    I didn’t realize how simple bass lines was.. but fit perfectly with the power of the song

    Wow that's a really beautiful bass

    Dave Lombardo had the toughest part this band. I don't even think South of heaven baselines are that hard either and I know Seasons in the abyss has easy basslines. I am not knocking Tom araya but it's good stuff to learn for beginners

      And Dave Lombardo was the most talented musician in the band

      The bass lines aren't complicated, but he had to do some busy vocals over all of this. I commend Tom for this work.

      Basslinesa re not complex on their own, they are fast and require precision but not complex at all. however, lay some vocals over them at the same time ... that is another whole story because the rythm suddently bcomes VERY complex and bass and vocals do not land on the same beat, keeping track of this without getting lost for one person can be quite the challenge! Also, the bassline had only one job, add the low end for Kerry' rythm guitar playing. Simple, effective, sounds great, no need for more complex or more at all. People, do not forget that the music was mostly written by Kerry King ... yet everyone says he's just a poser ... I never got that. May not be the greatest guitar player but most of the riffs and music were his, and Hanneman!

    Played it better than the actual bass track.

      Literally the dude has a better tone, and I can hear the other notes without all of them getting muddled with the other strings ringing.

    you play it better than Tom did on the album. Seriously his bass tracks on reign were the definition of sloppy

      @elansleazebaganno 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I've heard King or Hanneman was playing bass, and that that is the reason the bass playing is so shit on Reign in Blood.

      @@igorspie8241 exactly my point bro. Playing rhythm licks and singing at the same time is way harder but it looks effortless to them.

    My takeaway is that Tom really only required a bass with 1 string lol

    Tom araya's never been that great of a bass guitarist. His bass tracks are not that hard to play especially on this album. I enjoy the stuff he did on hell aWaits and show no mercy

      The bass sound is part of Slayer it has a rhythm that is coming for you.

      And Tom is chanting as well very power driven.

    • @maeschder
      @maeschder 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the basslines work for the songs they make, so what else is he supposed to do?
      How hard something is to play isnt the sing of a good songwriter, and i dont think Tom has trouble playing harder stuff skillwise either, he is a professional after all.
