If you are currently using a Lee or other press, and considering getting a Dillon 550, can you use the Lee dies and powder measure you already have? Here's an example
Well said Walter...... I don't know why some people would think that different brands would not work with others..... they all the same but different name....yes there's some stuff don't interchange with some but there's a lot more that does.... Great video......
Good and useful information. As a matter of interest, I've used Lee dies on my Dillon 550 B , for well onto 40 years. As well as Lyman, Hornady and RCBS dies. Sometimes mixed with Dillon dies, too. No problems, whatsoever. Thanks for sharing your views.
Thanks, Cal. I rarely use a single-manufacturer’s full set of dies on any of my presses, opting instead for the optimum mix for the round I’m loading. This was a specific, purpose-driven activity. Good to hear of your experience. I’m sure the new and prospective users will find this encouraging. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Just subscribed again. TH-cam auto unsubscribed me. Great information. It’s always the little things that waste so much time trying to figure out. Showing the lock ring on the bottom is a great hack. Thanks
The Reloader Dude bought a 550 BL and set up with Lee Gear. He had to put each primer into the primer cup by hand. He did the just before the Lee Pro4000 came out.
I vaguely remember that one now that you mention it. I should have gone back and reviewed it. The BL has no on-board automatic primer delivery system as the “C” version does. Thanks for that comment..some folks may want to go over to his channel to watch that one. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Hi..thanks for stopping by. There are several lighting sources here. The LED strips under the tool head are the “UFO” kit from KMS Squared. The center light that fits through the hole in the center of the tool head is from InLine fabrication. KMS squared sells a splitter cable that allows both units to be operated by the same power supply and switch. Then I also have a magnetic sewing machine light that sports an LED lamp on a flexible stem that can attach anywhere. They can be found at Amazon. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
What?!?! Can I use WHAT?!? Blue and Red make Purple... Roger dont like Purple!! As long as it aint 9mm for a 1911... Dont know I could handle knowing this... 😋😜😳😝
Nicely done! I really enjoy your thorough approach without being boring. Everything you need and nothing you don't.
Thanks, Tex! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Great to see you in front again. Good video for us newbies, thanks.
Hi, Len. Thanks so much for your support here. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Thanks, Michael. From my experience, people get more weirded out over the powder measure, thinking it can’t work without Dillon’s fail-safe rod. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Thanks for stopping in, Ocean. I always appreciate hearing from you 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Good to know about this Walter.👍
Thanks, Dwayne. I have used a mix of dies, very few Dillons included, for some time. Ever since I got my first Dillon which was an XL 750. 😃. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
@@viejo2a I have checked out the Dillion but never pulled the switch on getting one ☝️ 👍🇺🇸
Glad you made this video. I was going to do one like this when I got my press next month.
I’m excited to hear that the new press is only a month away! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Thanks for clearing that up @Viejo 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

Great Video Brother.
Thank you, my friend! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Good stuff
Thanks, Trees! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Good stuff Walter! I use Lee auto drums on my 550b for many calibers! Dies as well.
Hi, Hazz. Thanks for that. It was my hope that several would chime in with similar experiences for the prospective Dillon users to read. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
I have a couple of Lee die sets on Dillon 550 tool heads . The later die sets from Lee have more threaded area than the older die sets .
Hi James, thanks for checking it out! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
I really like that light setup, can you tell me about it ? Great idea to have lights under the press. Thank you for the good info.
