Hello, Catherine, from Joanalee in Iowa, USA! When I saw that massive row of sinks, it reminded me of something a TH-camr did. She mounted an old, mildly rusty sink into the top of an old shabby potting table and connected a garden hose to it and had it in her yard for washing and potting, etc. it’s so cute!! I desperately wish we had affordable salvage yards here. Unfortunately the prices are hiked up so high 😞. So I will continue armchair traveling thru your videos 🥰. Cheers! 🥂 Have a blessed day!
Love the term bric a brac! Even that is a vintage phrase. Loved seeing what you found as you had a day out having fun. Thanks for bringing us along on your ventures.
Hello, Catherine, from the French Alps! Thank you for taking us along. I love thrifting as well and enjoy the "brocantes" we have here in France. I'm originally American and find that Europe is a treasure trove of antiques and beautiful pieces😍
😊 Thank you for watching-I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Thrifting in France must be amazing, especially with all those gorgeous brocantes! Europe really is a treasure trove. 😍 Wishing you a lovely week ahead! 🌿✨
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you get to visit Ireland someday-it’s such a beautiful place. Wishing you a fantastic week ahead! 🌿☘️
Hi Catherine. Just want to say that I hope you, Miss B, Mr B and all the other Bees stay safe over the next 24 hours or so. I hope you have battened down the hatches x 🙀😾🐝
I haven't been to Dublin in years so I'm sure it's high time I made a return trip. However, if and when I do it won't be to go car booting or antique shopping. So you can count me amongst the armchair shoppers and as I'm trying very hard to do a no-spend year this is the best way to shop. So thank you for helping me to keep my pennies in my pocket!
Thank you for your lovely comment! I’m so glad you enjoyed armchair shopping with me-it’s a great way to stay inspired without spending. Best of luck with your no-spend year, and have a wonderful week ahead! 😊🪴

Here in the Eifel you can visit those markets nearly every weekend. Either regularly in small towns at the same places, but also in villages. Then the people of the villages sell their things in front of their houses. This is really exciting, and it takes you a full day, as they also provide food and drinks and cakes. It' s great. You' d have lots of fun there. For sure.👍🙋♀️
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Saint Vincent DePaul is such a great place to find hidden gems, there sone in my local village. ♥️ Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! 😊✨

Oh Catherine I love this video. I live in Navan so I get to go to the SVP furniture warehouse quite often. I donate all my furniture that I’m finished with to them.
Thank you so much! That’s wonderful to hear-you’re so lucky to have the SVP warehouse nearby! Donating your furniture is such a kind and thoughtful thing to do, and they seem really friendly too. Wishing you a fantastic week ahead! 😊🌟
This is my favorite pastime 🤍🤍🤍 I love to go to antiquing and salvaging . And this week I’m going to try and use the phrase “bric-a-brac” at least 2 times. lol. You’re a doll dainty 🤍🤍🤍 or maybe….car boot…🤣

