frees him and the track from liability. It would be crazy to put on this kind of events without one.

i believe its a waiver, Hence why we struggle to see "big" names, many Racing pros insurance wont cover these sort of events.

@@MrSupermugen Yeah it would be cool to see some big names. Someone like, Vaughn Gittin Jr., Brian Deegan, Hailie Deegan, Alex Bowman, Kurt Busch, Chelsea Denofa. It would be cool to see some pros like that show up to an event. Too bad I guess. LOL The actual reason you don't see tons of pros at every event is pros already have a race schedule and quite often they are in some other part of the world racing, rather than where they actually live.

the only racing im truly invested in is these crown vic races. i love to see so many different people coming together and putting on such a cool race.
I love the fact sam is on the team. Imagine getting to an age where you think everything is slowing down then boom you have been given the opportunity to have the adventures of a lifetime. Says a lot about the character of you all well done.
