Hello Joen & Amalie. I’ve just come across your TH-cam channel 3 days ago and have been binge watching your StayClassyVlogs ever since. I appreciate the great video/audio editing I’ve been seeing thus far... It’s really good ! I also enjoy the chemistry you both have together, and the fact that you both come across as real people & not two TH-camr’s ‘putting on a show’. I appreciate the realism & enjoyment that you both portray. Your enjoyment of life, of your surroundings and of each other, does come across on camera. What initially drew me in to watching your videos (for 3 days straight & counting), is for sure the many beautiful locations you’ve gone to, but mostly.... as someone who also came from a different country and settled in Portugal (fellow Expat).... watching the pure joy on both of your faces as you discover new location, speak to the friendly locals and encounter the varied & delicious Portuguese cuisine, brings back many similar emotions & feelings I experienced the moment I set foot there in 1982. I too had many wonderful experiences and enjoyed the richness of the many historic sites. I was born in British Columbia Canada, moved to Portugal when I was 14, then moved back to Canada at the age of 20. The reason I even bring that up is because of the city I spent my teen years in. It’s just North of Lisbon (20 minutes on express highway) & is called Torres Vedras. I haven’t ‘yet’ seen you two travel there, but I thought I could quickly let you know about it’s quite ‘unknown’ (to most, with the exception of the locals) historic past. Within the city are two forts & a church within it’s old castle walls. The relevance of these historic sites is that, back in the early 19th century, they were used to defend Portugal from Napoleons naval/military forces that came ashore just West of Torres Vedras. It is said that Napoleon’s forces came ashore somewhere around a close by, and well known, beach called Santa Cruz. There is a well known land mark just off shore of Santa Cruz beach, in the Atlantic, called Penedo do Guincho. Two other things Torres Vedras is quite known for is it’s night club, which was built within and old clay shingle factory, called O Tunel, and (without a doubt) it’s yearly, week long Carnival. If for nothing else, you both must experience and Vlog the atmosphere surrounding their Carnival. It’s Crazy in a good way. I’ve taken up much of your time already, so I’ll wish you both well and.... I visited Torres Vedras 2 weeks ago and will do it again in September again. It's not so far from Lisbon. I love the way by train (linha do oeste) when in the morning the sun starts to bright behind the fog !
