My Spark failed the update after downloading and now my iPad wifi doesn't see the Spark or the controller when powered on! Apparently this update wasn't tested very much before release. Now I have an expensive drone that won't fly !
DJI ASSISTANCE 2 is either not working or there's nothing there, im looking at it right now as i type this msg. im having a hardtime updating my spark. This doesnt look good on DJI image.

Thanks for the video.I did the latest update but didn't restart the spark i just powered off then the next day powered on and flew,should i have restarted the spark straight after the update as there was no issues the next day when i flew.Do i need to uninstall and reinstall again because of not restarting?
Mine started doing weird things and it wouldn’t power off so I took out the battery. When I put it back in, it wouldn’t power on, finally after a little while it turned on. Then the gimbal started going crazy and banging into the top of the drone. Now I don’t know what to do

Hi there, when you download the firmware, the WiFi of the controller to mobile device will be disconnected, after downloaded the firmware, the WiFi of the controller will be connected to finish the update. You can also use DJI Assistant 2 to upgrade the firmware. Hope this is informative for you.
@@stakexgaming7399 Please connect the drone, controller and DJI GO 4 app. If a new firmware is available, there will be a prompt popped up on the app, you can tap the message to download and update the firmware.
This video has an error. You can't be connected to WiFi and the controller or the drone wirelessly at the same time(unless you use an OTG cable). You must download the firmware for the Spark and/or the controller via WiFi first, "if you don't want to use a cellular net data connection". Or you can use an OTG cable but that doesn't come with any Spark packages. So best to turn on the DJI-Go-4 app click the update red banner thingy and download all available updates. Then connect the controller to the Spark and finally the phone to the controller. It will then start the firmware updates from files you already put on the phone. You may need to restart the app or better, restart the phone after you download, to be totally in the clear. WARNING the files can be pretty big.
What i dont get is that the wifi for the controller and the home wifi is separate and to stay connected to the drone i can not switch wifi connections to a network that has internet access witch is needed for the update??????? DJI your brands are great but your products are definitely NOT user friendly

I was updating DJI Spark, with my phone connected to the controller via WiFi and the controller connected to Spark. At 98% of the update the aircraft would not turn on, and the battery was stuck with the two middle LEDs on. After about 30 min like this, I swapped batteries and the updated finished without further issues. Problem is I was left with a battery that would not respond (two middle LEDs stuck).
Please help. Who knows how to reset the Spark Controller (RC)? Unfortunately, at the first update it hangs at 5% and now I do not want to re-upload the whole.

The RC Firmware update does not work with the latest Android DJI GO 4.1.8. You have to use an older version of the App, no other way to solve the problem! You can find e.g. version 4.1.5 on APK Mirror. Hi, may we confirm if you are using the iOS device? If so, please ensure that your mobile device is connected to the internet. Launch DJI GO 4 and wait for about 1 minute. Then stop the DJI GO 4 app from running in the background. Power on the aircraft and remote controller. Connect your mobile device to the remote controller's Wi-Fi first. (if the remote controller is not purchased, power on the aircraft and connect your mobile device to the aircraft's Wi-Fi.) Launch DJI GO 4 and enter the image transmission screen. Wait for a moment and a "switch Wi-Fi setting" prompt will pop up. Click "OK" and the aircraft will reset its Wi-Fi settings. See if this helps.
You need to have a cell connection in order to do this update using the drone's wifi connection (I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S6). The phone uses your cellular connection to download the updated software, then uploads it to the drone (and controller, I assume) over the drone's wifi. It does prompt you about using cellular data before it starts the download. Everything seems better and easier with the OTG cable - they should probably send one with the $500 drone... ALSO - YOU HAVE TO DO THIS WITH EACH BATTERY...

This remote needs to be able to connect to a computer to do updates. The wifi way bricked my remote. I’ve stayed on line with support for hours. They recommend to send it in. That’s great service but crap product.

If that does not help, if the battery is within the warranty period, you can send the battery back to DJI, you can click www.dji.com/us/service/repair to start an online repair case. Or you may need to use another battery.

Not sure why but my phone refuses to have more then 1 Wi-Fi connection. It's either connected to the drone or to my home network.
you have 3 options - use cellular to download, use a cable or do it in sequence connecting to each wireless network in turn

Use dji assistant 2 to format the drone and put a new firmware on it I sometimes will be a sensitive proses but you will get there in the end

this is by far an overly complicated process that should not be so. Fail on dji end.
