Hi, I own this scooter for 4 weeks. It is great scooter, but one information is not correct. Weight 168 kgs is weight of Asia version. EU version weight is 188 kgs wet. When I got technical certificate and noticed weight 188 kgs, I complained to importer, that this must be typo error, but no, it is correct. I also took scooter to weight device and with half full tank weight was 180 kgs. So it was a bit disappointment, but the center of gravity is so low, that you don't feel that weight in motion or on place. So far I was driving on this scooter only 850 km (it was often cold and rain), so I'm in front of the first service. I did not try full potencial yet (until 1000 km you should not drive above 4700 rev per minute), but I can feel it is strong scooter.
Tbh I went with the specs I had, I am surprised about the 188kg it really doesn't feel that heavy, if I were to guess the weight I would say it was 150-160kg
@@Gianniz27 As I wrote My technical certificate says weight 188 kg, the highest allowed weight 368 kgs (=> passengers can weight 368-188=180 kgs). The petrol tank is for 12.5 litres and petrol density is from 0.64 to 0.77 kg/l = so petrol can weight up to 12.5*0.77=9,6 kgs. There are 2 litres of oil in engine and 0.2 litres of oil in gearbox. So in total about 2 kgs of oil. So the "wet" contend is about 12 kgs, so there is no way that EU version of this scooter can have dry weight 168 kgs and technical certificate prove it. In other part of world it can be different, depend on componend inside. Anyway I have on this scooter almost 15000 km and everything is working fine. Small "problem" is small battery in key. It last only about 6-9 months and and it is type that is not too common, so you can't find in any random shop, you have to search for it.
@@RideWithAlex I found it interesting that you as a very experienced rider saw it as a potential handful if not respected. Though I expect a month or three in the saddle would see somebody such as yourself smooth off those edges.

Excellent review! Good details. The test ride can be shorter, people want an up close look. How do you feel about keyless ignition? The BT (I think) key fob? I am wary of this technology from a Ch. company. Where do I get a new one? What happens if the unit dies (not battery)? My scooter becomes a statue in the front yard? Do they have a physical key back-up?
They don't have a physical back-up key but it's been pretty reliable. Plus with 200 euro you can change the entire unit out with both keys. And if the battery runs out on the key fob you hold it next to a part of the scooter where the antenna is and it reads it's NFC chip and unlocks and you can start it. It's all in the user manual.
What one would you choose zontes 310/350 or maxsym 400? Do they have simular pull [power]? One thing ive seen the diffrence is that Zonets have more narrow rare tire at 140 [10 less then most scuters] And that maxsym have 160 [ 10 more then regular] How do you comapre diffrence in that? And also which one you like more narrow or wide? Thank you for great reviews!
I don't feel any difference between 140 and 160 and the zontes is a smaller city scooter while the maxsym is more for touring. Depends what you want to do with it.
Nice review, Alex! If you look at the scooter as a fun machine, how would you compare this Zontes to the Maxym 400i which you enjoyed a lot when you test drove it for the first time?
As a fun machine this is better because it's smaller and a lot lighter, about 70kg lighter, and that makes it feel like the thumbnail says like a Hot Rod. A small light scooter with a way overpowered engine equals fun :))
It's a great scooter for an experienced rider.the 33hp with the low weight makes it excellent power to weight. I must get a test ride..I don't ride in cities at all..twisty country roads and faster B roads for me..a better looking screen would be nice!! Great review.i will subscribe to your excellent reviews
Great presentation thank you. Do you know how reliable the scooter is and the brand in general? I've heard that many parts are cheap and may need replacements soon after purchace.
hey alex just found your channel wanna ask about the st ( the one that has two 16 inch wheels because that is what selling here ) is it good for a 160 cm rider or no and also the zontes and which has a better seat for short people and thanks !
It's a bit hard to say depends how comfortable you are with not flatfooting a bike, at 160cm the only bike you might be able to flat foot is the V310. In the smaller cc class the zontes U or the U1 have the lowest seat heights. In terms of the symphony ST you will have to try it, it's a light scooter and the weight is down low so it's easy to keep up right but it does have a pretty tall seat. You have to try them out in a dealership and see how comfortable you are with them.
@@youtube12345hi with time you get used to anything, might be a bit difficult in the beginning but it's easier with a scooter with a flat floor then a motorcycle because you can move forward on the seat and reach the ground. Try to sit on one and see how you feel.

A greek TH-camr actually didn't like the fact that zontes constantly keeps updating their models and making them better every 2-3 months, cause they lose their after sale value quickly. Cause why would someone buy something that is inferior to the newest model, at almost the same price?. I mean, he wasn't wrong and this is definitely a problem for people that don't keep a scooter for more than 3-4 years or so. But for people that just wanna buy something and stick to it, not caring for the newest thing in the market, i believe Zontes should be a great option. I'm actually eyeing the m310 right now, and the only thing that makes me somewhat hesitant is its engine reliability on the long term. Other than that, I really like this scooter.
