      100%. She was one of a good 4-5 channels on TH-cam that helped me in my couple hundred hours of research before getting my Baby Boy. My Husbandry wouldn't be anywhere near as good without her specifically. She's the best one I've listened to.
      My boy had two normals as Parents, and he's a Super Giant. 11 3/4'' long, and 129grams last time I weighed him.
      Healthy, no rolls, and no armpit bubbles. Just a good o'le big boy!

    My geck was a class pet before I got him, so unfortunately he came to me with two years' worth of bits of skin stuck to his toes. Even though he's given supplements and has a humid hide now, he still tends to leave a bit on the toes every time!
    Oddly enough, I've never missed a shed since I've gotten him. For whatever reason, he always sheds in the middle of the day! Anyway, this channel has been SO helpful to me. Thank you! :)

      @@leopardgeckotalk That's just it! You always see the crazy horrible way-past-too-late-to-help sort of things instead of the early stages and maybe a few past that that lead to the really bad stuff. Seeing how it can look in different stages is so helpful in case you miss the first stage (hopefully one doesn't, but unfortunately it can). And I hadn't known that their skin may look different after having a weird shed (where you mentioned sometimes it takes 2-3 shed cycles to regulate/return to normal again). Seeing examples of that helps me/maybe others see that okay, this different thing happened but don't immediately panic--keep an eye on it and if your gecko hasn't sorted itself out within a shed or two, take it to a vet. (Or earlier if there are behavioural changes, for example.) Thank you so much for the 'real world' examples!

    Thank you for making these videos!!! My birthday is right around the corner and i was thinking about fish. Then i saw geckos and spent about 20-25 minutes looking at the geckos and an hour just talking about feeding, the cage etc. I came out of the shop and my mum said to do some research. I instantly thought of what things to search. My first one was "how do i feed my leopard gecko" and then putting it into a playlist. When i found your channel about a couple hours ago from when im writing this, i thought, why not give it a go. A couple hours later, educated more than i was before about geckos, and happy to know that i can do this. Thank you again for making this channel otherwise i would literally spend days finding and looking at websites 😂😂😂😅😅😅

  • @Skylamander522

    My leo isn’t the best at shedding and tends to get it stuck on her toes a lot. The issue is that she isn’t really handleable (due to personality I have tried) and she hates me touching her feet. It is almost impossible to get all of it off because she will not sit still and she will tuck her feet beneath her so I can’t get to them and it’s just a pain. Because of this she has quite a few missing toes

    • @Skylamander522
      @Skylamander522 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And the poor shed for her are often due to the fact she likes to go off of food. She has been refusing to eat for over a month now. I have checked temps and environment, it’s all perfect, she just tends to do this (every spring she goes off food)

    Our little one is shedding right now since the first time we got him, 6/6/23, he was shedding then. We didn’t handle him for a week, letting him get used to his new home.
    My question is, how soon after he sheds can we handle him? He/she is a juvenile.
    FYI, his humid cave hide has moss.
    10 minute later update, he has shed it all. Does it normally go that quick? 30-90 minutes?

    Guys please help I don’t know what to do I just got the gecko as a recuse my friend wasn’t able to take care of it and as soon as I got it I started buying stuff for a big tank bc the tank it’s in now is small and he shed 2 times within the same month and at the 2nd shed it stopped moving completely and just started flipping its self on its back I helped it get most the loose shed off and it started moving little by little but it still isn’t moving much and I’ve spent a lot buying and getting stuff for the bigger tank so I don’t have a lot for a vet right now I’m going to get it check up but I won’t be able to do anything else does anyone know what’s happend or anything to make it better I’ve done research but I can’t find anything explaining what it’s going through right now and I’m scared and I just want it to be okay

    hello! this might be off-topic but i want to ask something.
    my leopard gecko (1 year old, got him 4 months ago) stopped eating. But he would look very interested in the food i give him, but when he eats it, he spits it out. He isn’t shedding. Before this i went on an 1 week vacation, so he was off food for 7 days (before the vacation i gave him 5 crickets). This behavior just started 3 days ago, but i’m rlly worried since he LOVES food. Does anyone knows what is wrong here? thanks!

      plus, when i give him a dusted superworm, he inspects it, lick off the calcium, and completely ignores it. i’ve never seen him doing that.
