    I can't help but wonder if going immediately for the house income is actually worthwhile. Consider that each ballista makes subsequent ballistae more expensive, and that the houses take time to ramp up their returns. Would you really miss out on that much if, instead of your current opening tactic, saved the money for an expensive-but-powerful tower well-suited to be placed by the Tower? Shredders and Encampments seem ideal, as the former benefits from sending sawblades down the longest possible path, while the latter will have the most time to drop mines before the first foe arrives at your doorstep.

      I'd love to see the mathematical breakdown on ballista/house ROI values over time. I think you're right, there's definitely a bottleneck in there somewhere.

      I usually go for the corners and in between the houses. That’s two houses per ballista, I don’t really bother with more than that.

      If you don't die due to lack of money, it's absolutely worth it to squeeze even the small first levels bucks out of the houses. That is, if you're not terribly worried about those ballistae getting some of the xp that should be going to another tower instead.

      By lvl 40 you gained 20 pairs of 41gold (i.e. 1+40, 2+39 or 20+21) per spot close to 1 house. Thats 820 gold per spot, and 1 balista can even be close to 2 houses. Costs of balista lategame at wanders buildrate are around 400. Could be more accurate, but QUICK MAFS

      It is worthwile in general because in general the towers placed really close to your tower wont have much to shoot at and the sppts next to houses are bad in comparason to say a +3 spot with muktiple lanes to shoot at, so you rather want your good towers to be on those good spots with good value and the cheapest, which are ballistas most of the time, next to the houses. In addition the houses ramp up the money you receive per tower per expansion, which makes it wise to have towers next to them as soon as possibke.

    I think the reason the obelisk appears to have a weakness to switching targets is because it isn't a true non stop firing beam weapon. It just has a fast rate of firing each "shot" and that blinking is only what it looks like when firing one shot and reloading to shoot a different enemy because the first enemy was defeated in the first shot.

    Is it me or did they change how the bi planes work? They seem to strafe now when they just used to do a barrage on a single enemy and fly away
    Edit: I saw the update log and they did increase accuracy of the radar to make em more viable!

    Just asked in the Discord, a roll is made for each damage type on each university. So having multiple universities is more reliable than a single university once some base percentage level is reached.

      I mean you might actually want "less reliable' if having an ultra positive roll will be more likely to push you over the top for a victory.

    I noticed you always get destroyed at lv40 like in your tower and balista run. You need a second kill zone for all those spawners.

      Personally, I find multiple kill zones the way to get victories. But you need to specialize them. The further they are away from your tower, the more you need to focus on poison. In the middle, you focus on armor, and close to the tower work on health. And build a long path for the boss where you REALLY focus on getting those shields down, then armor, then health. Each of your kill zones do need to be able to deal with each type of defense (shield/armor/health) but if you're doing it right, only the spawned units are going to have the defenses you aren't focused on in each kill zone.

    so I was watching someone else playing this and they mentioned something that I'm not sure if you've noticed yet, the DoT's for towers are actually locked behind the +1 bonus'. So if you want bleed damage you first have to buy the +1 health damage, if you want fire you need the armor power, and if you want poison you need the shield power.

    For the pokemon boxes thing in PLA, you aren't meant to keep them all. You are meant to release the ones you don't want/need to get grit to raise your stats.

    the obelisk seems to have a definite and distinct firing delay after switching to a new target, unlike poison sprayers which dont. thats probably because it has double the fire rate and double the base damage, which makes it deal between 2 and 4 times more dps. being weak to hordes is lethal though because mobile portals spawn beholders that spawn eyes, and that exponential spawning is impossible for anything that isnt aoe to overcome. except maybe like full manabolt ballistas, because you can spam ballistas in a way you just cant for any other tower. and you just need the fire rate if you cant just delete everything as an aoe

    I think the priority conf is a trap.
    Enemy A has 1000HP -> target and attack.
    Enemy B came into range has 1000HP -> target switched to the new "highest health".
    If they would target lock until death, that might be better.
    Obelisk at least doesn't switch frequently.

      I think high health targeting is useful for AOE units like mortars and sprayers, so they can get the maximum value out of each shot. High health units usually have lower health ads passing by them pretty frequently.

      I tend to spread out my towers' priorities between most of the options. Especially when I have clusters of single target towers, I do my best to make them target different monsters. Having all towers on most health is definitely bad, and only gets worse as you get close to the castle

    I've been trying to do an obelisk only run for the last couple of days, and I always die around wave 40 when the portals come in, having real difficulty with just the pure numbers of enemy's that come in. But interesting to see your strategy
    Id recommend you look into the -1 damage but have {half x level} crit chance card, for me its essential to pretty much all my builds late game, for you it would have won this run, crit chance + tesla is basically a win as your proccing 4x damage a hit,
    Poison slows is also really good, as the tesla's can get the adds poison damage card

    Can devs add mode “place a tile” where you build your own roads from rasters of tiles ? Splits, long roads etc. maybe after that you can build roads that curve around your castle …
    Also how about option to rotate camera ?

