The Krita Iceberg: 99% of features that took a team of software developers and design specilists -probably- years to implement 1% the pencil that I use because pencil looks like a pencil and I use to draw happy sun with sunglasses and very dissapointing stick figures doing kung fu
Thank you for your videos. Your channels is a very complete guide about how to draw in Krita. I have drawn in almost all drawing programs, and i love Krita, it is the most friendly and customizable. Thank you for what you are doing
04:20 there is an option to delete data outside canvas on saved file, so when you close and then open file - it opens cropped with deleted parts outside canvas. Settings > General > File Handling > ☑Trim files before saving But most of the times it is better to have original-sized layers to be able to edit them later like in Photoshop, and it has some nuances\bugs, like: it does not affect objects on vector layers, so they just stay original-sized all the time outside, also if on Layer was applied Transformation Mask - it would cutout original layer and apply transformation mask, making that layer look weird, so by default this option is just turned OFF🤓
@@JustCallMeInsane I think something similar is going on with dockers, they turned off to not cause trouble before any file is even opened\created. Comics\manga manager options could be (hopefully) added later, somewhere on this new start screen maybe? :3c
Yea, It might be. I can't tell if its a bug or just because it's not fully implemented. XD I really need it though so I just went back to the stable release. It's easier to use when the docker is open before opening a file.
You can set a keyboard shortcut for Comic Manager. I do it through a plugin which I think is called Docker under cursor, which makes it super convenient as that docker will show up below the cursor.
My issue is it needs to be available by default, not just when a file is opened. This wasnt a thing in the previous version, just 5.2, so a plugin doesnt make sense. Theyll probably change this in the next update.
@@JustCallMeInsane Yeah that's understandable. I think there is an issue created for this on their repository. I wasn't affected by this because I was using the shortcut & the plugin before this change was implemented. I hope in 5,3 we can have an option to show dockers on the startup. Ofc the best thing would be to implement the functionality of comic manager directly into Krita because I find it very useful but we have to be realistic here as that would take some real long time, at least it's in their plan. Oh & btw the text tool implementation has started, it's in early stage(not for long i imagine) but you can check it in 5.3 nightly release.
Seems very nice. Still awaiting for that advanced text tool. It's still kinda useless for me, so anytime i have to add text, transform it or play with it, I'd rather switch to inkscape.

The pencil will remain unmatched no matter how much I love krita LOL
The comic manager issue is known, It will probably be improved in future versions
Yay!
WOO WOO! Another video from the Krita queen. Thanks for keeping us updated on upcoming releases.
You're welcome!

Now that they have the new update you can show us how to warp text! Good video. Some nice new features. Thanks.
It's not available yet, it's in the code but I am not familiar enough to use the code to make it work 😂

Correct - I went over that long ago in another tutorial so I didn't think to bring it up again XD

@@yukanguis After the bugs I'm dealing with in 5.2, I'm not sure I'm ready to test a nightly build XD
very much looking foreword to the color ring and especially the layer update since i make way too many layers and it gets confusing fast
Same LOL
I switched back to the most recent stable release and I'm like 'dangit, I need that layer update'. 😂
I couldn't find the undo button?
settings -> toolbars shown -> the middle one that's missing text.
it's sadly a bug in 5.2 :(
@@JustCallMeInsane yeah less smooth right 😑
@@monelthangjam7735 sadly yea 😭😭😭
@@JustCallMeInsane I have another question. How do you solve about jaggering line in Krita? Whenever I zoom in, gosh it was terrifying
@@monelthangjam7735 you can turn on smoothing in the tool options when the brush is activated

It is on the way at least! I'm hoping newer builds they release after 5.2 will have the UI available to use and test. :)
