My heart leapt when I saw Yebba up there with the greats! Yesss!. She is an EXTRAORDINARY singer with an INCREDIBLE voice! Not many singers can sing with the clarity and range that she can, and she writes her own songs too which is brilliant too. I have to agree that after Freddie Mercury, Aretha Franklin deserved to be number 1. Of all the female singers of all genres, Aretha reigns supreme. And Freddie Mercury is at the top of my personal list of male singers. When Freddie sang 'I Will Always Love You,' I got goosebumps! I get goosebumps when I listen to Yebba sing 'My Mind.' Both hauntingly beautiful songs. Both incredible voices. Thank you Isaac from Joel's team for putting together this list. God bless you all. Merry Christmas guys!
Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald placed too low as well. Aretha Franklin, yeh I can agree she is a fair choice for top place, but other than that this whole list is a sh*t show. Whoever put it together needs their ears syringed 🤯
I personally think Morrissey is a great singer- I love his high bits and how he stretched his voice during his time in the Smiths to be really melodically interesting and melancholic, and some of his solo stuff is great too (:
Yeah this list is so weird no chester bettington no steve perry no george michael no amy lee. I love them all and i know there's a lot of pepole who dislike their music but come on they had+ have beautiful voices and they should be on this list.
James Hetfield has the one of the best singing voices ever. It’s so uncommon in the he sense that for a metal singer he doesn’t just scream. He can scream, sing, and more and knows when to in Metallica’s many great songs.
His voice is just so recognizable that it makes it better automatically. One word, and you know it's him. Same for his guitar playing. You just know right away when Papa Het is around
the fact that Steve Perry isnt on this list is criminal, his performance of dont stop believing in 1981 would instantly make him top 3 imo, and also axl rose, corey taylor and tommy körberg should have been here
I think Ariana, Lady Gaga, and Kelly really deserved be higher imo. I mean Aretha Franklin and Freddie Mercury are legendary but those ladies being that low on the list just doesn’t sit right with me. Anyways, thanks for another slamming video Joel!
and the most funny part was that Fergie was singing the national anthem of USA. All the players were trying to keep a straight face. It sounded so sensual
Adele, Lady Gaga, P!nk (where is SHE?), Sia, Amy Lee (!!!), Nina Simone (!!!) those are the singers that should at least start the countdown from 90's to 100.
i found that a lot of the higher up songs were older songs/artists and I am assumig that that is because a lot of them didnt use auto tune back in the day so they just naturally sounded good where as the songs you hear on the radio nowadays are heavily tuned and post processed that when they go to sing live it never sounds as good.
We need a top 100 men list & top 100 women list from you 3...especially since y'all have different taste in music. That would be such a fun video to watch.

Madonna is amazing, she's always have something important to say. That's ok if people don't like her singing, I just think she's offered more than just singing.
People are forgetting this is a level 1-100 list, not a best singers list. Many of the people that other commenters are suggesting should be on the list are simply at the same level as someone that was shown on the list. This list doesn't suggest any of them are bad singers or undeserving to be at the top
I really miss Gerard Way from MCR on this list. I think his voice is AMAZING! But many rock/metal singer‘s I personally would have choosen are missing here, I feel like this list only contained pop & a few of the most known rock singers (:
frank iero as well, the way he can go from normal singing to screaming in a matter of seconds is quite impressive. this is greatly represented in his work in leathermouth.
Joel and crowd often snub rock singers. MJK, Johnathan Davis, Matt Bellamy (Muse) the last example Bellamy how much of a range and an almost unmatched live performance level.
How can you not have Jeff Buckley on this list? 😭 Also, in my opinion, Florence Welch, Conor Mason, Hozier and Aurora are fantastic singers who definitely should be on that list :)
unfortunately bc this channel is very pop focused- they miss out on so many great rock singers except for the very most famous ones. jeff is top 10 at the very very least
I'd love to add Michael Kiske from Helloween and Floor Jansen from Nightwish. Both are incredible singers and not limited to one genre, even if both are doing MEtal.
