Thank you! It is so refreshing to see someone not forcing the full coverage base makeup. Everyone should see this :). I struggle with a hormonal acne plus rossacea, but I also have very oily skin, that breaks up makeup in few hours. So I just do not bother to cover everything up and, as you said, just try make things less noticable :)
This product made me LOVE my acne and acne scars, to embrace them. I don't even wear it as a foundation anymore. I only wear it to cover my dark circles. Its looks so natural and beautiful I'm obsessed and wont be going back to any liquid foundation/concealer anytime soon.
I’m a BareMinerals junkie, as a skincare and makeup professional I can’t tell you how underrated the BareMinerals loose powder is!! Also, not sure if you’ve tried the BarePro Pressed powder by BareMinerals, but that is MY HOLY GRAIL. I use their complexion rescue tinted moisturizer under it and then go over it with my pressed powder using their core coverage brush and BAM MY skin is flawless and full coverage for 12+ hours! ✨
I struggle with postmenopausal acne and have used bareMinerals for over 14 years, love everything about it, your video was great. You need to try the bisque concealer, I put that over my redness and blemishes prior to buffing in the foundation and it’s an amazing difference to combine the two
Hi Sally! this was helpful. I've been trying to go lighter on the base products. So thanks so much. I also have a tip for acne: If you use a concealer that is the same shade as your regular skin tone, it will hide them better than if you use the same lighter concealer you use under your eyes. because if you use the concealer two shades lighter than your skin tone it will bring your acne forward. I meant to say this in your wedding makeup tutorial, but I didn't know if you would see it. I hope this helps!
thanks for sharing! I finally bought a darker concealer recently and have been using it on my cheeks :D It is on my face in the video going up tomorrow!
I just gave you advice honey, first you must use powder puff to take your powder to the your wet skin face, i mean prep your skin with hydarting moisturizer first, and then wait until two minutes, so you can swirl the residu of your powder with kabuki brush, you can get higher cover...! I am already try that way, and that's pretty work on me... Thank's...!!!
Hi, thank you for making this video! I developed rosacea over the past year and I've had to change up my makeup routine after using the same foundation for years. I'm considering Bareminerals and it was super helpful to find a back-to-basics type video, as someone with little makeup experience. Hope you're doing well!
Oh my goodness - your video is exactly what I needed. I’ve also been oily but starting with Tret has kinda made my skin confused lol. I love how articulate you are too. Thank you for this! Instantly subscribed! 💙
I used bareminerals for a long time in my 20s and I had horrible cystic acne for a short period of time but the scars are still there....kind of. The color is gone but I still have those little indents and make up can’t help too much butttt I do find flower beauty light illusion perfecting powder blurs my skin so well you can’t see the irregular texture. I also wear bare minerals a lot too. It is so illuminating and light reflecting that my scars don’t look as obvious. And you avoid that awful cake face look too. 😻
Thank you for this. It was very helpful. I've had BM matte forever but am so impatient, so I usually go for my It Cosmetics CC cream. But now with the pandemic and everything, I'm opting for more natural coverage. I will definitely try these tips of the thin layers and some setting spray! Also, have you tried the BM concealer in Summer Bisque? It's amazing!!!
Girl, put away those pimple patches! Try either Kate Somerville or Mario Badescu Drying lotion. The product works great for spot treatments. I also use a topical retinoid at night so I wear the drying lotion at night for a few hours before it's bedtime and the retinoid goes on. Thanks for the video!
Thank you, Sally! I was thinking of returning to BM, so I tuned in, but just curious, no mineral veil/finishing powder? This was very helpful. Take care,
So tried bm original and can't use due to ingredient in in causing acne for me. I want to try matte as it doesn't have the bismuth in it. I border on more dry. Do you think matte can still work if prepped well? I did love how original gave a healthy sheen to the skin.
Hi dear always use aloe vera gel to wash your face and after washing wipe your face and apply aloe vera gel. If you don't use make up and use only Aloe Vera gel u gonna see nice results. And make sure you are using pure Aloe Vera gel

Yes I have accepted that I need to stop trying the impossible

Thank you for representing those of us with hyperpigmentation! I always come back to bare minerals and I watched your video for a refresher. ❤️

Thank you so much! You are beautiful and I so appreciate you sharing your techniques!
I just picked up the matte version and can’t wait to try!! Your video was super helpful :)
I’m glad! Even with the matte, I get oily after a few hours but it not as fast as with the original
Love your energy!

I got the flower beauty light illusion powder to use on my undereyes because Andrea Matillano loved it!
@@drsallymanderchoi I got it because of her too!!! Haha
Thanks for posting this! It’s so helpful to know how well it covers before buying
Glad it was helpful!
loved this thank you ❤

I have used up multiple tubes of the it cosmetics cc cream! Now it just feels a little thicker than I would like
I havent tried any BM concealers
Could you talk about your journey with spironolactone? How long did you use it for? Did your acne come back after? Thanks!!

I agree with you, Sally! The matte is better for oily skin. I like it way more than my original Bare Minerals for long wear days. 😉👍
Great tips! I like to color correct under my powder foundation so I don't have to build it up as much 💙
great tip, too! Sometimes I'll spot conceal under powder foundation in regular use outside this video when i'm demonstrating the product alone
@@drsallymanderchoi yes! Super helpful! 💙

Nice and even out your skin 👍🏻

I think so! The matte version is not even super matte, still has a little life in it
@@drsallymanderchoi ❤thank you
I’m sure this helps others
Do you use the Smashbox Primer Water as a primer and a setting spray?
I only use it as a setting spray
