Once you get habituated Microsoft apps it's impossible to get used to Google work space. This is how I feel as I've shifted from an organization that uses Microsoft apps to the organization that uses Google work space.

You can have them half in and out and as new employees come along get them to use Google Workspace only. Most should be comfortable with that as many young folks already use Gmail as their main email anyway.

In my case its the other way around lol. Going from Microsoft's million different buttons and features I never used to Google's simple layout was a breeze. If anything it did a favor for my sight haha. Its more minimalistic, less "powerfull" but if it can handle my data (thousands of rows per sheet) then I am good! Also, I like that what you see in Google is what others see, I have already had way too many iterations where I created a nice doc (i.e a flyer) and then shared it online with my team, and they saw something different (i.e text was outside the boxes it was supposed to be, images did not appear, etc.). In the end its personal preference.

The company I worked for changed to Google Workspace, and as someone with a Microsoft background, I have gone backwards - it is very limiting for advanced creators. Trying to manipulate dashboards, mail merges, and delimited text has been awful. I wish companies would check with staff before making such big moves as in the long run, it doesn't save money one bit!

Thanks for the insights. My feeling is that for 'power users' of productivity suites - and big corporations - yes, 365 gives you a lot more functionality and features. Google Workspace can work well for small businesses and solopreneurs, however. The mad thing is that so many organizations end up investing in both platforms, in order to ensure they can open external files from other businesses...

@@StyleFactoryTV absolutely - we have users who are provided with AWS to manipulate their Excel files, but they must justify why they can't use Google sheets 😑

I agree companies should give staff plenty of time to evaluate software to best match to their use case. I work in education and google workspace dominates since the vast majority of people don’t use advanced office features and it’s critical that the product work on all devices…windows, chrome, smart phones, iPads, etc. Google workspace is easier to use and caters more to the new collaborative workforce. Google also works very well with Microsoft office so high end users can always continue to use office.

For Dashboards I would recommend Looker Studio (free, and works with Google Seets) which is on par with Power BI, and superior in my opinion to Excel (bigger companies use Power BI for dashboards anyways).

Grammar 101, you are comparing two items, thus your question should be, "which is better", rather than "which is best." Back in grammar school they taught everyone the proper use for good, better, best. When referencing one item use good, two item use better, referencing three or more then use best. Hope this helps you and others as well.

Next time, when you demonstrate Microsoft Office, use a Windows computer since this is Microsoft's software.

Thanks for the feedback Sean. The comparison technically involves Microsoft 365 (not Office) - a productivity suite that is designed to work across multiple devices, not just Windows. Accordingly, the demonstrations involved are totally fine for the purposes of the video.

@@StyleFactoryTVThere are 4 applications that are part of Microsoft Office (Microsoft 365 includes & adds to Microsoft Office) that are only available for Windows. Those include:
      *Microsoft Publisher (desktop publishing software)
      *Microsoft Access (database management system)
*Microsoft Project (project management software) *
*Microsoft Visio (a diagram & flowcharting program)
*There was a version of Microsoft Project for Macintosh that was released in 1991 & then stopped development with Microsoft Project 4.0 for Macintosh in 1993. Microsoft stopped development of most of its Macintosh applications in 1994 & did not offer a new version of Microsoft Office for Macintosh until 1998, after the creation of the new Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit in 1997. The Mac Business Unit never released an updated version of Project for Macintosh & eventually became a Windows-only program.

@@seanhamilton4169 Thanks for your insights Sean. Yes, there are a few apps which remain Windows-only. But ultimately 365 is a cross-platform productivity suite regularly used on millions of non-Windows devices. So, for the purposes of a short comparison of it and Google Workspace, I think a few screen recordings of 365 being used on a Mac won't offend many :)