This list proves how subjective "best" vocals are - it was fun to listen to so thanks for that. Would have rearranged a LOT of these and maybe taken 3 performances each then thrown out the best and the worst?
bro what how are chris cornell and layne staley not on this list lol (or other amazing rock/metal vocalists, the list missed out on so many legendary names)
I feel like Kelly, Ariana, Bruno all should of been higher. Especially Bruno. Feels wrong to put certain people above him when he’s probably better than them. No hate to any of the artists though.
Yes exactly, like Adele (level 75) said that Bruno hade a higher range than her. And I don’t say that he he’s the best vocalist but he is at the top, and with his lyrics and songs I can’t find anyone better than him
While I was watching this video, I was noticing a few things. There's a lot of artists who have been experienced tragic moments in their lives in a variety of ways. I've wondered many times over the years what their lives was like when the spotlights are off them. We hear about drugs, alcohol and suicidal thoughts and feelings on the news. It breaks my heart that so many singers and entertainers sing and write their music so everyone can enjoy their songs. While they could be facing a lot of personal things and heartache in their lives. I've thought about this many times over the years. Like I don't think that Lana del Rey should be included as a great voice, not even particular, Ann Wilson is. Just a list, and not a good one. Certainly not the best.... you're right, can't compare Pavoratti and Freddy......just a stupid list. Like I can't eat cake and lobster too, but turnup will for ever be turnup.....LOL.
@@atomas59 lol when did I ever talk about the list. It makes sense if you make a list genre wise. And the very fact that the people you're trying to say were better than Freddy are absolute fucking legends goes to show what Freddie achieved. I am more into his music because I feel it's more diverse. But of course there are many singers who are better than Freddie in many aspects. This list is completely trash lol
@@thecodegeek9983 Sorry about that you're right, I guess I got mixed up with some other comment....))) interacting here can be a little messy. Seems at the end we agree. These kind of list, is a little reductive. The best, and the restless......Kelly Clarkson , number 49....Lol, what I'm saying, this list is a joke. irrelevant. A bit like the Rolling Stone list, that don't include Celine Dion....yes, that living legend, not included in the list of the Best singer that ever lived....Go figure...)))
How is Nina Simone on 47?? She's one of the best singers of all time!!
Sam Cooke crazy underrated on this list as well, along with many others.
Yeah this list is terrible
@@ericforsyth yeah another one is Pavarotti
@@ericforsyth i genuinely can't understand the placement of Nina, Cooke and Sia. All tremendous singers.
Agreed. And his live singing is still great
It's sad that Lewis Capaldi isn't here. He deserves more credit than he gets. His music is absolutely beautiful and so is he.
In my opinion, on this could also be Ava Max, she is a great vocalist, too.
She's awesome!
I'm surprised they didn't put Steve from Journey on here! He's incredible!!!
His name is steve perry
Not putting Steve Perry is a crime tbh
Steve Perry lol, he is great
Yeah this list is so weird no chester bettington no steve perry no george michael no amy lee. I love them all and i know there's a lot of pepole who dislike their music but come on they had+ have beautiful voices and they should be on this list.
@@noamfogel7067 yeah they’re really missing way too many great singers
Having Justin Bieber so high and then immediately followed by Bruno Mars was hilarious 😂
Justin is amazing singer....
Justin is the goat
@@GaganNepram bruno mars is also good ngl
Justin is a great singer
Justin is a great singer
James Hetfield has the one of the best singing voices ever. It’s so uncommon in the he sense that for a metal singer he doesn’t just scream. He can scream, sing, and more and knows when to in Metallica’s many great songs.
His voice is just so recognizable that it makes it better automatically. One word, and you know it's him. Same for his guitar playing. You just know right away when Papa Het is around
Yup, and many rock singers are missing, where are Axl Rose, Brian Johnson etc..
Imagine putting Kurt Cobain below Jason Darulo
Harry
Frickin
STYLES
WHERE IS HE?!
