Happy Sunday! Great review of Brick and spoon. Both plates looks so good and filling but definitely go with Bobbies choice. I was surprised John with all your shrimp in your Mac and cheese. Glad you both enjoyed your meals. Have a blessed day guys❤
Happy Sunday. They did give John a nice helping of shrimp in his mac and cheese. This was our first time eating here. Every time we go by this place, it is always so busy. I'm glad we got to try it this time. Thanks for watching.😎😎
You are welcome. Both meals were very good. Expect too much pepper in the grits. We enjoyed sitting outside . It was a beautiful day. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
"Tasso" - Never heard of that, and I love all kinds of meat. I'll have to look for that. I always learn something new from you two! Have a blessed Sunday Guys! 💜
Hi. I am new to your channel, and I love all the places that you go and tell us about it. You are nice, friendly people, and that makes listening and watching the channel even more pleasant. Thanks. I am going to Gatlinburg sometime next year for the first time. I am loving the videos on this area from you. Have a great evening.
Hello. We are glad you enjoy our channel. We appreciate the nice compliment. There is so much to do in this area. Thank you for subscribing and watching. 😎😎
I see you have a pink crepe myrtle tree blooming behind you. They usually bloom in August. Back in the 1970s when my parents took us as kids to Williamsburg Virginia and Busch Gardens the old country she bought at a garden stand along the road a small crepe myrtle Tree in that same pink color. I trimmed it for her every single year and it lived for around 25 years, until one year there was an extremely cold winter and it died and she was so heartbroken. It was one of the thing she loved most. 🙏🏻
@@jbinthehills There are thousands of them in Myrtle Beach South Carolina and you also see a lot of them in Florida and you also do see them in Virginia closer to the coast, and in Williamsburg Virginia and the old country park. They like warmer regions they don't like real cold areas. They come in light pink and dark pink, white, pastel yellow, orange, red and lavender.
I lived in Slidell, LA. (just outside NOLA) & never had a beignet that was like a pastry. They should be soft & puffy like a donut. Make sure & try the real thing if you ever get to NOLA. Love your videos.
The "Cafe du Mond" in NOLA is THE place to go if you guys ever go there. But, in the meantime, while your in Tennessee or Georgia or thereabouts, look in the grocery stores, like Ingells or Publics etc for the Cafe' du mond beignet MIX in a box and make your own. They will be way better than those you have tried there. I know you like to cook. The box is yellow. Another great video thanks you guys. ❤
Hi John and .Bobbie. I would get both of those meals and the beignets looked so tasty. I’ve never tried grits before but I would try it if it was offered to me or found it on a menu here but I have never seen it anywhere. The weather and location there was perfect to eat outside.❤️
i want to say thank you for this channel!! For someone who has celiac disease , i feel like I'm kinda dining out with you guys since I cannot dine out that often due to dietary restrictions!! I would love if you guys can do a few segments of some good gluten free restaurants on the east coast. Id really appreciate it!! :)) THANKS again for this channel!!! Have a wonderful day!!
We are glad you enjoy our channel. We appreciate you watching. I do not know of any restaurants that are particularly just gluten free. But if I see anything on the menu that is gluten-free, I will try it.😎😎
Thanks for the review . Ive been wanting to go there but haven't gotten there yet. I will definitely make that a stop on my next trip to pigeon forge in 2 weeks. Keep up the good work. Really enjoy your videos.
You are welcome. John and I have tried several times to do a review here. But they are always so busy. We enjoyed sitting outside it was such a beautiful day. Remember they close at 2 o'clock in the afternoon . Have a good time in Pigeon Forge in a few weeks. We appreciate you watching and commenting. 😎😎
Oh my goodness The Brick and Spoon! Lots of delicious choices! John and Bobbie Bobbie your Chicken Benedict was so good!! The poached egg, spinach. The grits have to have cheese for me I like the black pepper but not much. John the Shrimp Tasso Mac- n-cheese I would get. I like Gouda cheese plus ALL THE SHRIMP!!! True The Beignets should be fried crispy not a pastry but I'm sure they were good!!!
Everything was very good. The grits would have been perfect if they didn't use so much pepper. This was the first time we tried beignets. They were good, but we both like fried dough better.😎😎
I'm not a huge breakfast fan, but I'd go directly to the cheesy grits, yum, we don't get a lot of them out here in California. My husband and I went out to breakfast today, he had a lox benedict and I had a cold turkey sandwich with a side salad. I would love the beignets as well, I've never heard of strawberry marmalade, but yum. Thanks for sharing.
Between the comments my cousin Vanara made about Pigeon Forge and your videos, I finally decided to overnight there on my way back from California in August. Although it's more for couples and families, instead of singles like me, I was impressed. Went to Calhoun's for supper. Had the "Ale Steak". Recommended! God Bless...
Never had grits but they look really good. I imagine they're similar to polenta. Staple in my house with a beautiful pork ragu. Eggs Benny is my go to for breakfast at a restaurant. PS. Bobbie..that ring is gorgeous!!! You always sport very lovely jewelry.
Grits are boiled cornmeal. They are very good with cheese. I think they had too much pepper for me. Thank you for the nice compliment. I love costume jewelry. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
Nice place with a nice little spot to sit and eat outside. I would have definitely went for the chicken Florentine eggs benedict. Eggs benedict was invented at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. I would have definitely went for the bananas foster which was invented in New Orleans Louisiana. Not a big grits fan or a big mac and cheese fan. I'm very lucky I don't crave foods high in carbs. Great job as always! 👍🏻👍🏻❤🇺🇸🌹🙏🏻
Thanks for the video! I am not a pepper person so I would have asked (if I knew in advance) for less pepper (if possible) in the grits. I love me some cheesy grits! hehe Did they have different marmalade flavors? I am partial to orange marmalade because of my dad. I am wondering if a darker berry marmalade would have been better than strawberry?
The grits would have been perfect without the pepper. The waiter offered to get me potatoes since there was too much pepper in the grits. But the egg benedict was plenty. They only had the strawberry mamalade. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
We have a Brick & Spoon in Orange Beach, AL. and I finally tried it last month...I got the Avocado Toast and the Killer Creole Omelet...both were fantastic! Usually, when I'm out at breakfast time, I just grab a Wendy's Breakfast Baconator, so the Brick & Spoon was a major upgrade! 😁👍
I would have a hard time choosing between the crab cake and the chicken florentine benny! The grown up grilled cheese sounded like it would be awesome too!
Hey John and Bobbie! Great Brick and Spoon review. The food looked tasty. Those beignets (yeast leavened dough) look more like sopapillas (baking soda leavened). Or they may have used expired yeast or killed the yeast.
It is a national park. Supposedly, you are not allowed to film in them. There may be some restaurants in that area we could try out. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
I've never heard of Beignets not being fried and of course I'm from the New Orleans metro area. I looked this restaurant up and I see it's from Lafayette so maybe in southwest Louisiana that's how they cook them. I've never eaten them out that way before.
The food looks ok, but just doesn’t seem like my kind of place. Still though, a great video! But that sweater you’re wearing Bobbie, I love it ! Kinda gives me that Dolly Parton “Coat of Many Colors” vibe! 😍
