You obviously took a picture of KFC chicken instead of your own. And the title is just extra clickbait. I already knew this basic recipe. Nothing new here.
well, for starters KFC uses a lot of black pepper (more than what he uses) in their seasoning, along with a few more ingredients missing all together, there is parsley, and lemon pepper in it too that I know of. And they don't use liquid egg or milk, rather it's powdered and mixed into the flour. They also dip the plain chicken into water, then coat it. And, if you want to get really technical, they have special vacuum sealed fryers for their chicken, that give it that really soft texture. From a former KFC Employee.
+StretchyNipple He's a dumb shit for explaining how he use to make the chicken when he worked at KFC? Who knew giving a bit more inside information makes you a dumb shit.
+StretchyNipple ALSO... Extra crispy has one more step. Water the chicken.... throw it in the flower. put the chicken (with flour) back in the water and flour again. UGHH... hikeschool days, SHIT WAS MESSY

Hi Nicko. I've been following your recipes for some time now and if I may, I would like to suggest: if you fry your chicken straight with the batter, it will never work. You must pre-cook your chicken (50-75% through) with nothing added, just salt. You can do this using and oil pressure cooker (ideal), a regular pressure cooker or even in the oven at a low heat. Once you have pre-cooked your chicken, put it to one side and let it cool down.. Then you can dip it into your batter and spiced flour and you deep fry it.. For your egg wash, add 50% of milk and some sour cream Please try it out and let me know what you think.
So I started working at KFC recently. They literally don't even tell the employees what's in the recipe, we have these packets of seasonings that we mix in with the flour. Also, we have this weird powdered milk and egg that we mix in it too
+Turkeyrolls Yeah I used to work there too, and no they don't tell you what's in it, but you can look at it and see a lot of it, like the shit ton of pepper, and the green herbs, there's lemon pepper, and if you sample it, you can taste a lot of what you can't see XD
+Turkeyrolls Yes. The recipe is a guarded secret for more than 60 years!!! There are 4 packets to make the "original recipe",, that was done so nobody can get the exact mixture beforehand!
God theirs so much hate on this video, this guy deserves respect.. He's only trying to help. Me myself thought it was really and i enjoyed making the food and watching the video.
Not to be a dick but this is how you make Southern Fried Chicken. *Kentucky Fried Chicken is fried in a pressure cooker. It was the Colonel's secret to really moist fried chicken.....which was not much of a secret if you were from Kentucky.

