I respect Max a lot but I didn't feel like he was right for Jenna at all. So I'm glad she found someone who is way amazing for her. But this video gained him even more respect. Wish him nothing but happiness!
What I don't understand is why is this even an issue anymore? It should be ancient history now. Jenna's obviously moved on Max seems like he's trying to move on but can't because some people are still butt hurt over the fact they did break up. Why can't people except it for what it is and move on? Do they not have anything else better to concern themselves with? What's wrong with people? Maturity does go a long way.

Being with other ladies doesn't mean he's moved on, even though I agree that he has moved on. At the end of the day they're both doing their own thing and people just need to get the fuck over it.

Max shouldn't give up. Eventually Jenna is going to get tired of Julien because it seems as if he likes to spend more time with his vloggy than he does with her. Then all Max has to do is shave and put on some sleeves and then they'll be back together forever...

Even though the issue is like 3 years old, people still make a deal out of it. I think Max was just clarifying that his jokes are just jokes. No personal jabs at anyone, especially Jenna.
He sees the numbers and is trying to comfort himself.
First off I wanna say that was extremely mature of Max to make this video. TBH I've been waiting for him to address this. I still remember Jenna having him over in the Drunk Christmas Tree Decorating video and saying "For the record, Max and I did break up. But we're still best friends. We were together 4 years you don't just throw all of that away" (Or something along those lines I'm just trying to go off the top of my head) But the point is, Jenna has never taken any digs at Max, and from what we've seen of Max since the break up, are we really thinking he's that terrible of an ex to take digs back at her? I've always thought that she'd want Max to be happy and vice versa. But the fact it's been what, 3 years since they broke up and people are still salty about it? Move on. Get a life. Do what Max is saying, fill your life with love and not hate what's the point of that? The only ex I don't talk to is my last one because is was actually an ass! And my new boyfriend believes in the principal that Max is saying: Why be filled with hate? Just like, I'm upset that Max had to make this video so people would stop talking about it, but I appreciate what he said and how he reacted. He wasn't an ass about it, he was mature and open and kind about it. So everyone grow up thanks I love you *fart noise*

I think people have a hard time leaving Max alone because Jenna is an internet superstar, and the fact that she has moved on is totally spotlighted by her fame, as well as Julien's success on TH-cam. And sadly Max is not in the spotlight in the way that she is. And he doesn't appear to have a new long term relationship, so people are going to speculate that every joke he makes is a dig at his ex, the incredibly awesome internet superstar goddess, that he hasn't moved on, and that his life is ruined without her. But speculation is what it is and no more. Just because you assume something to be, doesn't make it so. It's unfortunate that Max has to deal with it constantly, and that he felt compelled enough to make this video. Clearly he has a good head on his shoulders and definitely has the right idea about love. Even though it didn't work out between Jenna and him, it's pretty obvious that Jenna knows how to pick em. Incredible people with such positive energy are drawn to each other like magnets. Love to you Max
no its cause she can do no wrong. She's famous and rich but is still humble and people with her fame are usually caught in some drama but she isn't she just has kindness for the world. Its not just cause she's famous. If she was an awful person people wouldn't have reacted this way
i think if you truely love someone, there is a part of you that always will. There's a part of your heart that will always belong to them. You want them to be happy and successful in their life, no matter if they arent in your life. If all you feel is animosity and hatred towards them... then can you honestly say you ever loved them?
I've always thought that same thing. If you really, truly love someone I believe that you always will, weather you are with them or not. If you can say that you don't love someone anymore then you probably never really loved them in the first place. ;)

Before we started talking he had an ex girlfriend who he, at one point, was in love with. Not me though, i'd never been in love despite being in a couple of relatively serious relationships.. and the thought of not having "all of his heart" or him still being even a little *in love* with someone else, really fucks my shit up, fuuuuck, do you really think that?!?!
NoTimeToExplain love is forever but that doesn't mean it doesn't change. You can love someone you're in a relationship with and still love them after you break up. It doesn't mean you still want to be with them or that you can't love anyone else. Good luck hun, hope things have turned out okay

