Battle for Skull Pass was such a great set. I wish I would have done WHFB, this and Isle of Blood were amazing starters. The models aged fantastically.
Isle of Blood, yes! I got like 3-4 of those to get a lot of skavens, but elves models were so amazing. At this point i also painted a lot of high elves and it was a bit of shock when i saw the IoB elves, they were league above the old kits, a sign of things to come in terms of advancement of plastic kits.
That was nice of him to send you the Battle for Skull Pass boxset, I remember it been popular at the time of it's released. I like seeing people today paint older models to make them look new. Good paint work on the dwarf warrior.
for me it was the Citadel Speciality Set, the Dwarf Kings Court. Sold many years ago. My better half was put out by the fact it contained a model of a chained bear, called Cyril, I believe. I suppose were talking 40 years or so, now. Proper old!
I remember having this set as a kid! Absolutely wonderful models with so much character Showed up super late for this but it honestly warms my heart to see other people appreciating these old models with the same passion I do :D The first 10 minutes were very entertaining seeing all the joy and excitement in the unboxing
That set was so good I got it twice, still got all the goblins on sprews (was a dwarf player/collector at the time) and the set overall was an absolute bargain.
I remember getting this set when it came out, it was such a great box set. Only just found your channel but enjoying your content plus now my daughter is taking an interest in the hobby she is enjoying watching you aswell.
I bought Skull Pass back then and I couldn't believe the quality of the sculpts and the number of figures in there! I went a little nuts and collected boxes more of them and the Gloom spite Gitz are a follow-on from this set. Watching you open this up and getting emotional was really funny (in a nice way) seeing how excited and failing to control yourself is a reminder of how we should get when open new figures (and every time after in my case ☺) Nice paint job too 👍😊
This takes me back. I had been playing Warhammer 40,000 for ages and then a friend and I dived back into Warhammer Fantasy Battles with Battle For Skull Pass. He took the Goblins and I took the Dwarfs and I was drawn right back in. We played SO much 8th Edition WFB that my rulebook is falling apart! I still have a big Battle Foam bag full of Dwarfs from that era and even further back - got my hands on loads of old metals etc.
Great paint video! Love dwards. Can you recommend a few paint brushes in different sizes? Just got all my old brushes stolen from my car and don't remember what they were. Also, will you do more lessons on how to paint dwafs? :-)
there are so many WFB armies i want. I already have high elves (started collecting them back in early spring 2022), i have some empire stuff and i want more, i want dwarves, skaven, lizardmen, orks, and dark elves lol
one of the cooler box sets for fantasy. i would argue however that anything post 2000 isnt really old hammer; since at that point warhammer had been around for many decades. cool video though thanks for sharing!
I have this set, not entirely painted. but me and wife bought it after getting sucked into a demo game inside the store. (we jes wanted to browse!) Before we knew it...we were in. paint sets and all the bits then. it was not cheap lol.
Saw you painting these guys was a major blast from the past🤭 I ended up digging around my figure cases to find my really old lead khorne dog beastmen. Like these dwarfs the casts are so much better than they are today. Can’t wait to see what you do to the pit pony 👍
I think my brother bought this box back when it came out. I think he gave the Dwarves to my other brother who has the Dwarf army. Not sure what happened to the Goblins they might have gone to my cousin. Or he kept them because he has an Orc army
How totally awesome of him! Are you going to give the pony a name worthy of Equestria? Mr. Dwarf looks great; that beard really pops, and I saw you using that NMM steel hack--which I tried and liked a lot since it really works! I suck at NMM and need to get back on trying to get my head around it. And congratulations to you and your very lucky hubby on the soon to be new arrivals!
I’m trying to work out what type of dwarves I managed to get online are. I thought they were skull pass but they’re different. What other dwarves sets were from this era, anyone know?
Hardened battle warrior dwarves, ready for battle, armour handed down through generations, every dint, slice, scar betraying a moment so close to death, covered in the dried blood, sweat and tears of fallen battle brothers... Woman: OMG theyre gonna look so cute all ranked up!
I’ve done only one eBay auction. I watched it all week to make sure it didn’t go out of my budget and I finally made a bid with 1 second left only to be out bid by 5 people in that one second. I’m still upset about it and never want to do it again.
@@OrionsBeltMinis I have a bunch of there stuff. Really lovely minis and the company is one of the best I have ever dealt with. Definitely worth the plunge. Reach out to them.
The cat and i both enjoyed this video very much (she was trying to catch your paintbrush)! Such a joyful video and also you did an incredible job on that dwarf in what seemed like no time at all! Much envy over here. 😅
As ex hobbyiest and former GW employee, nothing upset me more than to hear the death of Warhammer for AoS. I often got a dressing down while working for them because I was the Fantasy, LOTR, Specialist guy and they didn't like I had maybe 500 points of 40k and knew next to nothing about the rules. Dwarves were my favorite bit of the lore and game and they new AoS stuff is ridiclous to me.
OMG you did not bust out a Heinz baked beans snack in the midst of painting! 😊 Also, how the heck do you get those eyes painted so perfectly??? There are not enough yummy baked beans in the world to help me paint eyes on my minis. 😝
I just can't see this as oldhammer, Oldhammer refers to WFB 3rd edition and Rogue Trader era Warhammer.. This box is solidly a late middlehammer era release lol.. my nerd Fandom old is triggered. I've been playing on and off since the 80s.. I'll see myself to the door ha
Excellent work! I could just watch your painting videos all the time. Watching the dwarf go from black primer to the finished model was a treat!
Thanks so much :)
Congratulation and blessings to you and you growing family.
Battle for Skull Pass was such a great set. I wish I would have done WHFB, this and Isle of Blood were amazing starters. The models aged fantastically.
They really did age well!! They have so much character

