@@Trolldaddy5 On one hand... a knife is a knife - they're all pretty similar. On the other, I appreciate the small details. I have a Sage 5 - it's a great knife, and I love it. But, I find the button lock on my Spyderco Smock a lot easier to manipulate - I can keep a better hold on the knife while pressing the button than pinching the tab. But, to each, their own...
@mstuehler literally pointless. Easier to grip? Like a compression lock isnt already easy? That makes no sense. Itd be one thing if your comparing it to a slip joint or back lock where the lock is way in the back and actually difficult sometimes. Plus, the sage has decent size scales. If you struggle to grip those, you have bigger issues. And the button is back kinda far on the sage 6. Kinda awkward. If anything, they should have done a native 5 with a compression or button lock. You've just fell for marketing bs or are self justifying why this knife is somehow better than the last. It's the exact same. Either way, it's just a way for them to get you to buy another of the same exact knife. In that sense, you have fell for marketing bs.
The Sage 6 looks interesting. Hope they make a model in M4, Cruwear, K390, or Rex45. I've been hoping for a non-stainless model with a practical blade shape and compression lock.
FYI, The harpy was last produced in the plain edge version in 2012 or so. The secondary market price for a "User quality" knife was $400. The knife is very collectable. It took me 4 years to get one. The demand will be very high for a while. Thanks for the video! 😎👍
Nice overview! I always love to hear someone talk about reveals. When i saw this reveal this morning, i sprinted over to knifecenter and pre-ordered the Edgerati. The Shaman is my favorite Spyderco, but the weight always annoyed me. Well see how the skelly frame feels. Lots of other cool models too!
Right on Clarke , the manix 2 g 10 s are way better than the lightweights imho . They seem to have the good solid feel for me in hand . I still have 5 of them . The Rex 45 lw one wouldn’t hold an edge very well for around 6 sharpenings . I’ve never had that issue with a spyderco .
I was hoping you did a video! Never expected to see a spyderco version of the CHNOPS, or a sub-$300 spyderco titanium integral. I was kinda optimistic that the skinny would get a spyderco version, but expected them to do like they did with the LionSpys. Edit: Michele Pensato is "Molleta". He does most of LionSteels designs.
Cool knives with fair prices. M390 integral titanium with m390 that's cheaper than the Chinese knives with those specs. And BM, which I do love, just raised their prices again. This year I'll be buying all Spyderco
I’m going to rip the scales of the, I can’t believe I’m calling it this, “Edgearati” 😂 and get the great Mr. Ripplinger to make some 🔥 micarta scales….:
Instead of the sage 6 they should of did a native 6. A native 5 with a compression or ball lock. The sage 6 kinda pointless and the button is in a akward spot. It literally offers no advantage over a sage 5
Kinda agree the sage is a knife that Spyderco has used every lock on so this doesn’t surprise me. But a compression lock native 5 would probably be my favorite knife if the ever make it.
It gets old hearing people talk about blades that are 3.5inches like they are big knives. That is small for big guys. The Yojumbo is not a big knife for large people. It is ok size but not big.
15V 🔥
Great video - really appreciate you taking the time to make it, and share your thoughts. Can't wait for that Sage 6!
Theres literally no advantage over a sage 5. Its honestly pointless.

So many amazing releases. !!
Still looking forward to a 15v Sage 5 or now 6

Hell yeah, finally, salt para 3
Sage 5 might be my favorite knife coupled with AWT scales. I’ll have to get the Sage 6 naturally.

Thanks for the review 👍 excellent video….

I dig the edgerati

The spydie hole on the essenza is a miss. They could have used a flipper and slimmed the profile way down.
Meanwhile the lil native lightweight shown off last year still hasn’t released.

I can’t tell if this dude keeps coughing or if he’s gagging.
Need an Amalgam in a new steel choice !!!!

I want something useable and practical. Not skeletal!