oh honey you didn't make KFC you just made southern fried chicken that people in the U.S. southern states have been making for years - KFC has other spices added to it and that is why I stopped by to have a look to see what they are - guess I got to keep looking your chicken does look good
jmarylastone I've never came across a copycat recipe either that is even close to KFC's. It's just not going to happen. So we buy it occasionally, lol.
I would not fry the chicken first. You don't know if it has been cooked all the way through. Good tip is to BOIL the chicken first. By boiling it, you can be sure it will cook all the way through. Once you have boiled it, THEN fry it.
No, not burn, just boil the chicken, it is impossible to burn if if you boil it. Just make sure that you do not forget about it by letting the water evaporate. If the water becomes low, top it up. The chicken is then well cooked. Once it has been boiled, then fry it.
I got a secret if anybody will care for a more healthier and more juicy chicken. I learned this on my Culinary school 2 years ago. So whatever you do on the chicken let's say breaded like this , just let it brown in medium - high heat for around 5 mins both sides then continue cooking for 30-40 mins in the oven :) So there's better chance of having a juicy and not dried up chicks.
I'm a vegetarian, not anymore fuck that! I tried this gonna make bout 50 of them when my mates come over and some homemade McChicken burgers, cheers for the video Niko!
Not bad but you forgot 3 essentiel steps: 1/Cook the chicken a little before hand because as you can see, it was still pink on the inside 2/Celery powder, really adds to the KFC smell & flavor 3/Lemon pepper (normal pepper will do though). PS: I find double-dipping unnecessary
Nicko's Kitchen Nicko, there's people that disagree with your recipe, but I don't. There's just a couple of things that would make it perfect. I think if someone wants the exact recipe, it would include a quite a bit of black pepper. If you look closely at "real" KFC chicken, you can see little black dots of black pepper all over it. This is what gives it the "flair" but you also have to fry the chicken once, then dunk it again in the coating to build up the thickness of the skin and coating , then fry again. Cheers
THanks for this recipe guys! now I'm moving to Africa, I'm opening my own fried chicken franchise business... I'm gonna call it "The FMC" or "Fried Muddafucken Chicken" ... thank you again !! I'm gonna be a billionaire for sure. it's a win-win deal to sell fried chicken in Africa or Detroit.
10 minutes is a little too short for completely safe for thick pieces. The best way is to get yourself a digital meat thermometer (less than $10 at WalMart) and cook your chicken to 170°f internal temp at the thickest part of the meat without touching the bone.
Kevin Lau I was just saying they aren't alike like you said they were. If I remember correctly even the Popeyes batter is different from the KFC batter and the cooking techniques are also different. Popeyes is soaked for like 12 hours before frying.
Will Pickles Actually no I was referring to the video, why would I describe myself as that, I hate pickles but I wouldn't have said that I hated you... wouldn't that be ignorant of me?! .
Definitely want to try this recipe, I love the fact that its no special cups involved with seasoning in it, a tsp of this a tbsp of that, and all of a sudden I'm not interested. Just pour some seasoning less or more. Great job for being down to Earth and not with all the extra specifications!
do you think those powders only have the ingredient on the bottle in, they have a lot of the other ingredients in to give the powder a more "authentic" taste and are the ones used in the original recipe.
How to do it To make the Mix: -plain flour -salt -pepper -garlic powder -onion powder -paprika powder 1 egg Some Milk Mix egg and Milk Chicken Put chicken in egg wash Put in flower Coat it fully Put it back in egg wash Back in flower Fry them Turn heat off Dry them on paper towel
Some people don't read descriptions.... "This recipe has been modified and is NOT the KFC recipe, it has been modified for legal reasons but the taste will be similar."
You're right! The mixture shown here is missing a lot of the subtle flavors that separate the Colonel's chicken from other recipes. The exact nature of the KFC spices is still a secret, and the proportions used today aren't the same as they were when Harland Sanders was still running things. One can get pretty close to the original "Original Recipe," though, since enthusiasts have reverse-engineered the product through lots of trial and error. Here's one attempt: 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon chili powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon dried marjoram 1 teaspoon onion salt 1 teaspoon ground oregano 2 teaspoons paprika 1 teaspoon dried sage 2 teaspoons Accent (MSG seasoning) I hope this helps. Happy cooking!
***** nice how do i get the crunch, really flavor rich chicken patty? I'm tried copying "Animal Style Beef Burger" but it came out not that tasty. Really want to replicate Might Zinger.
guicapone2 Sorry, but I can't help. I went to a KFC near my home, and they'd never heard of the Mighty Zinger. So I went to the KFC Web site, and it's not listed on the menu. It must be something from KFCs in some other country, but not here in the USA.
first off you don't just season the flour. You season the chicken itself as well as the flour. You just put whatever herbs you have. some fresh chives and thyme will do you a world of good.
to the other comments.. not sure if srs, if this comment wasn't written how would we know if it works or not without judging from other comments, thanks Dénes! (:
KFC use Rosemary & Butter-Milk, this recipe is good and i make a similar style,,, experimentation is key!!! Most IMPORTANTLY you Need: high pressure cooker/fryer or what they call a broaster, it locks in all the juices and flavour in to the meat also uses higher temperatures... MAN vs FOOD told me :) and i tried it.... true
this is about as far from KFC as possible. This is nothing but a standard fried chicken recipe. For starters, KFC is fried in a pressure cooker, not an open pan. KFC has many more spices added as well, and they are added in specific proportions, not "just add some xxx".
Hey everyone, check out the NEW version here - th-cam.com/video/cMH9lE2344s/w-d-xo.html ENJOY! :)

