I don't think it'd be an overstatement to say you're the most intelligent, passionate and dedicated individual I've come across in our profession. Neither my OT professor nor clinical instructor at my level II hand clinic was able to explain this the way you just did. All your videos are so informative and insightful. You are greatly appreciated.
Attempt 2 tomorrow morning but can’t stop myself from listening to your uplifting tone while sharing your knowledge & experience!!! You made me feel like I truly can PASS! I know this is an older video but the most helpful one for me!
I have 3 days to my exam and I wanted to reach out to let you know how helpful these videos have been throughout my journey. You’ve given me more perspective and appreciation for the OT profession and life than all 5 years of OT school and my fieldwork experiences. I wake up and watch your videos and remember why I want to be an OT! Thank you!
Hi Shannon, I just want you to know that I printed out your note and posted it on my wall. It's messages like this that fuel me and give me the nourishment, motivation and inspiration to keep going. I appreciate your kind words and encouragement so very much. Thank you, Shannon.
Hi Miri! I found out yesterday that I passed my NBCOT! I can't believe all of the weeks of studying have finally paid off. I have to thank you for all of your incredible videos! I watched them while I studied, while I did laundry, listened while I was driving and taking walks... any time I could think I turned them on! You're amazing and I genuinely appreciate your time and dedication to furthering the profession! You're incredible and I couldn't have done it without you!

Congratulations again my friend! The world is your oyster!
Our study group of Final year students are currently watching your videos from South Africa and we found them to be very helpful and informative. Thank you.
Good day, I am watching your videos in South Africa. I am an OT, just recapping my splinting, got a new job and have not practiced hands in a long time. Your videos are super.
How wonderful to connect with you! Thank you for being here and leaving your kind feedback. I hope you'll continue to stay engaged here and feel supported.
I am so glad that my friend introduced and encouraged me to watch your videos! You make everything simple and easy.I still have few more videos to watch before my exam, but I already feel a lot more knowledgeable and comfortable. I am a visualized person so even-though I read the materials well, I couldn't conceptualized it until I watched your videos. I truly appreciate your work.
I wanted to let you know that I found out I passed the NBCOT exam today!! I watched your videos for two weeks straight before I took the exam and I know they had a huge influence on my passing. You allowed me to conceptualize all of the subjects, especially the upper extremity injuries, which I was never able to do prior to watching your videos. Thank you sooooo much! You gave me the confidence I needed to take the test and PASS the test!
Congratulations, Jaclyn! This is such wonderful news and I'm elated to hear it! Thank you for thinking of me and coming back here to share the news. Congratulations again. The world is your oyster!
You are such a great teacher! I will never forget your splint descriptions, thank you. I'm so sorry to hear of your condition, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
@@MiriLee Thank you. I'm at 12 weeks now post op, the cast is off but I can't visit physiotherapists due to the COVID lockdown. Can you please guide me as to how to straighten the (middle) finger now as it is quite bent and stiff. I'm doing scar tissue massage myself but looking for further info.
I have 6 days (I'm not counting or anything) till my exam. I just wanted to say thank you for all your creative, passionate contributions to my learning process.
Thank you for connecting with me, Harper, and sharing your OT journey with me. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and sending you all my positive OT vibes. I hope these next few days will be met with peace and unwavering confidence.
Praying for you OT Miri. Thank you for all of your videos. I was supposed to take my exam on Feb. 12, but I wasn’t feeling ready. Your videos have built my confidence and I am ready. I take my exam this Friday.
I'm really happy to hear that my videos have helped build your confidence. The waiting period after the exam is often just as hard, but I hope you'll take some time to relax and reflect on everything you've already accomplished. You've come so far and this is just the beginning!
Thank you so much for your videos! I just started watching them recently and they've been so helpful! I'm a new member and also joined the Facebook group, even though I'm not graduating from my OTA program until this mid-December. I have started studying for the NBCOT exam for about a month now. I felt so overwhelmed in the beginning and still feel overwhelmed. I started doing two of the practice tests from "The COTA Examination Review Guide" book, which has helped me to see what topics I need to focus on and others that I'm okay with so far. I've watched some of your videos so far and they've been really helpful and informative. I want you to know that you're greatly appreciated for making all of these OT videos that are on your TH-cam channel! On a side note, I hope you're doing well and are continuing to heal from that chronic condition you mentioned briefly at the end of this video. My thoughts and prayers are for your healing and recovery.
Thank you for your sweet, thoughtful and heartfelt message, Brittany! I'm glad to hear you got an early start for the exam to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally. It can definitely feel overwhelming and it can feel like a marathon, so it's important to have an individualized schedule and pacing strategy that works for you. I hope my resources bring a sense of comfort and support during this time my friend. You're not alone in this journey. Sending love and light your way, Miri.

