This was our first time going. We were pleasantly surprised at the level of orchids and varieties. The place felt huge even though it was not. The vendors overloaded for this show. Definitely a great show of orchids and supplies. Those cones are great. I did not purchase a thing. I’m saving it all for Apopka. It’s my birthday weekend that same weekend of festivities. I’m looking forward to it!🎉🥂🤩

Well I’m sorry to disappoint. I held back. I’ve been going to allot of shows and spending a whole lot at each. I have to be smart and only shop in selected shows. I’m saving for the big Apopka show in April. It’s my birthday so it will be a big celebration month. I can’t wait to film those episodes. 🎉🎉🎉

I did not get a thing. I’m saving myself for the big show in April at Krull Smith. It gets very expensive buying at all these shows. Plus the trips there are close to 2 hour drive which also cost money. When you add up all the shows running, it gets very expensive. I’m shopping frugal now. 😬

My personal experience is that west coast...California and Hawai'i and in Australia... say no-bil-lay whereas on the east coast they say no-bil-lee. Thank you Nelson (and Teresita) for another exciting and inspiring tour.
Wonderful video. So many gorgeous orchids. I hope one of you got the red oncidium from Spring Water. My goodness I was in overload just looking. Nelson are you and Teresita coming to the Stuart Orchid show first weekend in March? It’s about an hour further away from the Boca show.
Teresita got the the red Oncidium. It’s an amazing buy. She won with that one. I’m not sure about Stuart. I put allot of miles into my car daily. I have to be very selective to the shows I go outside of Miami. Plus gas prices are ridiculous. So as of now I’ll be visiting a couple shows in broward county and the Palm beaches. But not most of them. I wish I could do them all.
Thank you for sharing Green Barn in your video! I just received my first, of what I believe will be many, shipment from them. Their prices are amazing and their shipping was incredibly reasonable (cheap!!!)
No'bil-eh is objectively correct. Taxonomic names are Latin or pseudo-Latin. All those names ending in -e are pronounced -eh, if you want to stick with the original styling. English speakers really make a mess with those vowels... and not just in taxonomic names (yes even the AOS is guilty). But you as someone with latino roots can do better, if you choose to. Read names as if they were spanish, not english.
I’ve been saying that forever! Say it like you would in Spanish. I guess that’s an argument that will never be won. As someone that’s exposed to hundreds of orchids people, I hear all kinds of ways to say these names. Lol! One can go insane. 🤪
@@naturenel In the end what matters is communication. If you are surrounded by people who say it and expect to hear it said the english way, you just do the same. Sounds goofy to a global audience, but who cares? The rest of us only communicate with you in writing anyway. And language purists never win anyway, change happens no matter how much some of us kick and scream about it 🤣...