Wayne Leon
So if one were to boil the chicken before frying it, should that be done before coating it with the egg wash and flour mixture?
Yes, always do it BEFORE you add the coating and the egg wash with flour.
You could not very well do it if the coating and the egg wash/flour were added as it would come off in the water.
This is NOT the spice recipe for KFC. This is just regular fried chicken.

a tip with chicken, don't eat it pink.
Chicken is naturally a bit pink and now, because of people like you, they process it and feed the chooks chemicals so that it's white...
Pink chicken is like a rare steak. It's perfectly safe to eat and it tastes better.
Aidan Šeštokas they actually feed the chickens a small amount of arsenic to give it the pink colour so yer.
Mike Hunt not really, poultry and pork are not safe to eat unless fully cooked through because of certain bacteria that arent easily killed.
I eat other pink meat I just do not swallow...
should stick in oven for another 5-7 mins make sure cooked through
Agreed.
If you have a cooking thermometer you could use that. The chook is cooked when the internal temp is at 74c.

Nothing about this video talks about the 11 herbs and spices Colonel Sanders claimed he used in the original recipe chicken.
Here's one attempt:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon ground oregano
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon dried sage
2 teaspoons Accent (MSG seasoning)
I hope this helps. Happy cooking!
***** nice how do i get the crunch, really flavor rich chicken patty? I'm tried copying "Animal Style Beef Burger" but it came out not that tasty. Really want to replicate Might Zinger.
guicapone2 I'm sorry, but I've never heard of a Might (Mighty?) Zinger. Is that a KFC product?
***** Mighty Zinger from KFC.
guicapone2 Sorry, but I can't help. I went to a KFC near my home, and they'd never heard of the Mighty Zinger. So I went to the KFC Web site, and it's not listed on the menu. It must be something from KFCs in some other country, but not here in the USA.
Wait, wait wait...KFC toots 11 herbs and spices....You only used 5.....You're missing 6 more spices and herbs....This is bullshit!!!!
Didn't you see the note below? You should have look in it before you comment

These are not the droids you're looking for.
if u know the full recipe of kfc plz type
I remember watching this video 8 years ago. Now suddenly TH-cam decided to put it in my recommendations. 😂
Too bland - you need herbs in there ....
+nmacog Exactly. the outside is going to taste good but no herbs on the actual chicken itself? No. I will need to spice up this recipe
What kind of herbs?
first off you don't just season the flour. You season the chicken itself as well as the flour. You just put whatever herbs you have. some fresh chives and thyme will do you a world of good.
u can find all 12 kfs herbs in Google but I think the secret of that taste is the special fryer.
dried sage, oregano, basil, marjoram, ground allspice, celery salt etc ...
very nice method by theway

to the other comments.. not sure if srs, if this comment wasn't written how would we know if it works or not without judging from other comments, thanks Dénes! (:
Hasn't the chicken to be brined for atleast 6-12 hours? N also there are about 11 herbs in kfc
KFC use Rosemary & Butter-Milk, this recipe is good and i make a similar style,,, experimentation is key!!!
Most IMPORTANTLY you Need:
high pressure cooker/fryer or what they call a broaster, it locks in all the juices and flavour in to the meat also uses higher temperatures...
MAN vs FOOD told me :) and i tried it.... true
I done this and it taste so good thanks Nicko
I tried this with chicken breasts , best day of my life :D
3:21 "the smell is one-oval"

andrew55656 ok hejdj just udj
love your work man
That looks really good. I'm going to try it. The intro song is terrible.
this is about as far from KFC as possible. This is nothing but a standard fried chicken recipe.
For starters, KFC is fried in a pressure cooker, not an open pan. KFC has many more spices added as well, and they are added in specific proportions, not "just add some xxx".
Popeye's is where it's at.
Once you pop, you can't stop.