    Enemies drop more gold based on how many types of towers have hit it, I wonder if the bosses drop more chests if more types of towers have hit them?

    I! am loving this game. Got it myself. 0 regret. Radar Towers and the 3 status towers are probably my favorites. But Lookout is sooooooo freaking good.
    I should try obelisks but I haven't even unlocked them yet, lol. About to play around with mines.

    It would be more cost efficient to upgrade some of the ballistae surrounding the houses than spamming them. +1 level or ballista is still +1 gold.

      The gold given is based upon the current run level rather than the level of the tower next to them

    Hey wander, that “blinking” from early in the video is the obelisk 1 shotting the tiny guys from the armored ram, not glitching or anything. It just takes a little in between kills❤️
    Edit: I’m further in the video and it seems like you’ve understood this, but I’m leaving it up for people that might not.

    those +1 cards on a fast tower like the obelisk are so much better then on something like a ballista or a particle cannon.

      A little, yeah. It specifically counters strategies that do all their damage at once instead of spreading it out over the map.

    I like how he has 7 obelisk and only 1 Tesla, and the Tesla ended up dealing a quarter of all the damage of obelisk combined. While the Tesla wasn't in a good spot and wasn't focused level.

    Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a good game; however, the issues you pointed out are what held it back from being a great game. Average to homely environments are a negative mark against this game, but the game systems kept me going. If they make a future game, I want them to keep the Pokémon Legends mechanics. I loved being able to sneak around and catch Pokémon with a Pokeball Sneak Attack. Evolving Pokémon that generally needed to be traded with an item was a godsend to me. In addition, evolving a Pokémon at your leisure instead of the evolution occurring at the required level is a significant change. It makes me happy to know someone else liked Let's Go too; the implementation of the Pokémon Go capture system works well in the game. The only downside is that Gym Leaders and the Elite Four were a trivial challenge in Let's Go.

    I think the obelisk towers could have worked better if a bunch of them were set to target the strongest that would have a chance of living though the AOE of the tesla coil. I did actually do a whole run on one path with only teslas, obelisks scattered around ahead of the tesla applying dots, and clustered behind the tesla, and a few frost towers

    Bleed, burn, and poison are not instant damage. They only deal like 50 damage per second. 'Stacking on' more bleed/burn/poison or whatnot doesn't do anything if they've already got 2k+ each, which can be easily done by wave 25. Really the only benefit to status effects are the crit bonuses.

    Got my 1st victory today and used the obelisk / lookout meta. I did have morters, planes, tesla, and snow. With sprinkles of balista slow, poison with slow, and flame.

    The lookout doesnt show any dmg, does it count its dmg towords the other towers?

      It adds it's stats to any tower hitting it's marked target. Lookout itself only marks towers. It's good to have it on max HP/shields/armor to shred bosses.

    try to keep the first priority at progress so it targets the whatever it is but first the closest to the tower with [most health ect]

    You only need like 3 University because math. 3 universities with like 33% each is better than 9 universities with like 11% just because they have same probability but it's cheaper to build 3 towers than 9. Obviously once the cost to upgrade exceeds the cost of the tower then the towers worth it

    I reset my game and regret it. I didn’t even get it keep my exp. it just says prestige 35. Which I don’t understand I have only reset once.

    That tesla seemed to be lagging with it's shots guessing too much math to be caught up with quickly. Guessing either need iron mines are fall back killers with those crazy spawn of runners. Those seem kind of anti fun

      The mines would have done NOTHING for him, as all of his leaks were in one wave in the hundreds, doing like, 4 damage a leak. Even if he mined up all the Iron spots, that one wave would have 100% killed him through the tiny HP increase, and that tiny, basically pointless chance to heal per wave does nothing if you go from full to nothing in the space of a wave.

    At this point I feel like keeping the obelisks on progress was a mistake. You should've switched a number of them to most Armor/shields/health while keeping some of them as progress. you started running into the issue at the end where target swapping was too slow and they ended up leaking through.

      Shredders are the ultimate "set it and forget it" tower. The default "Progress" priority is perfect for them, and each blade is guaranteed to either hit a certain number of enemies or travel a certain distance (there is a max a blade will travel, but it's pretty far), which makes them amazing at doing a lot of damage to a lot of enemies. The only downside is that they can't have all 3 DoTs, they're exclusively Bleed, but if you focus on bleed, crit, and the "deal 10% of bleed amount of crit", it's not hard for the Shredder to do thousands of damage to multiple enemies.

    Pretty sure houses have 8-way adjacency. You are only using the 4 sides but I'm almost certain that corners are productive as well

    Stop making every tower targetthe same thing. You're driving me crazy. It's also totally worth upgrading two parts of the same tower like an antishield antiarmor obelisk.

    Watching the new pokemon game has made me want to get it however i cannot get over how ugly it looks. Seems really fun tho, but i cant justify buying a switch when the game looks like ass.
