As much as I appreciate the hard work that goes into these cakes I can’t get over the amount of cake they waste. They cut the tops off and then the middles. I wonder why they don’t use a ring cake tin where it has a bit in the middle so you already have a hole when you cook it.
Very impressed by the person cutting the layers freehand. Also, can I have the bits they cut off the top and out the middle? Purely in the interests of waste management of course.

There are cake balls and various other ways to use extra cake. I'd bet very little is wasted.
