Gotta give William Byron props for the absolute POG answer he gave when asked if he was happy about being given the final spot. No one should ever be happy to advance at the expense of someone else in that sort of situation. And before anyone jumps on me about "He shouldn't be in the Final Four either because race manipulation!" - I'm not talking about that. I'm simply saying I think that was the best answer you could posibly give in that situation. No matter what, this was gonna be a controversial decision. But, that's what the Playoffs have done to this once great sport
Honestly it seems like Bell saved nascar from making a really difficult call by riding the wall- if he hadn’t then nascar would have probably had to consider DQing both cars
This was the first time that NASCAR has ever taken the time to decide the final 4 spot via race control that was stupid and embarrassing these playoffs are a joke and not needed

@@chelsm90 it's the situation too. These teams are doing whatever it takes in the win and you're in era. Someone's gonna get seriously hurt one day from a driver sending it like iracing because they have to get the win no matter what
@@chelsm90 But if you accidently slid into the wall, and with centrifugal force, how do you GET off the wall in such a sharp curve? In my opinion where he screwed up was smashing the gas. You finished 19th dude 😂 you’ve self spun 15x this year you didn’t deserve to be in the final 4 regardless lucky you made it this far better luck next year kid. Let’s go Willy B!
Pretty obvious that Bell wasn't trying to ride the wall. Dillion rode the wall down the straight. Bell was on the wall for a second got off it. I think it gets overturned.
I don't think Bell intended on riding the wall in the second part of the corner, but he did, which is illegal in Nascar...the two cars behind Byron "blocked" for the last 10 laps by running side by side, and that was totally intentional. If it's okay to do, more teams should take advantage of it in the future! I personally think that's totally wrong, it makes Nascar look more like the WWE lol In theory, you could get four team mates together and block the track by running side by side, and slowing the race. I would have disqualified Byron, the 1 and the 3 car. for intentionally manipulating the outcome ...and Bell too. That would have been the right call.
Riding the wall has to do with advancing your position NOT after you passed the guy already. Bell should not have tried to get in front of Byron AFTER he passed him and then he probably wouldnt have hit the wall.
Bell didn't even have to step on the gas when he was in the wall... if he hadn't stepped on the pedal it would have been a completely different situation...
NASCAR you are at best a sick joke with your officiating. The manipulation of the race by Chevy teams HMS,Trackhouse and RCR is a complete disgrace to racing. The half hour that it took for NASCAR to make a call is probably the amount of time it took HMS to make a deposit in NASCAR's bank account. Ross is one of my favorite drivers but after "the deal", I have lost respect for him as well. And to be clear I haven't had respect for RCR after Harvick left and the HMS teams, were never ones that I would support. Chevy is a disgrace to what they used to be. So the manipulation of the finish of the race all three team should be parked for the final race. All three were guilty and NASCAR is just as guilty with their foolish call. It was obviously planned out. After all the radio transmission referred to it as "the deal." And if NASCAR lets their call stand then the are just as guilty as the other three organizations that manipulate the finish. Which would NOT be a surprise at all. On the other side was Christopher Bell and Bubba Wallace. I don't know if the 23 really had a tire going down or not but that wouldn't have been hard to check. I mean NASCAR has their noses in everything else so there is no reason they couldn't have gone over to the 23 and checked the tire pressures. And as far as Bell hitting the wall, in my mind wasn't the same thing Ross did. Yes he did hit the wall, and he did ride the wall a short distance but it wasn't a Ross wall ride. If the 23 didn't have a tire going down then that manipulation is no better than the HMS, RCR and Trackhouse's manipulation. If all parties are guilty then all parties should be parked for the final race and a 100 points penalty per car per team to start next year, instead of NASCAR letting this act of manipulation go or give HMS the spot in the final four. No other driver should be added and it would be the final three. It is sad that this has happened again in NASCAR and to be honest it is NASCAR's fault. If you park all those who are guilty the next race and dock them 100 to start next year plus if they win a race, their first win would not be counted either just as the 3's win didn't count towards the Championship run this year a Richmond then this kind of manipulation would probably not be a problem. In the end a great race was overshadowed by controversy again and it was the fans who lost out. Blessings to our great Country and to all of the awesome race fans. Take care and may GOD bless 🙏✝️🙏
Even if there was manipulation to get the 24 in I still think that bell should’ve gotten in as unlike Chastain when he intentionally did the wall ride bell got loose going into the wall and couldn’t turn down in time before accelerating as he would’ve lost enough positions to lose the final transfer spot
This is the reason the points system was a joke. Kyle Larson had the season locked and doesn't get the championship.. then you got people letting their teammates slide into the next 4 even though their back in 19th vs 6th.. it's all trash