Max this is so refreshing to hear, not just based on your own situation but on our own situations too. I mean I feel like I can relate a lot to this, coming from a breakup that I really didn't have say in (hence it wasn't mutual). And as much as I thought I could hate him (which isn't the nicest thing to do, I know), I couldn't bring myself to hate him because that bond was still there. It was present and continues to be present despite the fact we no longer date or talk all that much. To have someone finally understand what I've been trying to explain to others is so uplifting and very much appreciated - thank you.

Just getting to watch this now, but I think this video came into my life when I needed it. Thank you Max, for making this video. From watching Jenna's "Draw My Life" video I know she only feels love for you. And I hope that the current (disfunctional and unhealthy) lack of relationship I have with my ex will heal into something like this. Mutual respect and distant love where we only hope the best for each other. Good luck finding your next great love if you haven't already.

Someone finally said it. Thank you so much for making this video. People need to understand that you don't have to hate your ex, you can still be friends or whatever you want to be. There's no rule of how you should act towards them.
Definitely the pep talk I needed today about exes. Breakups are hard so I get wanting to look at the negatives so the positives don't hurt as much. But as time passes, you really value what you once shared with that person. Thanks for the reminder :)

You're awesome Max. I just went through a bad break up three months ago. I was with him for four and a half years and I will always love him. I may grow away from him and be angry with how things ended but that doesn't change what we had which is something beautiful to look back on. So thank you Max for supporting my own feelings towards my ex and helping me by knowing I'm not alone.
This is an incredible video-it really made me think about my break up with my best friend and how that line of love and hate shouldn't be crossed. It truly helped me look at our friendship in a new light man, thank you :)

It's great you put it behind you and moved on to other things (not to mention to share a bit of what you went through to help others in dealing with break-ups.) You survive a break up and move on, and it aggravates me that people put you down in the comment section or vice versa. People that watch videos sometimes need to understand that you guys have a life, and feelings. I'm so glad you went over this subject, I know it was probably hard for you but I'm glad you touched upon it. I admit, at first I wasn't going to click to watch the video, but odd curiosity compelled me. Max, thank you for this video! It's too true that people immediately have a certain frame of mind whenever "exes" become a topic. Not everyone tries to "win" the breakup, but it's this absolutely ridiculous concept that we all undoubtedly do (or have done at some point/to some level). Yeah, I started watching you because of Jenna, but I do usually enjoy your videos, so obviously I stayed as a subscriber. I think, unfortunately, that once you're a TH-camr you're kind of in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario. If you share so much information about a relationship that people feel a personal connection to it, then people are gonna get personally invested in its outcome. And when that relationship ends and you decide you need to keep your private life out of videos, then people assume that you haven't moved on, haven't gotten over the person, haven't stopped either wanting them back or hating them... or both. And really, it's very one-dimensional thinking and real people are not that one-dimensional. Plus, you'd think after 3 years people would stop reading into things... but unfortunately TH-camrs are often seen as one-dimensional characters of themselves and not as real people. It really comes down to fans realizing that the people whose videos we watch are actual people with the same emotional complexities as us. Then videos like this, as insightful as it is, wouldn't be needed.
Max this video played randomly after your latest video on December 3rd 2016. You have no idea how much I needed this. My ex and I got pregnant pretty much at break up sex. And now we have a 5 month old together. we still share the same apartment so its been really hard. Recently she started dating someone and it crushed me. My dreams of having a family is slipping away from me right before my own eyes. I'm not really sure how we are gonna get through all this. but for some reason this video gave me some different insight. idk man. it might not mean much but you might have helped changed the path of my sons life. It's like a funeral. Not the loss of them, but the loss of something within you. You discover a lot when the challenges get sever. It is like an indirect mirror. That if you pay close attention becomes direct. The concept sometimes for those who grow slow don't understand it until years later.