You must be elated and I hope you never forget this sense of excitement and joy for occupational therapy and all that you've overcome to reach this milestone! I hope you continue to find support that helps you grow and thrive in your role as an OT practitioner. I’m taking my test in the morning as my second attempt for the COTA exam. I was 3 points away from passing the first time. Say a prayer I pass this time! ❤️🙌🏻
I saw your message yesterday and have been keeping you in my prayers. I woke up thinking of you and wondered how you're doing. No matter how much you prepare, it's never easy walking out of the prometric center, but I hope you'll stay anchored and at peace because you are more than exam and nothing will stop you from living your best life. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Any chance of an updated video being made with new literature? :) Would love to see some Manchester Short or Saint John Protocol reviewing compared to Duran & Klient!
oh thank you so much. That means a lot to me. I have been exploring other alternative treatment options including acupuncture and herbs. It's been a long (and at time painful) journey, but I'm grateful for each day I get to wake up and seize the day.
Thank you, Joseph! I'm happy to know you're finding these resources helpful. I wish you days of peace, calm and confidence leading up to the day of your exam. May you walk in and out of the testing center knowing that you already have everything within you to pass the exam!
I see that you've been spending these last week before your exam reviewing my videos. Thank you for leaving your comments and connecting with me. I love getting to know our community better and it delights me to know that you're finding value and encouragement here.
Where is the video you are talking about at the beginning of this one? The one about other splints? I am having trouble finding it! P.S. You are so helpful!!!
Hi Sarah! I'm happy to know you're finding my resources helpful. Here's a link to all my Hands & UE videos on TH-cam: th-cam.com/video/zuJEXdAdnyk/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for this info. I'm interested in getting into OT and I was wondering What ratio of your time is spent working with clients versus writing reports? Thanks in advance, it's hard to find this kind of info online
I'll pray God to cure you 100% From disease. I want to suggest you that please go for a morning 5min. Meditation Which natural medicine for us You are really great senior ma'am
Hi Dave! I don't have another video just on splints, but I do go over a few more in my other Hands & UE videos, which can all be found under the playlist "Hands & UE." Have a great day!!
Hey I had a doubt regarding flexor tendon injury post op 7 weeks, the client presented with stiffness and their dip is in semiflexed position and why is that and how can I intervene it?
at 2:22 you say (or at least I am hearing) "early IMmobilization", but you have "early mobilization" written... just wanted to clarify are we allowing mobility, or inhibiting?
Hi Miri, thank you for posted the videos. I recently had an injury where I can only move my DIP joint 50 percent, on the middle finger, which started about one month ago. The main issue I have is that I have to hold my hand up elevated or it turns blue on all the fingers, and I can feel a strain or pull in the center of my hand. Is that a symptom of Jersey Finger without a complete rupture? Thanks. EJ.
I'm sorry to hear about your recent injury. I would like to encourage you to seek your personal physician or hand therapist with your specific question. These videos are intended for general informational purposes only and should not be taken as medical advice. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
HI Miri, Where can I find the video of other splint explantation you mentioned at the beginning of this video? I think it would help me out a lot! Thank you, Amber

Thank you, Joseph! I'm happy to know you're finding these resources helpful. I wish you days of peace, calm and confidence leading up to the day of your exam. May you walk in and out of the testing center knowing that you already have everything within you to pass the exam!

at 2:22 you say (or at least I am hearing) "early IMmobilization", but you have "early mobilization" written... just wanted to clarify are we allowing mobility, or inhibiting?
Hi Bonny! It's most definitely early mobilization, not immobilization. Thank you for all your comments and engagement here on the channel!

Hi Jessica! I'm currently finishing up the video series on the pediatric milestones, but will be continuing on with all the requested videos shortly thereafter!
I just had surgery done. My doctor used the Kleinert protocol, when I go to sleep do I leave the rubber band on or disconnect it.