EXCUSE ME
fellow harries back me up here
(i loved the vid tho great job :)
the fact that Steve Perry isnt on this list is criminal, his performance of dont stop believing in 1981 would instantly make him top 3 imo, and also axl rose, corey taylor and tommy körberg should have been here
I think Ariana, Lady Gaga, and Kelly really deserved be higher imo. I mean Aretha Franklin and Freddie Mercury are legendary but those ladies being that low on the list just doesn’t sit right with me. Anyways, thanks for another slamming video Joel!
exactly
I think alll those singers aré true legends, but I personally prefer Ariana Grande
,100*%agree
@@uyxaszI agree
They weren't low at all.
How Mariah Carey is not up there with the legends is beyond me.
Same for Celine Dion.
@@ramonpadilha998715:24
9:46 your right she has loooooads of room for extra snacks if needed
and the most funny part was that Fergie was singing the national anthem of USA. All the players were trying to keep a straight face. It sounded so sensual
Adele, Lady Gaga, P!nk (where is SHE?), Sia, Amy Lee (!!!), Nina Simone (!!!) those are the singers that should at least start the countdown from 90's to 100.
Adele and Sia aren't even top 10 in their own generation
Zayn Malik is so underrated man
exactly what i thought!! He def should have been on this list, very high up too!
EXACTLY
You guys are dumb he is so overrated
Exactly
i found that a lot of the higher up songs were older songs/artists and I am assumig that that is because a lot of them didnt use auto tune back in the day so they just naturally sounded good where as the songs you hear on the radio nowadays are heavily tuned and post processed that when they go to sing live it never sounds as good.
8:16 roomie’s impression of hank williams is gold
It's a shame they don't add in non mainstream music ever. So many metal bands have absolutely amazing vocalist and would definitely be at the top.
We need a top 100 men list & top 100 women list from you 3...especially since y'all have different taste in music. That would be such a fun video to watch.
First of all, how on earth was Bruno so low? Have you heard Put on A Smile? The range and power is incredible. And also, where was Michael Buble? We got Mariah, So where is Mr. Christmas?
Fr bro you know what’s on
Brendan Urie not being on this list makes the saddest
His voice is too unique to be on this list.I'm happy he is not on the list cause he will rightfully be high up and then some people will start bashing him without a reason!
- This video put Louis instead of Harry styles?
- Kelly Clarkson, john mayer, bruno mars should be higher
- Alicia keys should be on the list
Joel’s absolute CACKLE at 14:02 is giving me life
Poor louis lmao, i love his voice
Ye me too. He might not have the best technique or rance but he does amazayn music and he's improving so much. Also they picked a bad performance cause he has so many better ones
louis has improved a lot!! he is one of the greatest lyricist at the moment
Maybe but some recent clips I've seen of live performances for his album promo weren't the best. Maybe in concert it's better?
i'm surprised hayley from Paramore was no where on list list.
Madonna is amazing, she's always have something important to say. That's ok if people don't like her singing, I just think she's offered more than just singing.
Sia deserves way higher on this list. She’s a better vocalist than at least half of the top people.
Joel trying so hard not to be mean, "unfortunate." Lol
I really think Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell and Layne Staley should've been on this list. All three of them are fantastic singers.
I was getting ready to comment this exactly
Only cobain is here fron grunge era
Jonas and August are moving up the food chain! Now Joel has new researchers to yell at.
Here for the August disrespect, it's incredibly funny. Still wheezing at "August's taste in music is sucking with confidence"
Where is Pink? Steve Perry? Luther Vandross? I could go on and on.
Louis has himself said he is continuously working to improve himself and training with a vocal coach. Nevertheless, I love the music he puts out, ❤
And he's not a bad vocalist at all, never was. It's just "popular" to hate on him and pick the worst clips for this kind of compilations.
