    On what projects would you go for the 1/2?

    • @LucaMannFilms
      @LucaMannFilms 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Music videos for sure, ad films and for certain situations, where it supports the story telling ☺️
      1/8 I would use all the time, cause I like the slighty softer image.

      @ErisedMediaCo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I’d use 1/4. Doesn’t look overdone but you can actually notice it. I could barely notice the 1/8. If I needed less than 1/4, I think I’d just add some softening in post.

    It seems like it would be best to get multiple circular filter trays and keep them attached all the time. No prints that way

      Blank insert trays are $40. So yeah, I'd get them for each piece of glass.

    Amazing! Been considering getting the Tilta Mirage, but unsure whether to get the mist filters or not, but seeing this I've encountered a new dilemma and hoping someone here can help answer it, what's the difference between the black mist filter and pure mist filter from Vaxis? 🤔

    Love the videos, very informative and sensible. That being said, I can see that you definitely want to move into narrative filmmaking in the near feature. When do you think you'll make that jump? Wether it's a a short or feature. All things are possible, with passion and purpose.

      Does documentary count as narrative? 😅

    I prefer a 1/8th mist filter for stylized work. It adds a really nice texture and roll-off without being too noticeable. I'm using the PolarPro mist filter that's around 1/6 and sometimes I find it slightly too powerful

    • @damiencooper
      @damiencooper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. Everything above 1/8 has to serve a very specific purpose

    nice video. mistfilters are a bit overrated imho. often it just washes away beautiful details without adding much value. I use them very rarely and if then only for the shortest time needed and on 10-20% mist, otherwise the loss of detail is too much for my taste.
    keep them videos coming, I watch every single one.

      Depends. Too strong, I agree. I love the subtle 1/8 though. But I agree. I don’t use it for everything !

    What is the difference between the pure mist and the black mist filters? Vaxis makes both. I'm looking to get one but not sure what the difference is

    • @damiencooper
      @damiencooper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Pure mist affects the entire image more where as black mist leaves the darker areas alone and only affects the highlights

    Great review!! I was wondering how do you mix the 95mm filter with the VND on the tilta mirage?

    • @damiencooper
      @damiencooper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t. You can use the VND with rectangular ones though

  • @fabiobus7671
    @fabiobus7671 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, man. Good video. Thank you. Does the Tilta Mirage support a circular 95mm mist and a circular 95mm polarizer and the vnd wireless at the same time? Or I have to put rectangular filters on the front when I'm using not less than 3 filters?

    • @damiencooper
      @damiencooper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does not. You’d have to get the two filter add on but it vignettes on wide Angle lenses

      @@damiencooper the point is that, for example, I share your view of using a default pure mist 1\8 in every single take, also the vnd and often the polarizer too. They're three filters, and think if I need the fourth.
