    Keep up the good work Barrie.

    i still think vw still make the best cars, the tdi engine is still a bomb proof engine and super reliable and great mpg on every vw i,ve owned, cc, passat, golf and now another golf, so for me VW Fan, great cars and solidly built, like they say look after your car adn it will look after you.

      i agree the engine block is bombproof sadly VW suffer from the same problems as everyone else now, dpf's, injectors £300 each, egr valves, fuel pumps, door locks, electric window motors, etc, etc, etc

      Stuart Moran too much wiring and too many parts involved really to fit the manufacturers model, you can get aftermarket models which are brilliant but to be honest i would just use your phone through the bluetooth mounted on dash, or buy a £100 Tom Tom or Garmin

    Why do you hate stop/start so much mate?

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Well in my opinion it saves you very little in fuel cost but advances wear on your engine, starter motor, dual mass fly wheel, engine mountings, etc and brings major repair bills to the owner much sooner than a car without stop start, for instance a dual mass fly wheel replacement can cost £1000 and thats just on an ordinary car, and you can buy a lot of fuel for that, also a car that has done 5000 mile in traffic feels more worn out than a car thats done 300,000 on the motor way, we had one in the other day, starter sounded knackered, so did the ringer gear, and the engine was slapping about on the mountings like a fish out of water, a car with stop start becomes uneconomical to repair a hell of a lot sooner than one without (in my humble opinion) ps thanks for watching 😎

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Caligula Petrol engine compression 10 to 1, Diesel compression is 20 to 1 and the fuel is ignited by compression and not a spark, so the starter motor on a diesel engine has to use twice the force to restart the engine, hence every time it restarts you and your passengers virtually get thrown around the cabin

    • @toshlanark
      @toshlanark 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But you can disable stop start ! Saying that it's a pain cause it resets when you start the car again !

      small point but it would be remiss of me not to point out that perhaps you need to concentrate on your own channel before you start criticizing other peoples
