I wouldn't use priority for the boss... I would have used bandwidth. The difference with priority is that his packets now get put at the top of the CPU or ASIC for low latency, too. Pretty much use priority for VoIP type situations because the router no longer operates FIFO if you have a priority queue... It's Priority first then FIFO

Is it possible to configure the service out policy on R1 instead of R2's outgoing Interface?

Thanks Routergod but may I suggest something more challenging and real world. I don't usually use a router as a PC :) How about a layer 2 Cisco switch with a couple of PCs and an IP phone connected to it. Then have that switch connected to a router which is connected to the internet. Then you can show layer 2 qos marking, translation to layer 3 and qos trust relationships.

Great video ! Why not applying the priority on R1 outbound instead of R2 outbound ? Isn't it Better to apply QoS as close to the sourde as possible ?

Im kinda confused as to why he can put the servixe policy as input on R1 but can set it that way on R2.

The R1 policy-map isn't using CBWFQ, on R2 he is using CBWFQ which is an output feature only.

is it possible to put out service policy on r1 f1/0 instead of r2 f0/1? will that serve the same purpose?

Please I have one question " how router 2 will know which traffick it is putting for high priority" I mean you have not specified the IP of pc1 anywhere in class-map or policy-map

Hello, thanks for this video, there are a few documens about that. I've done the lab but It seems doesn´t work for me, I´m using ping comand with the same big size betwen PC1 and R2 and betwen PC2 and R2 at the same time, but I doesn´t show any difference, is it a correct way to probe the QOS ?, Can I use both policies in just in one router (R1) ? If QOS is for guarantee access to internet, is it correct to probe the policy with icmp ( ping comand) ? Thanks Humphrey
