    by the way skip you can change your key binds in the main menu - select "Classic Hoteys" instead of "Grid Hotkeys" - The grid hotkeys are for WASD controls, CoH2 had them as well

    Yeah, there was a RTS where you have a commander and FP unit called "Actions" it was called Savage and Savage 2. It takes place in the Heroes of Newerth world and predated the MOBA that was originally a DOTA clone. Players can spawn in as basic unit for free and can pay extra gear and consumable with gold which slowly trickles in, gain from scoring kills, or given by commander. Better units can be tech and is gate kept by the fact they cost gold which you can requested and has to be granted by the commander if you don't have the gold. Obviously, being a high scoring players will often get you preferential treatment but as each side economy expands and the war escalates more people will get the rubber stamp. Aside from commanders there are squad officers who are stronger and buff their squad and issue orders. Gold can also be "donated" back to the commander and the late game units are called hellbornes which require a special structure be built in a specific exposed location of the map, player can trade "souls" from kill to spawn as a hellspawn unit. Originally the game had a super unit that had to be assemble with a boatload of gold and souls but the game devolve into both side building him and everyone just healing him up and its not as fun as it sounds.
    The game suffer from a lack of people wanting to play as the commander, quality issue related to that, unbalanced matchmaking, a lack of player count, etc. Savage was a niche game at best and while cool on paper obviously suffer as a result of extreme unbalance in terms of player quality, quantity, and certain aspect important aspect being uninteresting. You pretty much do just end up spamming the game hoping everything align and when it does its actually quite glorious. But:
    -Being a RTS commander is optional and most people want to play on the ground. Unlike in a normal RTS where that not a choice.
    -Its like a sport but lacks the interest, resource, and structure to form "teams"
    -Unlike a game like battlefield which has less moving parts there are less game that "translate" well into Savage.
    -Its basically mostly a FPS but with weak RTS elements and unlikely to attract either audiences.

    Out of all the things that can (rightfully) be complained about in CoH 3 I find "there are different smoke colors for offmaps" a really REALLY silly thing. There has always been GREEN (smoke and recon) and RED (anything that does damage). The concept has just been expanded.
