I Lived in Poole from 1961 till 2000 and moved to North Wales. I remember Poole like this my 1st School was where the RNLI is now on West Quay Rd. W e lived in Garland Road and my parents both worked at Millers which is where i worked from 1974-2000 Poole has changed so much.
Thanks everyone for commenting on my Poole 1963 film. The music is a licenced production track by Mark Hewer featuring Mike Burn on guitar. For those visitors who want to examine the scenery at a more leisurely pace, can I suggest the freeze frame button - that way, you can see everything very clearly at whatever zoom level you want.
I agree with you. It would have been even better if the panning and zooming had been a lot slower. Maybe the producer can make yet another version? Let's hope so.
Oh my god, They have systematically destroyed what Poole was in the name of progress. Panning a very unique photo certainly does say a lot. Beautiful, thank you for sharing

Hi, I'm doing a project about old Poole at the moment - can I embed this video as part of the story? Thanks
A facebook (crib) says the music is "The Calling" by a guy called Mike Hewer...but I have not been able to source this track...
brilliant music
Every picture tells a story...but some do so much more
This plays too fast to fully appreciate the scenery

To be fair a lot of the early more radical town planning was done by the Luftwaffe but I get your point
@@RossRossiter The Luftwaffe didn't hit Poole much my Gran said, she lived on Denmark road.