My favourite thing to do is wander around antique and junk shops. I visit Hebden Bridge often, there is a charity shop that sells older items of all sorts. I brought a roll top desk like yours last year. I had to store it at a friend’s house for a week then hire a van to collect it! 400 mile round trip but it was so worth it. Lovely virtual trip around some amazing shops 😊
That sounds like quite the adventure for the roll-top desk! It’s great to hear it was worth the 400-mile trip. Hebden Bridge sounds like a lovely spot for antique and junk shop treasures. 😊 I’m so glad you enjoyed the virtual trip-thank you for watching! Wishing you a fantastic week ahead! ✨
Ooo there were a few things i had my eye on 😂 but too far to travel from Scotland but one day, one day a visit is on rhe cards..haven't been to Dublin since i was 3! My Nanny's cousin Kay had a boarding house. All i remember was going to a park that had those funfair mirrors ...err was nearly 63 years ago! 😮
Hello to Hudsonville, Michigan! 😊 I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and the little thrifting adventure. It’s always fun to see what treasures turn up! ❤ Wishing you a fantastic week ahead! ✨
Haha, you’re probably right! There’s something so special about finding treasures at car boot sales. It’s all part of the fun! 😊 Thanks for watching, and wishing you a fantastic week ahead! 🌟
I love, as we in the states flea markets. You see things that you have never seen in your life. Great bargains. Yes, I don’t do antique stores. But, I love them. Thank you for the adventure!❤
So good to hear your comments about Kilkenny being a beautiful place to visit. A family friend’s parents live there and I hope to go there on an Ireland trip some day.
Aw it is beautiful there, you can tour the castle, but nearby loads of lovely smaller places. Well known for its pottery, you could visit Thomastown near by x
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the items. Thrifting is always such a fun adventure-I hope you get to go again soon! ❤ Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! 😊✨
One of my favorite things in the world to do is go antiquing! My husband is very long suffering! But I don't believe we have any real salvage yards like you do around my area. They have car salvage! And we have something called habitat for humanity. It mostly stuff building contractors have over purchased and have either donated it or maybe they sell it. We have some thrift stores, even our salvation army went out! anyway, loved the vid! thanks for taking us around! xoxo
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Antiquing is such a fun adventure-I'm sure your husband has had quite the journey with you! 😄 It’s a shame there aren’t many salvage yards around, but Habitat for Humanity sounds like a great place to find interesting bits. Wishing you a lovely week ahead, and thank you again for watching! xoxo 😊✨
Oh, I'm practically drooling as I see all the windows! I'm a stained glass artist, and would be so thrilled to pick up a few of them for my projects! Unfortunately, I live in the States, so darn it, I'll have to pass!
That’s amazing that you’re a stained glass artist! I can only imagine how stunning those windows would be in your projects. 😊 Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! ✨
I thrift 80-90% of home goods and clothing. I love a good find. I have to be careful because I’ll sometimes buy things for sewing or art projects and then it sits which I don’t like because I try to keep my clutter contained.
Thanks Catherine . You reminded me that I need to go thrifting. Most of all my dishes and decorative are from antique and thrift shopping. Enjoyed all the shops.
The roll top desk is gorgeous, what a beautiful find. So pleased too that it transpired to be of some monetary value, clever you 👏🏻👏🏻. If it could talk it would have some fascinating stories to tell shame we can’t hear them. Much love to you dear girl xx
Thank you so much! I’m thrilled you loved the roll-top desk-it really is a special piece. If only it could share its stories! Much love to you too, and have a wonderful week ahead. xx 😊❤✨
Thank you Catherine, very useful information here. I must check out these markets. I've purchased a few things from Navan furniture. If you can transport it yourself that's a good option. They charge way too much for delivery even if you are nearby.
Hiiiiiii❤ new subscriber 👋 loved all your suggestions. Im in Limerick and a regular thrifter/antiquer but its good to know whats on the east coast next time I'm over there. Thank you for the link too 😊
Hello and welcome! 😊 I’m so glad you enjoyed the suggestions! You'll have to give me tips for places to rummage in Limerick when I visit next. Thanks for subscribing, and wishing you a wonderful week ahead! ❤✨
@DaintyDiaries sooooo...there's Irelands Biggest Antique Fair which happens several times a year at Limerick Racecourse. Castle Antiques across from King John's Castle. Antique Loft in the Milk market(vintage clothing and accessories) Chisel & Oak Antique furniture and more. St Vincent's furniture store across the street from the milk market. If you're ever in Limerick pay those a visit. 😊
Wondering what was inside the beautiful blue box from Newbridge at the car boot sale 🤔 Bought a lovely pair of flower metal candle stick holders in a charity shop in Trim. Love buying something unique on my travels. Inspired for my next trip to Ireland.
Love watching your videos. A bit of a strange request but is there a chance you could, with your sewing skills, please make some fabric material finger gloves for every day use please?
Hey, here is a great one th-cam.com/video/mjhGYzA0qig/w-d-xo.html I have no plans to make a vide on this, but TH-cam search had LOADS of glove tutorials, happy sewing x
Hey Catherine! I lived in Drogheda and they have two really good furniture stores, and one is a hit and miss but the SVP in Drogheda has a specific furniture store, bought a lot of really good kitchen stuff, even teracotta ones and a carpet runner! Next is Austin's Furniture Store and More, they have a good selection of furniture, but I found an oil painting that I LOVE for 15 euros. A hit and miss is Bargainshop, they have good choices of furnitures now and then but not a huge selection. Drogheda also has a lovely small vintage shop called Times Past Antique, the owner is very nice, and if you're looking for something specific, he might let you in his storage area, which is the upstairs, also found a bigger oil painting for 60 euros and a few brass items. And for clothes, they 6 charity stores, not included in the ones that I mentioned. It's worth to go around. Just park somewhere, and make a trip out of it! All these places are within walking distance. I just hope they don't get too popular 🤣🤣
Oh thank you for sharing! Id love to see Times Past Antiques! Have you ever been to the antique/salvage one that is out in Carlingford? I think it is called Crystal antiques.
Hello, Catherine, your videos are so welcoming and you have some beautiful ideas for repurposing furniture and reusing items as well. Thank you for this video! Just curious, I saw in this video and your last one some very thick wicker baskets. I believe you have one in your home for your fireplace logs, and I was just wondering if you had a recommendation on where one might find a similar/heavy duty one to use for the same purpose?
Hi Catherine. I mentioned recently that your channel isn’t coming up on my TH-cam page even though I’ve got notifications turned on. Well I’ve unsubscribed and resubscribed and it’s still the same. I got a notification you’d uploaded this video but had to go to your channel to find it, as you’re still not showing up naturally. I love your channel and would hate for any other viewers to miss seeing your uploads. Xx
Hi Laura, thanks for the feedback. By engaging in the video and commenting, that will help the algorithm show the videos on your home page. I always upload at the same times each week, Thursday 7pm and then the odd Sunday also 7pm, so you know where to come and find me. Thanks for popping by x
Perhaps you need to hire a van and drive to France? Emmaus, a charity shop chain has everything. Clothing, tableware, furniture, and sometimes so worth it. But don't tell others.
Yes, we have a housing crisis the past few years, and Dublin is the second most expensive place to live in Europe. Navan is a commuter town, and really nice but the housing prices are still really high.
Armchair traveller here!Absolutely loved the trip through the boot sales and charity shops!

That’s so clever! What a fun idea 😍 it’s a shame things are so expensive in your salvage yards! Are there cheaper options anywhere else?
@ Not that I have found…yet! But I’ll keep looking 🙂
I think it was White Cottage Company channel she does awsome flips
Yes, love her channel, and Lone Fox regularly goes thrifting and has his own shop I think?
@@cherylmcgilvray1966 Yep! It was Mary @ White Cottage Co!

Hey, yea the log basket I got in Homesense a few years ago, and it wasn't expensive an has lasted well x
Hello my friend ❤
Hi there!!👋 thanks for stopping by xx
Please tell me you got the royal Albert cottage garden teacups! I want that pattern so bad but it’s hard to find in the US even on eBay

It is our little secret!
Would love to go thrifting there but I don’t think they will deliver to US.
Unfortunately, I think it would be too expensive for shipping, but I know some places do deliver internationally. x
Don't want to wish my life away but, wish we were neighbors !
Is it expensive to purchase a home where you live? Is Navan a nice area
Yes, we have a housing crisis the past few years, and Dublin is the second most expensive place to live in Europe. Navan is a commuter town, and really nice but the housing prices are still really high.