I was looking for this comment and I totally agree 👍💙
@@sheilak5082 He 100% is not a good singer, he is ok at best. Not here to hate but let's be real pls
louis vocal is not strong, but it is nice and original
@@RedWay7 So ok at best like I said
So hyang ,tori kelly both deserve a spot on this list
People are forgetting this is a level 1-100 list, not a best singers list. Many of the people that other commenters are suggesting should be on the list are simply at the same level as someone that was shown on the list. This list doesn't suggest any of them are bad singers or undeserving to be at the top
1:06 not singing but his vocals are fire wtf
Chris Martin's live Viva La Vida on Howard Stern was MAGICAL...He nailed it. Isaac get your shit together!
The weekend at LVL 50 seems a bit low... I saw him live back in 2017 and it was magical, his vocals were great
No
I feel like him and taylor swift should claim like a few spots higher than they actually are on this list
I really miss Gerard Way from MCR on this list. I think his voice is AMAZING! But many rock/metal singer‘s I personally would have choosen are missing here, I feel like this list only contained pop & a few of the most known rock singers (:
Right? He has amazing range and power!
Agreed - Gerard Way, Brendon Urie, and Patrick Stump could've all made it high on the list
YESSS
Yes, not much representation from rock/metal. I'd add Corey Taylor and Mike Patton as singers who deserved to be on this list and very high.
frank iero as well, the way he can go from normal singing to screaming in a matter of seconds is quite impressive. this is greatly represented in his work in leathermouth.
Ariana Grande at 69th level seems like It's intentional
"34 35"
Omg yesssss
Freddie not being level 100bis a crime against humanity
Pavarotti, Franklin and Mercury top 3 respective kings and queens of singing 👑
Surprised Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson weren’t put somewhere in the list.
Maynard James Keenan has not once been mentioned in a video and his singing is impressive and powerful
Yes exactly…
Joel and crowd often snub rock singers. MJK, Johnathan Davis, Matt Bellamy (Muse) the last example Bellamy how much of a range and an almost unmatched live performance level.
@@ExarchGaming Agree they really do
Chris Cornell, Layne Staley, and Mike Patton all should have been included too
@@charlesnunziata8693 yep
How can you not have Jeff Buckley on this list? 😭
Also, in my opinion, Florence Welch, Conor Mason, Hozier and Aurora are fantastic singers who definitely should be on that list :)
Yes man jeff buckley is the greatest vocalist ever
unfortunately bc this channel is very pop focused- they miss out on so many great rock singers except for the very most famous ones. jeff is top 10 at the very very least
I'd love to add Michael Kiske from Helloween and Floor Jansen from Nightwish. Both are incredible singers and not limited to one genre, even if both are doing MEtal.
Metal singers are top tier!
Justice for Sia. Her live performances are always amazing. She sounds just like the record.
Cmon man Ed Sheeran is 38,must be trolling
This list proves how subjective "best" vocals are - it was fun to listen to so thanks for that. Would have rearranged a LOT of these and maybe taken 3 performances each then thrown out the best and the worst?
It's not subjective at all. Their editor who put the list together just doesn't know anything about the vocal technique.
I know it's a really hipster choice but Bobby McFerrin is a phenomenal singer who is a must on this list!
bro what how are chris cornell and layne staley not on this list lol (or other amazing rock/metal vocalists, the list missed out on so many legendary names)
Non English singers: Yeah we don't exist.
I mean, we can say the ones at the bottom are bad, but...we all know who they are. It feels like that's still a win for them.
And I don’t say that he he’s the best vocalist but he is at the top, and with his lyrics and songs I can’t find anyone better than him
I totally agree
I love Ariana Grande and Bruno mars

While I was watching this video, I was noticing a few things. There's a lot of artists who have been experienced tragic moments in their lives in a variety of ways. I've wondered many times over the years what their lives was like when the spotlights are off them. We hear about drugs, alcohol and suicidal thoughts and feelings on the news. It breaks my heart that so many singers and entertainers sing and write their music so everyone can enjoy their songs. While they could be facing a lot of personal things and heartache in their lives. I've thought about this many times over the years. On this video there's so many singers who had had an abundance of heartaches in their lives.
