I mean.. Most traditional old dish that made with old equipments and techniques are not that tasteful.
Less sugar, less salt, less spices, the oil is not high quality oil, doesn't have cleanliness standard.
Most of today's dish made with the use of stainless steel equipments and some Teflon, right? That also affects the taste.
Imagine how they deep-fried back then vs how we deep-fried now. It's different. Of course humankind always got better n better in every aspects in every era. Because of that, our taste also becoming more high and higher.

So one thing not mentioned is that Harman was actually in a family that had a local grocery store in Utah called Harmon's (biggest local grocer in Utah that's family owned) where they first sold the KFC chicken. They than opened the very first KFC not too far away from that first Harmon's location in Murray, Utah.

A long time ago, when you could sit down INSIDE a restaurant to enjoy a meal (remember?) I'd ask the server at KFC: "Do you know his name?" -- pointing to Col. Harlan Sander's iconic, cartoon image. Usually "No." So I'd share my favorite story of persistence: "When he was retirement age, in his 60's he visited restaurants to ask owners if they wanted to split the profits using his special secret recipe of "eleven different herbs and spices." Who wouldn't give up, after the first hundred rejections? Or, the first 500. How about a thousand rejections? On his visit to, I think it was restaurant owner 1,009, he finally got his first "Yes. If it sells, you get 50 per cent of the profits." The very first "Kentucky Fried Chicken" franchise was born. ["Yes, Grampa -- you've told us the story before!"]

To know that Harlan Sanders went through alot of the same things ive been through, and like me lived on benefits for a while, and went from that to being the founder and owner of one of the biggest most widely heard of fast food franchises on earth! Even in egypt they love his fried chicken, and KFC is actually an acronym that makes it into alot of conversations over there too! But idk, this video tells me to never give up. I have all these big ideas and plans in my head one day for my empire, and hearing this right now makes me feel more hopeful that I can get there one day!!

1973 in Lexington Kentucky, I lived next door to an elderly lady named Eula Gibson. In the early days, Colonel Sanders employed her to create recipes for his restaurant in Corbin Kentucky. In 1973, only 3 people knew the recipe for KFC chicken… Sanders, Eula Gibson and one other (unknown). It is highly likely that Mrs. Gibson created the recipe and not Colonel Sanders. As a kid, she would make KFC chicken at home for me and her 7 year old grandson Ford Gibson. 🍗🍗🍗

Yup most people around now never tasted real KFC. It tasted nothing like now. There was literally no better F chicken anywhere. It was so juicy and tasty, it went bad around early 90's. The mash was actual potato, fresh corn, and the biscuits were fluffy. People don't realize that the horrible fast food of today got popular because it used to taste better than gourmet.

Unlike any other competitor, whose chicken can be easily replicated at home, KFC has stood the test of time. To make it at home, you have to get the seasoning right(which is still a secret). That's not just a mystery (though some have gotten mighty close), but also is a question of the adhesion. It has to blend into the flour perfectly also. Then, you have to cook it right. The cooking time has to be precise. Most of all, you have to have a pressure cooker. Good luck on that; they're expensive, hard to set up, hard to clean, and hazardous if you're not careful.
