  • Discover the transformative "Jiwi Daah Hasa" project, a collaboration between BRLF (Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation) and the Rural Development Department of Jharkhand. This high-impact mega watershed initiative aims to uplift 190,000 socio-economically marginalized households across 24 backward blocks in seven aspirational districts.
Selected based on the state government’s Multi-dimensional Poverty Index (MPI) criteria, the project focuses on 300,000 to 390,000 hectares of upland and midland areas. With a goal of increasing cropping intensity in approximately 181,000 hectares of cultivable land, the initiative will work across 965 micro watersheds.
Derived from the Adivasi language, "Jiwi Daah Hasa” translates to "Revitalizing Life, Water, and Earth." Join us as we bring hope and progress to the most deprived geographies of Jharkhand.
Implemented by 12 ground CSO partners, each covering two blocks (one intensive, one non-intensive), the project ensures dedicated professionals in the intensive block and capacity-building strategies in the non-intensive block. CSOs provide hand-holding support and technical expertise to the Project Implementing Agency (PIA) and Gram Panchayat Secretariat, fostering proper watershed planning and implementing activities following the ridge-to-valley principle.