I gifted this box to myself recently and can't wait to paint and display it !
You paintjob is incredible ❤
Awesome box and a fantastic paintjob! Can't wait to see more from this series :)
Wow thanks so much!! 😊
Love the video, totally understand the appeal of these old minis
First set I ever saw and had. Will forever be my favourite for all time…

Very impressed on how you paint the eyes on the model. Not an easy task. Great job 👏
Oh My Goodness! That's so kind of him to send you all these! 😊
Wow! Loved the paint job for the dwarf warrior, the nmm looks so good.
Thank you!! :)
Your enthusiasm is 10/10 wholesome. Loved the vid.
As always I'm left utterly amazed at your use of light and general painting techniques... Great work and congrats on the little ones!!
Aww well thank you!! 🥰
I'm from the 80's. Oldhammer is rogue trader for me 😳 but all games workshop models older than 10yrs + are just better 😍
Rogue trader forever!

I’m glad you said that. Calling this oldhammer makes me feel properly old 😂

Классный набор, помню в свое время то же его красил :)
Ooh an Oldhammer video! I wonder if it's about 2nd or 3rd edition? OH GOD *crumbles into a pile of dusty bandages*
Wwhooooooooooohoooooo! twiiiiiiiiins! Congraaaaats guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
WoW!! And you didn't use any metallic paint. You have a excellent method! Outstanding job my lady!
Yo, I recently followed you on ig, without even knowing you had a channel, and just found this, awesome, love the vintage Warhammer
I love the Skull Pass Dwarfs, glad to see them getting so much love and that people are still snagging them up.
Such a nice gift for such a great artist! Also, congratulations on your incoming new arrivals!

Aww thanks for watching! 🥰
I loved this box set, when the Old World gets redone I might repaint them!
whhhhoooooaaa! i have that! this best minis!
Love this video. The emotions, the painting… the food😂
Great painting. :)
Have fun painting everything, the model looks amazing. ✨️

So cool! Also excited to watch your channel grow, you have a unique approach and its a joy to watch
I appreciate it! :)
these were the first minis i ever painted, great to see how good they still look
I'm always a dwarf fan, but when you opened the spider riders... I felt that excitement too!
Now in 2024 those are great starter forces for Old World 🎉😊

This is a really wholesome video :D I'm glad you shared your joy with us :D And the model looks great! :)
Great video and citadel miniatures. I am a collector and painter too. I subscribe to your channel now. 😃👍
hello from France
Yeeeessss! So stoked for some good ol’ dwarfy lads! :D

I gave up on Warhammer and Warhammer 40k (for various reasons), but I still have great fondness for Oldhammer. ✌
OK if you love the really old warhammer like 90 models look at Spellcrow really lovely company and great models
I just spent some time scrolling through their starter boxes and I am VERY intrigued. 😍
@@OrionsBeltMinis I have a bunch of there stuff. Really lovely minis and the company is one of the best I have ever dealt with. Definitely worth the plunge. Reach out to them.
I've been missing some last vids, when did you come up with this picture at the start, it looks amazing! haha! :)
I commissioned an amazing artist!! His info is in the video description 😊

Aww happy to hear!
Currently painting a set of this myself, how dare you put them on circle bases! They belong on squares =P

2006 isn't Oldhammer. OH is 80s to mid 90s.
Excellent video, I like your channel. I subscribe, your channel is realy interesting and we have the same hobby. 😃👍

Lol I did 🙈 it’s pertinent to the painting experience, I think
