  • In this film, we aim to create community awareness about the significance of Natural Resource Management (NRM), specifically focused on soil and water conservation, watershed management, and how they can collectively plan to increase surface and groundwater for their livelihoods.
With a context rooted in Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM), we emphasize the importance of an all-inclusive planning approach that involves the active participation of the community. Throughout the video, we delve into the planning process, showcasing methodologies such as Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), Open Data Kit (ODK), and Transact Walk, which serve as practical tools in gathering information and engaging the community in the planning process.
One of the key elements highlighted in this film is the preparation of the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), which serve as comprehensive documents capturing the essence of the planning process. We display the maps created during the DPR preparation, including Resource, Land Use, and Activity Maps, visually representing the data and planning outcomes.
Central to the planning process is the active involvement of the community. We showcase how the community plays a pivotal role in planning and working at the village level to address NRM challenges. By highlighting the processes and steps involved, we aim to inspire communities to take collective action and be a driving force for positive change in their respective areas.
Furthermore, we stress the need for standard operating procedures (SOPs) to synchronize DPR planning efforts. Ensuring consistency and uniformity in planning is crucial for achieving effective and sustainable results.
Finally, we underscore the importance of giving adequate time for the implementation of the DPRs to witness their impact. Sustainable change takes time, and we emphasize the significance of allowing the planned interventions to mature and yield the desired outcomes.
Join us on this enlightening journey as we explore INRM-based planning methodologies, emphasize community involvement, and showcase the comprehensive process of DPR generation. Let’s empower communities to plan, conserve, and create a brighter and more sustainable future for all.
