Dearest Jenny, it is very healthy to Grieve. I saw a friend on your channel mentioning journaling. I do that and it helps so very much. ❤ I can say with all honesty in my heart, that the world is a better place with you in it. You are such a lovely lady. ❤ Very kind and gentle. I have an Ileostomy, Urostomy, coming up to 13 years now. I empathise with your journey in my own way of understanding. I do know two different types of Ostomy. I did look after my Mum and her Colostomy and that was 15 years ago. It was too late for my Mum. I am so very grateful you are here, looking healthier than I remembered, dearest Jenny. (BIG GENTLE HUGS). You have a way about you Jenny Rice, that helps others not feel too sorry for themselves for too long. You are a remarkable lady. There is always that "Special Place" in my heart for you always. Love Deb from Aussie Land.❤❤
Aww, thank you for those kind words! I am sorry you've had to experience so much of life with two ostomies but it is what keeps us alive for longer, so I'm grateful you are still here, too. And how special of you to be able to help your mom. I am so happy I am able to help others whether going through this journey or just their own journey. Life is good! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! I believe your weather should be starting to warm up so that will be nice! 💜
First of all~Big hug to you 🤗 This is just a normal part of your personal journey. Anyone would feel this way and go through all of these feelings I would think. You've had QUITE a huge adjustment, and you are just normal and human to feel the way you feel. Talking about it is therapeutic and helps OTHERS too. Much love to you Jenny ❤❤❤❤❤❤ You are an awesome person!!!
Thank you, Susan! I do write some things down in a journal I have. And I do have a few family members and friends who are really good to talk to. I am grateful to have such a good support team! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!💜
Grieving what once was is hard. The roller coaster goes on. All you've been through has been rough. Reality sometimes has a way of hitting us in the face. The good news is down moments don't last forever, but you are right to feel them and talk about them. That makes it easier to let them go. Sending my love and prayers.
Thank you so much, Diane! Yes, life is a roller coaster ride. I'm happy I am able to feel my feelings, work through them and then move on. I hope you have a fabulous weekend! 💜
Hello, Jenny! Grieving is fine, and definitely a very helpful part of moving on. Despite the challenges of life, many beautiful moments also shine through. Hope you have a very blessed weekend!
Aww, thank you! Yes, when I think back on it all I realize how much I've actually gone through. It's been quite the journey. Life is good! Have a fabulous weekend! 💜
Your video is understandable for all you went thru. Spoken with your heart. You are so correct, life is a journey, and we walk that road every day, and sometimes we don't know what is around the corner. Jenny, you are phenomenal, such honesty about your health journey. I am grateful you are doing well....look how far you have come. ❤ Sending you hugs, my friend. ❤
@jenny_rice I wish we lived close....I feel we would be friends in an instant!! 💗 We could talk about our journeys with our surgeries....as well as many other topics! Enjoy your Friday evening! It's all good, Jenny....praying every day....just because....🙏😊 Blessed!
Hugs Jenny 🤗. I can relate to what you are feeling. I was just thinking back to last Christmas and all the cookies I baked! Brought me to tears because I’m nowhere near ready to take on a task like that and it’s been almost 8 months since my surgery. I still have daily pain and painful numbness that just sends me to bed with a heating pad. Then dealing with this thyroid issue, I wonder if I’ll ever feel good again. Then I say my thanks for being alive, not having to endure chemo or radiation up to now and try to remind myself I do much more blessed than many 🙏🏻
Sandy, I know what fun it is to make lots of Christmas cookies. I have done that, too. I obviously took a break from that and everyone understood. Still feels different not being able to do that, though. I'm sorry you're still in pain and have painful numbness. I am grateful I just had numbness without the pain. I hope your heating pad helps. I guess you just need to listen to your body and give it the rest it needs so it can continue to heal quickly. Sending continued prayers that you get some answers on your thyroid. 💜🙏
Yes, I have many up and down days. I agree that everyone does whether they’ve had surgery or not. We may be a bit more vulnerable. I’m just a bit disheartened as I’ve been having leaks under the flange (wafer) which I’ve never experienced before and it’s tough as I’m changing everything sometimes everyday . I’m working with an wound ostomy nurse and I’m hoping she can get me on the right track. She’s very nice. I certainly can understand you can look at pics of how your abdomen used to be and kinda feel sad as it is different now. When I start feeling down I just remind myself that ok, this happened I wouldn’t have chosen this however it’s keeping me alive. I can understand where you’re coming from Jenny. I initially had a colostomy and the colostomy was much easier to care for than the ileostomy but I do now have ileostomy. Some of my changes are easy some very challenging. 😟😟 you look great Jenny. Look forward to your next cooking/baking video. 😊
Thank you, Patricia! I'm sorry you are having leaks. It's wonderful that you are able to work with an ostomy nurse, though. Yeah, the ostomy itself isn't too bad, but when there are problems it's just frustrating. I hope you find a solution quickly! 🙏And I will have a cooking video up next week. I actually made one this week and then as I was uploading the footage onto my computer I saw that I had already filmed this one!! (Snicker's Baked Oatmeal) I was surprised I didn't remember making it already! 😂 In any case, I've had a delicious breakfast these last few days! 😄
