Brilliant pattern concept and presentation! Literally one piece with top of head curved plus count by total rows. Simplist stitch in knit mode. Genius. Would love to see more clothings made in same method, if you could manage it. GOOD ONE!
@@KenikseCrochet Read some other comments, found the measurements, good! Am going to use dainty white baby yarn with thicker grey mottled acrylic as "fur edging"..... Yea, I know, I tend to creatively complicate myself following patterns but yours is complicated proof. You have my loyalty.....
Amazing tutorial! Its just perfect, do you think you could provide the measurements? Id love to try this but with a different weight yarn and hook size TIA
Hi! Do you know the approximate measurements for it by the end of row 26? I'm using a lot thicker yarn and just realised I might be making a bit too big lol
@francesolssonmckinnon1134 Hey Frances I hope you don't mind me asking, but how did yours turn out? I used similar yarn to the video first go and it didn't even fit my cat...it was insanely small. Weeks of work wasted (I'm a slow crocheter 😅) did this work for you with thicker yarn? I grabbed a wool, but I'm considering just going for a totally different pattern since this didn't work out for me before. So curious as to how it went for you!
@@darkwebgirl hey! It ended up huge haha, but I believe I actually used double crochet instead of single and just guesstimated the row count. I added a drawstring to front, which made it a bit more usable. It did work, but I would maybe stick with the single crochet the next time? I would give you more tips but I'm still a beginner so I don't really know what I did half the time haha🫣 Good luck to you!
@@Hannah-wl2lrThought so, just wouldn’t know when to put it in, I haven’t crocheted round something before. I guess it’s going to be a lot of trial and error lol
its a good tutorial but worth mentioning that one should crochet it quite tightly otherwise there going to be a hole on the second decrease on the row 44. halfway through the process and you cant fix it :((((
Hi, I'm following the tutorial but I'm stuck because I don't understand a step. On row 44 after the first decrease on the left row I have 25 stitches. To be equal at the end in the second decrease do I have to skip one?
Does anyone have an issue with ending the row 67 on an odd amount of stitches left? I should have Two left to do the decrease I think but keep ending up with 1? Also this time when I have made the balaclava and go to join it together the join is i. A different place than my first one I made. Any ideas why? 🤔
im trying this right now and my work is turning out so gappy and holey, while yours is solid and plush...is it my yarn, or am I doing something wrong? Using Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton 4 with a 5mm hook. did I not choose worsted or dk, is that the issue? please help! :(
Im a new crocheter and i realized mid project that maybe my tension was wrong and its not the same length at the bottom of the balaclava and the middle is a little more to the left after joining the two sides together how can i fix this for the next time i do it?
Thanks so much for sharing! I’m working on mine now, I’m wondering how many hours (approximately) did it take you to finish. I might just be a slow crocheter but it takes me 4-6 mins to crochet a 50 single crochet row and I think that should add up to 456 hours that it’s taking me to make this. Just sharing (not comparing) with peace and love - Ray 💛🧸🌞
@90210lovelyme you shocked me so much with those 400 hours I almost decided not to continue my balaclava since i'm not much faster than you either. But then i was like "wait a minute..." 😂
Thank you so much for the video! I'm following everything But i think I missed something, my pattern (not sure of the term, I'm a beginner) is slanted, as I progress the rows seem to be getting shorter, should I continue or redo everything?
I know may be late but i think you left out the last or the first stitch in each row. Those are a bit smaller so you got to be really careful not to skip them. Happened to me before. Hope this helped💕
I love this tutorial but so far mine is HUGE. Im using medium weight yarn with a 5.5mm hook and its half way done im on row 44 and its huge. My stitches arent big either. I got the numbers right.
Did you finish, and how did it turn out? I went first go with similar yarn to the video...#4 cotton. It was too small to even fit my cat. I didn't expect that at all. I'm going back in with chunky wool today - do you think it'll be too big, or just right if my go with similar yarn to the video wasn't even half the size of the one she's working up?
unfortunately it was MUCH too big - I had to open it again because I couldn't wear it like that. Centimeters instead of stitches would have been better
love love love this tutorial so much :) already created two balaclavas with your video, thank you so much for your effort!

Hey I have a kinda big head lol do you think it'll fit big heads 😭🙏🏻
@bye5212 it's stretchy so should be fine, worst case scenario just unravel + redo with more rows + more length
The first crochet i did, it turned out great♡
Thank you. Beautiful clear tutorial!

I really like the patern so pretty, can you put a drawstring in the ribbing to adjust the size around the face?
I think you could, you would just need to wave it in around
@@KenikseCrochetat what point would you put it in?
@@ceryswatkins1720 i would imagine the cinching would be best put through the final ribbing around the face opening

You can always sew it with a bit of yarn 🫶
I do this by accident all the time! I use leftover yarn to sew it closed!

😊 I really enjoyed the tutorial. I got confused at the second top side attachment and the rows. I missed something. 😮.
If you could send me picture on IG, I’ll be able to help!

Hello may I ask if you said BLO also for row 27? I wanted to make sure since i didn't see it
Can this one go over ski goggles or is it too small? Thank you
are the ribbing decreases back loop only at the end? or is it different to the rest and both loops?
Do decrease for the ribbing as normal, as there are no loops at all when you attach your ribbing into main panel
you can use my 5mm hook and the yarn is also thick, I should knit it exactly like this or how?
If you use thicker yarn and bigger hook yours will turn out way bigger so you would need to make less rows and alter it to fit

I would suggest counting stitches or using stitch markers to make sure you don’t skip any 🫶
Do I need to increase in the corner from row 29 to 40?
There is no need to do decreases, just continue making sc in a shape of L
where does the stitch marker go in row 42?
Into last sc before you do decrease, so thank you know where to start your sc for next row

at 3:18 how much measures the rectangle ? i try it with a different size of yarn so i’m kinda lost

Hi :) could you tell me what is the length of this balaclava in cm ? Thanx 😊
i wanna make the head part a little bit broader not as tight it is what shoukd i do
More rows so that you have more to decrease into.
